Now, on the May 2008 PC, the queue for Palo reservations etc on embarkation day went right out into the foyer!! It took ages. Would be nice not to have to spend that time waiting again.(We were just changing normal dining times)

Oh, I remember that nightmare wait. But we had fun talking to everybody in line, I was just getting a little hungry for my lunch!

Nice thing about the longer cruise....more Palo opportunities! :thumbsup2

To be honest it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't get any Palo booking as we have done all the meals before. Probably will try and book once in Orlando, and if no luck then try onboard.

OK< I think Ive changed my mind. I am not good at waiting in line.

Would a group of us like to do a High Tea at Palo? That's something I've always wanted to do, but Joe hasn't been interested.
Our 2008 Christmas cruise, I just kept checking the online bookings and finally got what I wanted. You know, the old motto, "if at first you don't succeed!"

can anyone point me in the direction of a high resolution picture of our logo? i want to put it on my desktop, but all of the pictures i am finding are very small. Thanks!

I would love to. DH is not interested either.

Is there a private room on the Wonder? Perhaps we could book that? Anyone know how?

Hey Jeff! At the world now, that's why I haven't been posting. Will you be working somewhere I might catch up with you on Wednesday or Thursday?

Count me in for a High Tea at Palo! I'll be solo on this trip, so probably won't get to Palo otherwise; the High Tea would be a treat.... good idea.

I love the weather reports.... you're painting beautiful pictures in my imagination! But I do hope that the temp will rise a bit in the next few days, I am definitely a hot-weather beach lover, and won't even mind a good dose of humidity!

I have done the high tea at Palo and was so unimpressed with it that I won't be doing it again. I thought it would be similar to the Grand Floridian's tea but the food was nowhere near as good.

Since we're in conceirge we might be able to get them to do a group booking for us at the 120 day window. Let me look into that (if I forget someone remind me or Jeff)
Catherine, if I'm doing high tea, so are you!

Am not. You are already making me zipline, you can't make me eat boring food!! I'll be in the place that makes martinis. Now Palo brunch...that's different.

I don't know about tea using the Palo private room, but for brunch & dinner:

This post by Andrew DEREK UK lists the contact person at DCL & information to include in your fax requesting use of the private room.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2166280

I received a call today from the Hassle Free Specialist for Palo, confirming a request I faxed to her regarding a brunch on the April 2010 Med cruise.

Requests are granted on a first come, first serve basis.

There are cruises with no private room usage requested.

I included reservation #, names and birthdates so that DCL would drop any online reservations made for brunch by the participants (only one pre-boarding reservation per person for each--brunch, tea and dinner). This makes it easier to process once the group reservation goes through. They will notify us of availability of the room 30 days pre-cruise.

So now you ARE ziplining? Wow... didn't think I'd get you to do that one, I'm proud!
Yeah I know, brunch brunch brunch....
and as many tasting as we can get in... I think Jeff and Kris's husband may miss us.....

YES, Pam and I would like to do high tea

NO, they don't use the private room for high tea, as a matter of fact, they doin't fill the restaurant at all.

Yes, a concierge level cruiser can more easily arrange a large table(s) :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

What we did for the 08 WBPC was as many of us as could booked tea during the booking window, then just went with a list of names and reservations and converted to the largest tables possible. The banquettes seat six people, if memory serves. We also had a list of seat fillers for people that might have cancelled at the last minute (I was crammed in at the eleventh hour).

High tea is most fun as a social event, the food itself has been spotty (as of last Sept the Magic's scones were good again). So if it were just my SIL and I, I would probably pass, but would love to make a 'party'.
