Welcome to all the new cruisers, if you haven't already, PM TigfanJeff with your info for the cruise website

Aruba. The Magic docked in May 2008. You could get off and walk quite a way. We didn't do an excursion.

Nice pic.

Well, I just watched the new star trek film, I wasnt really watching it but I was reading my book, but it got the better of me and I ended up watching it,I have to admit I thought it was ok, spok was great.
I am not a trekie though!

I am personally going to come to your state room and get you;)

I'd appreciate it! I was solo that cruise and my watch stopped while I was doing some unpacking. Glanced at my watch at 4:50 (I thought) and hurried upstairs...then wondered why the ship was moving! :sad2:

I made my brother-in-law buy it last week so I could watch it again! As a Karl Urban fan I just needed to look at him again  Plus, Bones was my favorite original cast character.

Marilyn, I just stole your picture. I didn't have ANY of Aruba for some reason. :confused3 I don't think I unpacked my camera till canal day!

We did a snorkel excursion in Aruba...the 1/2 day one. I was the official towel and eyeglasses holder for some of my DIS pals!

You're welcome Jackie. Of course as we only walked around locally we don't have many.

Aruba already? How much money have I lost at BINGO?

Don't know how much you lost but I didn't loose any. I always loose and, while I enjoy it, I can find lots of other things to do with those funds. Like drinking, or shopping or drinking or excursions or maybe a DOTD?? And no - I don't really drink that much.

That sure was a fast weekend - didn't help that I worked today instead of enjoying my day off. Not fun but I gotta do what I gotta do. My house goal had been to get the Christmas dishes put away and the ornament totes back int he closet - nope. DH has just left for scouts so that won't get done tonight either. Oh well, there is always tomorrow...

Actually, I came out ahead $40 after playing many, many games on a 7-day. Won a $400+ prize one day.

Good afternoon cruisers!

Sorry it's so late in the day! It's been one of those days!

The weather today is a beautiful 81 degrees! Partly Cloudy but warm! I hope you enjoyed your day snorkling, enjoying the beach or shopping (nice jewelry stores here!)

We will be departing Aruba at 4:30 PM today (oops! We're late!) Enjoy your evening....

Tomorrow is a wonderful day at sea.. have fun!

Happy Sunday evening all! Another fast weekend at the Tallon home. Joe and I spent an enjoyable evening out with life-long friends last night. We told them all about the cruise and where we will be going. We watched the Cowboy game when we got home. Carly spent the evening with her bff. All in all it was a great Saturday night.
I am so ready for information on shore excursions to post on the DCL website. I want to plan, plan, plan!

Wow, I totally missed the last month here. It got so crazy with school parties, holidays, vacations, etc. And then as school started up again we got sick in this house. It was not fun having both kids home at the same time, but thankfully everyone is healthy again and back at school!!! Now if only the weather would warm up some I'd be very happy. We actually had a white Christmas here - the first in over 80 years.

I became a great aunt again today. :woohoo:The first male child in 59 years in our family!!! AND he was born on my brothers birthday. Nice birthday present Grandpa Paul. And congrats to Grandma Pam, my cabin-mate for this cruise..
A bit late here, but congatulations. :upsidedow
For those DVC's out there/ Are you planning on doing the GCH after the cruise? I know the points will be high since it is the weekend. Are you going to use them or do a cash only or book elsewhere?
Our plan it to stay at the GC after this cruise on points. I better tell DH to put booking day into his calendar with a reminder.
Yay! My countdown badge finally says 365 days!!! Let the planning begin!:lmao: Still no stateroom # assigned. This is driving me crazy. Thinking of calling and just jumping up a category so I can have my room#. I have signs and whatnot to make!!;)
Just an FYI.. on the 2008 EB PC.. some of our peeps didn't get thier cabin assignment until close to 4 weeks before... hopwfully yours doesn't take that long but just wanted to let you know.
We were sharing the big GTY up until our assignment came through 4 weeks before departure when we went on the last PC cruise. It was a little annoying and somewhat disconcerting, but we ended up with a great location right off the mid-ship elevators and right next door to A Litle Pixie Dust. :thumbsup2

Hi all,

I am very excited looking forward to this cruise, and thought it might be interesting to check the weather this year on the same dates that we would be in each of the ports next year..... if anyone else is technically better at doing this than I?

For instance, what is the weather today in Port Canaveral, then tomorrow in Castaway Cay, then a few days from now in Aruba, etc.? I'm hoping it will give me an idea of what to expect next year, and help me decide how to pack for the different weather we might encounter during the cruise.

I hope y'all enjoy the anticipation as much as I do!
I added all the stops to the Weather application on my iphone so I can check it daily. The closest I could find to Castaway Cay, though, is Sandy Point.

can anyone tell me what the policy is about little kids on Castaway Cay? My kids are big but I have friends cruising and they are wondering if they can put their kids in a kids club or in some activity on Castaway Cay, and go to Serenity Bay themselves. Also what is the policy in port? Can kids stay on the ship? I am thinking they may have to tag team it with the other family they are travelling with. Like a mom shopping morning in port and a dad "go for a beer", then nest port a couple 1 morning and a couple 2 afternoon. Something like thaqt anyway....
We didn't do it, but our tablemates on the last PC cruise left their (then) 18 month old in Flounders several times while they got off the ship for excursions in the various ports.

Well just wanted to say hi to everyone. DW and I went to go see Mary Poppins last night. What an amazing show. If it comes to your town, or close to it I highly recomend going to see it. As for the cruise, can't wait. We are just trying to figure out if we will be cancelling our TA in Sep. We will see.
Glad you enjoyed MP. We took DS to see it back in October when it was in town. We loved it, but there was a glitch at the end and we never got to see MP fly. Everyone was waiting around anxiously and then the house lights just came on and that was it. :confused3

We had a glitch as well. After the Spoon full of sugar number, the house broke. It was a 30 min delay but it picked up right were it left off. To bad you did not get to see her fly over the crowd. It was awesome. My jaw droped, and I even knew it was coming. That was great. Bert walking up the side of the stage and dancing upsidedown was really cool too.

Oh tut, we will be out in the Atlantic on the Transatlantic in September when our 105 day booking window opens for this cruise.:confused3

Well I guess I will have to be up at 4am and at a computer. If the last PC cruise we did is anything to go by it took 4 hours just to get one Palo dinner booking!!!

Shame you cant just go to guest services and book it.
I am not going to get worried about it this time, last 7 day cruise I got what I wanted onboard.

:worship::worship: I am not so lucky (or skillful or whatever it takes) - I have never won at bingo - in all my life, anywhere. I feel the same about lottery tickets and don't frequent the casinos either as my 'results' are the same.

If you would really like me to try for you, I would be happy to do so. I will be doing mine at the 105 days as well (or I think that is what it is for platinum).

Happy Monday! Have a great day.

To be honest it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't get any Palo booking as we have done all the meals before. Probably will try and book once in Orlando, and if no luck then try onboard.

Now, on the May 2008 PC, the queue for Palo reservations etc on embarkation day went right out into the foyer!! It took ages. Would be nice not to have to spend that time waiting again.(We were just changing normal dining times)
