I heard a rumor that it would be docked at the RCI dock since no cruise ships are in port Mon-Wed. When we leave, it will move to the DCL dock to load up for the 1/7 cruise. Just rumor (or speculation).

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS UPDATE – Calling all Champagne Girls and Wanna-bes (all are welcome)
How it Works: Ladies wear pink boas and tiaras and enjoy conversation and beverages, especially champagne. The meeting is held on a sea day in the afternoon. Panama Canal Champagne Girls Celebration - The PC cruise ladies have voted for an organized tasting but, if this is not possible, will meet on our own. Of course the event will be captured for posterity, by a photographer from Shutters and/or our own. DCL Request Department representative, Dorothy Ednie, has advised that our reputation precedes us and that she has scheduled Champagne Girls events before. She anticipates the cost per person will be about $15. I have sent her a count of 53 as the number of ladies who have indicated they will attend.

Update: Still waiting to hear from DCL. Have heard from everyone confirming they are still 'in' and providing the info DCL will need. Thanks!!

Found boas', tiaras and even pink gloves and hair extensions at the dollar store in the Children's Christmas Stocking Stuffers section if you are still looking for yours.

The following ladies are packing their pink boas and tiaras in anticipation of confabulation and libations, especially champagne, and of course amazing merrymaking. While I will not be sending any participant specific information to DCL until I get the final confirmation and post the info, giving you a opportunity to change or rescind your request.

Mixology and Hawaiian Shirt Contest Update

The Disney Dream is docking at 4:00 am January 4, 2011 at Port Canaveral!

I hope she's still there on Jan 6th. I was going to cancel my Nov 2011 cruise on the Dream since now it looks like we're doing a cruise on the Wonder in Mar 2012, but I couldn't make myself cancel it. I took a few days off the WDW portion of the Nov trip instead.

Hubby gets off tomorrow around 9 am after a 27 hour shift, then he goes back to work on Thursday, then off Fri, Sat. and Sun! This is the first time in several years we've had him home both Christmas Eve and Christmas (with neither a few times)! I've even got him home on New Year's Eve, but he has to go in on New Year's Day for a 24 hour shift. Anyway, hoping to get a bunch of my cruise to do list done while he's home.

There should be rules about those nasty shifts! I don't think they do anybody any good except that the elders thik you have to "pay your dues". That's a big W for whatever from me...Glad the hoiday schedule seems to have worked out though and thanks again for organizing the smug mug!

Last morsels of packing today, and a few loose ends to sort out, and that's it. I'm sooooo glad I finished work yesterday - it was manic enough in there then. Today and tomorrow will be hellish !

I hope to check in at the GCH, but if I'm not in time, then want to wish all my cruising buddies a wonderful Christmas, and happy times spent with family and friends

Valerie asked me to look for a "Mexican" shirt at Salvation Army while she was looking for more books. I passed up the t-shirts that said Cabo Wabo Tequila and pulled out the below. Valerie pulled on a blouse and sweater over her shirt and modeled it so you could see its shape and size. The pattern repeats a bit on the back (see mirror). Yup, it says XL on the little tag, and "Made in Guatemala." It feels like it's never been worn or washed -- new out of closet. Maybe we San Franciscans shouldn't use that phrase....

It was realllllly expensive: $2.50, no tax, no shipping charge. If you want it, we'll bring it for you. Let us know. Valerie won't let me be the Frito Bandito, so I'm not going to play Mexican dress-up.

Good Evening Cruisers!

I hope things are slowing down for some of you, especially those that have had a rough start to the month . Alan, if it makes you feel better we're on pace for record breaking snowfall here in Minnesota...Granted we know how to deal with it, but it still isn't always fun. My parent's dog had to go to the vet last night with Pancreatitis. Few hundred dollars later he's on drugs and will thankfullly be off of them just in time for our trip (Would hate for our house/dog sitter to have to deal with that). I'm finally having time to get caught up and to get excited for the cruise. I'm excited to meet all of you! By the way, I just got an iPad (christmas gift to myself) I can't remember if there is Wi-Fi on the ship or not, I know you can use internet in the cafe but is there wifi? Also has anyone ever known if the computers in the cafe have Skype on them? It'd be nice to be able to video chat (I have my webcam) or to at least IM friends and family from back home.
