From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

Is she soon off on a shakedown cruise as I don't want her messing up our plans at the terminal!!!!;)

I am sure I heard that the Dream would be in port until the 7th.

1 sleep to go for us ! Yay ! Our flight is 2 days away, but as far as I'm concerned, our holiday starts at the hotel tomorrow. Last morsels of packing today, and a few loose ends to sort out, and that's it. I'm sooooo glad I finished work yesterday - it was manic enough in there then. Today and tomorrow will be hellish !

I hope to check in at the GCH, but if I'm not in time, then want to wish all my cruising buddies a wonderful Christmas, and happy times spent with family and friends :)

"See you" in a few days !

Cheers,
Sally :)

Have a safe journey.

Things were much calmer at work today and I got my admin day. They also rescheduled my missed admin day for December 29th so all should be good.

I had a good post day. Graham's last Christmas present arrived and the last bits that I needed for the Fish Extender gifts and the jewellery workshops have arrived as well. The nicest surprise is that my dress for the vow renewal has arrived. It is absolutely gorgeous and I am so pleased that I ordered it.

I have started on finishing off the Fish Extender gifts. They have ended up somewhat different from what I had originally planned, but I love them and did not like the prototype of the original design. So far I have made 10, but I think the majority will be done by the end of tomorrow.

Good Evening Cruisers!

I hope things are slowing down for some of you, especially those that have had a rough start to the month :(. Alan, if it makes you feel better we're on pace for record breaking snowfall here in Minnesota...Granted we know how to deal with it, but it still isn't always fun. My parent's dog had to go to the vet last night with Pancreatitis. Few hundred dollars later he's on drugs and will thankfullly be off of them just in time for our trip (Would hate for our house/dog sitter to have to deal with that). I'm finally having time to get caught up and to get excited for the cruise. I'm excited to meet all of you! By the way, I just got an iPad (christmas gift to myself) I can't remember if there is Wi-Fi on the ship or not, I know you can use internet in the cafe but is there wifi? Also has anyone ever known if the computers in the cafe have Skype on them? It'd be nice to be able to video chat (I have my webcam) or to at least IM friends and family from back home.

Yes, there is Wi-Fi, but it is somewhat temperamental and very slow. As far as I am aware, Skype is blocked on the ships.

So i heard from a reliable source that the cruise is sold out but there's like 300 kids on board! so some of the kids activities will be reingineered for adults to have fun with! and there will be more adult type activities and more older adult type activities. interesting. heard that there are 1800 people on board (not sure if sthat includes kids but i guess a lot of rooms going to 2 to a rroom). fun fun!!

The Internet connection is far too slow for things like Skype or video. Imagine hundreds of people trying to share one DSL line and you have the general idea.

It is very expensive and you have to purchase minutes and log in in order to access the Internet.

Bad news for those who want to stay connected, but good news for those of us who finally have a good excuse to not be connected for a while :rolleyes1

That sounds great.

I guess this means we should look at using the family pool and hot tubs to escape the crowds? :confused3

Soo Excited. Thank you!!

On a personal note...One of our pups was adopted today! So..two adopted this week and one left..I am so happy!

Also went to the doctor's again today for blood work...I seem to be doing better..will continue on my meds for the cruise. One test came back last week as negative so hoping this one does too and I will be happy happy!

Amazing how much your world can change in a week! :)

No need for a checkbook for the shirt. val

Oh, you just want my first born child? :woohoo: He's on the cruise with us... His wife will probably pay YOU to take him! :rotfl2:
Seriously, we'll take care of everything once we're onboard the Wonder. Thanks again!

The website still shows cat 11b and 11a inside rooms, as well as 6a, 5a and 4a outside rooms available. I seriously doubt we'll be a sell out. However, the previous WB Panama Canal cruises have been very kid light. The one in '05 was the first time they opened the kid's clubs to adults. We got to make Flubber. The alcohol tastings were packed. Serenity Bay was wall to wall adults and the main beach was empty (however, that was the cruise that Serenity Bay emptied very quickly after an unfortunate incident - then the main beach filled up).

Are you the first of our cruisers to set off? I hope you have a Happy Christmas. Safe travels.

Shushhh is here!

No, the Check book was to encourage Bob with!

Oh we HOPE they open the kids clubs to Adults! The furry kids (Dimples, Mozz and Yampa) want to go down and PLAY!

Glad the hoiday schedule seems to have worked out though and thanks again for organizing the smug mug!
Thanks and you're welcome :goodvibes

Hubby's thought exactly!!!

Yeah about the puppy!!! Pixie dust for more negative test results!!

Anybody heard of/used Lotus Transportation for travel to LAX? I have searched a few companies and they have a great rate of $49 for up to 5 passengers. I called and talked to a gentleman who was extremely friendly and helpful. I expressed my concern of not knowing what time we'll be able to disembark and he stated it was no worries, they do this all the time and understand that times are different. I could only find one review and it was a 5/5 star but one review is hard to go by.

I also called Super Shuttle. The lady was not so friendly but helpful and stated they do fill the vans to capacity and that may delay us a bit. We have a 12:40 flight so I don't want to be delayed too much.

Hoping that some from the LA area will have some info on Lotus to help me decide. THANKS!!!

We can still Skype from a personal laptop using the wi fi, I hope?? :surfweb:
I heard that skype cannot be used at all, even on a personal laptop. It takes too much bandwidth and the internet access is slow anyway (and not cheap too!)

Yay for the pup and yay for the good test results!

T(however, that was the cruise that Serenity Bay emptied very quickly after an unfortunate incident - then the main beach filled up).

That incident now needs to be relayed! Curious minds want to know (well I do anyway - I'm nosey! :lmao:)

Des, so happy for you and the puppies, we'll keep the pixie dust going for the last one! I hope the rest of your tests come out negative too and you're feeling shipshape before your trip.

You can't leave us hanging like that...

We are booked with Lotus. DH researched and we are getting picked up approximately an hour after docking. We are to call. We have six people going to Anaheim area; different hotels for $90. Hope this helps.

Corinna, after the terrible days you have put in at work lately, no one deserves or needs a vacation more than you, unless it would be my dd.I wish she and my dsil could join us on this cruise, but they can't be away for that much time. She is still so stressed out from the surgeries, the move and her ever stressful job that she has no time to unwind. Maybe it will be a relief for me to be away for awhile! I worry about her stress level. She is too much of a perfectionist. I did finish the holiday soup and cookies are on the adjenda for tomorrow!

Are we still doing the Zip line in
PUERTE VALLARTA

It will not pull up on the menu. Is there a problem?
