Don't have much to say either. I've had lots going on between work and getting ready for Christmas.

This is just my contribution to get to the end of the thread.

Hope everyone has a great week.:)

Question: Since we voted for the logo, is there a way to remove the poll?

A moderator can remove the images for us. The OP just has to ask one of them.

Multi quoting works! It makes the posts longer so you can go through pages quicker! :thumbsup2

Length of post has no bearing, same number of posts per page regrdless.

When I was reading through all the pages to get caught up, I learned how to start my post reading - on my computer, I press "page down" 7 times and I am at the top of the posts for that page. Now I'm programmed to perform that trick - maybe I am just a trainable monkey.

Anybody out there able to give us some ideas of Disboard activities for the EB Transatlantic? We have a straight six days at sea and two more sea days after that.

...Hi Alan, I have to let you know as I am sure you will be dissapointed:rolleyes:,CApt jack sparrow theme is getting lost for the tranatlantic thread as he cant make it.

The whole pirate-based thread and cruise was one of the reasons I was happy to move from the Westbound to the Eastbound Transatlantic. Ditto Alan's post that it's too bad someone doesn't get to cruise, but maybe they can lighten up the pirate talk. Of course, it was a ship taken over by pirates, they just lost their pirate king.

Just to add to the weather talk, its cold and wet here in San Jose, CA. Brr. Time to get the mittens and hats out!

The Disney Dream, the first of two new 4,000-passenger ocean liners being built by Disney Cruise Line, is inching closer to its maiden voyage in January 2011. And that means more bills are coming due.

Payments for ship construction helped drive capital spending at the Walt Disney Co.'s domestic theme- park division to more than $1 billion during the company's 2009 fiscal year, which ended Oct. 3. That was up 31 percent from last year and led to the highest overall capital spending at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts since 2001, according to regulatory filings.

Disney hasn't said how much the new ships, the Dream and the Disney Fantasy, will cost. But the price tag is believed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $1 billion each.

Since I bought Disney stock in June, its value has increased 29%. Let's hope these ships do not bring down company value.

Since every one is talking weather......It snowed in the Sacramento area last night and is expected to be in the 20's tonight. Hasn't snowed since the early 90's.

That would be me, and ironicly, we found this DD when were were on The Westbound Panama Canal last year.

Thanks Shark Avatar (Alan):

I used the "search" feature on the board to find "dunkin donuts" or just "donuts" and couldn't find it - but I knew I had read it somewhere in the thread.

I finally got the 1701 in your name when I was rewatching the latest Star Trek movie. And I new the Enterprise's designator.

...Even without "Cap'n Jack Sparrow" on the Westbound Atlantic, they'll probably stick with that pirate theme. Seems to have been a bunch of them.

... Thanks for the head's up on Dunkin'. Lots like an easy stop for breakfast. There seems to be 2 DD locations in Aruba. I guess this one is easier to use, since it's right at the port.

A few things Lynne. First. The Enterprise always had the designation NCC-1701 since day one in the 60's. So it has been around longer than the new movie. (Which was awesome by the way) Second. If the theme stays pirates I am not apart of it period. You can say I have a true distain for the whole pirate thing. I think that is it.

I do remember NCC-1701 since I was a kid watching the show (not reruns) and my brother had a ship's model of the Enterprise. I just didn't connect the dots between your 1701 and its 1701. A true Trekkie would have seen that at first glance.

And I don't put any pirates in my logos, either.

I love this wet weather. Sometimes CA weather can be so boring! LOL
I bet it's nice and green in Scotland.
You can say that again!
:thumbsup2;)
I hope you day has gotten better!

Shushh, being bored at work is EXACTLY why I highly recommend retirement!!!!

It's not that I "DO" a lot every day - it's just that what I do do takes so much time! We've been trying to trim the Christmas tree for three days. By the time I went to the gym, came home, had breakfast, took a little snooze because I woke UP for some unknown reason at 3:30 am, had a shower, got dressed to go out, had lunch 20 miles away that lasted two hours, stopped at Walmart, came home, we both took a nap, did some photo editing, got in the post, made supper - dang the day was totally gone and I had put like 3 ornaments on the tree, and accomplished absolutely NOTHING beyond my workout. Who has time to get bored?? NOT ME! :rotfl:
My Mum is so busy also, she wonders how she managed when she had to work!

Re Dunkin, now we hardly get Dunkin don in the uk, this cat came into to work, its name was duncan and I said, is that as in Dunkin dohnuts, no he said just Duncan, my brain is crazy sometimes.

Lynne,

When I first booked the WB, pirate talk and pirate this and pirate that was all over it. Maybe it has settled down and you have reformed your pirate ways - no more looting and pillaging. :goodvibes

You are not on the EB Transatlantic anymore, are you?

Lynne

All this talk of cold weather ... Global colding?

I don't think so:lmao: More like the warming has changed the weather patterns - the artic is warming so much that the polar bears are having trouble.

I pm'ed a couple mods to see if they could address our issue, but I'm not the op so I guess it won't do any good.

We were on the WB, but we bagged it in favor of the PC. On the last cruise, our table mates (with kids) got a kick out of the pirate thing, but we skipped it. It IS ignorable, if you try hard enough to focus on other things!

I believe in global warming - it just seems that we could be headed into the mini iceage that had been predicted.

I'm not a hard-core pirate hater. My niece just says "oh, brother." I had a pirate hat decorated with Mickey Mouse (wore it on 2 cruises). My issue is that there really are pirates out there, today. And now, just as in ye olden days, they loot, they pillage, they rape, yo ho! A pirate's life for them.

But, I did like the Johnny Depp Jack Sparrow, especially when I found out he modeled it after Keith Richards (it was uncanny) and then they had Keith Richards as his father in the next film. (and I have seen them all, multiple times). I am obviously two-sided on pirates.
