From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

That's usually me. Packing to the last possible minute, not getting any sleep the night before leaving.

You sound like me! I'm in total panic mode right now. Working tonight until 8p. Kids clothes laid out in suticases, but may mix them up so if one goes missing, one person is not completely without clothes. DH and my clothes to be packed tonight. And you're right...it's all the other "stuff" that takes time...not the clothes! Stress!!! We leave tomorrow. And I also don't expect to sleep tonight either!

Did someone slow down my clocks at work??? Tomorrow is going to be even worse.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but want everyone to be prepared.

We still have one more day for the weather forecast to change (yes, it's that inaccurate in FL). But I would keep the rain jackets in your carry on!

Looks like I'll be wearing my new pink DCL hoodie from the outlet. DH will most likely be wearing his Stitch zip-up sweatshirt. And DD will be wearing a dark blue DCL sweatshirt.

OK, bags are 99.9% packed. All 4 suitcases are will underweight. At least they are for this end of our voyage. House/pet sitter will be here tonight. CCs notified. Paper on hold. All lost things found. Hmm. What am I forgetting? Need to have SW print our boarding passes at the airport in the morning. Something went wrong and our printed boarding passes are incomplete. Oh well. If that's the worse thing that happens we're in fine shape. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work that went in to making this the best Disney Cruise ever.

On another note. Watched the Dream float in to Port Canaveral this morning on YouTube. Magnificant ship. Can't wait to. Need to start our countdown to Sept. 25, 2011 when we'll be checking her out in person. Anyone else cruising then?

At AKL. Girls are all asleep. It was quite a day. Airline (NOT SW) lost one of Iola's bags yesterday - it showed up today about the same time we showed up. We had a great flight - Lunch at Mimi's at the end of John young. Sundae's a girardelli. Supper in Mara. No body was hungry enough for boma. I wonder why?

Tomorrow Port Canaveral. Can't wait.

I can't believe this - I am not packed yet. Had a doctor's appointment so I just got home and found a "URGENT" message from DCL that they have now gone from 3 mixology sessions to 2. After spending hours trying to get you into the group you all wanted with the people you wanted to be with. I have done my best to put you into your second choice and with the people you want to be with. Also worried people won't see this.

We were up at 4am this morning and got to Jetty Park before5. They let in some of the cast members and then let us in about 5:20. We had a perfect spot for viewing. There were about 25 Disney Buses full of cast members. It was still dark when we saw spotlights from the Dream coming up the channel. We thought they would slow down until it was light, but Disney had a surprise for us. All of a sudden a group of power boats came down with kites that lighted up, They made all different designs in the sky. The Dream came slowly in and played When You Wish Upon A Star. I thought it was going to have a different horn, but it was so nice to hear it. Then all of a sudden there were fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!. It was some site.Like I said we have a perfect spot. They stopped right in from of us for the fireworks. Now we know why they did not wait until it was light. Disney passed out the big Dream hands for everyone to wave. There was a lot of clapping and shouting. It was a pure Disney show.

There was so much security at the port and on the water. I don't know where they got so many police and other coast guard boats. I don't think the President of the US ( no matter who he is) would have gotten better treatment.

After it passed us we drove down towards the terminal and it was getting a little lighter then and we could see Donald and Sorcerer Mickey on the back

Now I am so tired and still have a lot of things to finish up , but it was worth is. Still don't know if the three ships are going to meet up.Maybe Disney has another surprise for us.

We could see it from our room! Then tonight we drove over to the port to see it. It is SOOO big!

Made it to Boardwalk with wine bottles unbroken. Checked in then went and had a great dinner at Kouzinna, afterwards we watched the Epcot fireworks from our balcony. So tired after traveling all day, 3AM Pacific time was a long time ago.

You'll get tickets but not everyone said they could come onany day like you did. Some had plans and could only make one or two of the three. Others wanted to be in the same group with the people they were traveling with. I had gotten that all taken care of when I first gave her the schedule. She had asked if she should just take the listing of the 15th and split it down the middle. I hope that she didn't do that because I didn't respond immediately. I didn't read her message until after she had left for the day, the message was sent at 4:45. Oh well, nothing I can do but go pack. I leave at 7:00 am PST tomorrow so I'll try calling her before I go. It is a non-stop flight that doesn't get in until 6:30pm E time, so if I don't reach her will need to see what we can do on the ship.

Great summary. I was there too...came in on bus #7. I loved those kites and the fireworks were a nice touch. I only wish we could've seen it in a bit more light. Alas, they put us back on the busses and sent us back to work.

Hi All! The drive down from MD was long but uneventful---I am in the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios---we'll only have 1 day to see all of the Harry Potter stuff---we've never cheated on the mouse before!

The first thing we did was call about our dog Bandit---the breeder says he is fine but I am sure I will worry about him until we get back on the 25th. Sigh. He is eating better than us---pot roast with all of the fixings!

We also made a last minute run to a drug store----I was packing until 1:30 am. Sigh. But don't worry---I remembered the nametags and our passports!

I can't wait to meet you all---It is finally beginning to feel real after talking about it for sooooo long!

Glad to hear people are making their way here. it's been fun and exhausting and relaxing all since we got here (several hours late) saturday. We're doing one last dinner at Yachtsman Weds night at 830, then final packing to go to prt in the morning Wow! cant' believe it's here.

that said, not the best Disney impression! We're DVC members but everything is in our friends name (makeing some things more diffficult as the room's inn their name and WE are the DVC people), the room keys didnt allow charging at first. Been here since early sunday and tonight (Tuesday late) is the first we've had active internet (it's supposed to be full time and free for DVC people, but it hasn't worked), and stuff like that. but at least the restaurants have been good wth our friends new allergy and such.

Wow, in 48 hours i'll probably have already had our first fight with my DD on board! he he! because the anticipation of actually getting to spend time together, we'll fight at first MAYBE and then just be glad to be together!

Hey, those you who live in Orlando, any suggestions as to an Office Depot or Kinko's or whatever that would be convenient to our trip from AKV to the port? We're renting a car so we can stop. We've been here since Sunday so I didn't get to print the program out and I just do better with a hard copy than looking at a screen.
