Not a good weekend. Both my football teams lost this weekend. Alabama and Florida. Had to work short but what is new there. Dec 1 I can decorate the tree for Christmas! Saturday is my birthday so I am getting a new Iphone! Also starting on getting some new items for the cruise and downloading books to the Kindle.

For those of you who've done other PC, TA, and/or other longer cruises, did any of you bring the photo matte to drop of at Guest Services to be signed by characters? I was wondering, with it being a longer/special cruise, if you got a lot more characters sign it than on regular sailings. I got 11 signatures on my 4 night, and 13 on my 7 night. I'm debating if I should bring another one for this cruise or not, now that I have 2 already- I was curious if I'd get a lot more on this one or not, what do you think?

Seems to be a hit or miss, on 1 PC I got it back within a week and not a lot of characters signatures. Then, I sent it back and got more. Now they separate them by categories: Boys, Girls, Villians, Every character. Depends on how much time you give them. Put it in almost immediately and you'll get more but you won't see it until the end of the cruise most likely. One time I even forgot about it until it popped up on my bed on the 2nd to the last day in.

So now i have a non-cruise related question - canya believe it!! But i've got this worldwide expertise at my fingers, so i need to ask: I have an International Silver Company silver pitcher. I pulled it out ad washed it for thanksgibving, not realising in advbance that i'd need it. So i was polishing it before i put it away -backwards i know - and one of the legs broke off. :sad1: It was a wedding present 31 years ago. So i want to fix it. i've emailed who the company became, but wondered if any of you had any suggestions. I really want to fix it and keep it! Help!! Thank you!

If any of those can't help you, I have a friend you works in repairs. He was once sent a Lladro with broken miniscule flowers. He repaired it. He's over near the East Coast, well, GA, so if you can't find anyone, I can ask him if he can do it or put you in contact with him. Just let me know.

Thanks to those who gave me info on the autograph mattes, I think I'll go for it again. It does make such a cool frame to put around a favorite pic from the cruise!

Ok now I have another question, regarding banners for verandahs on PC day. Are they allowed, and if so, do a lot of people bring one? Do people buy them somewhere, or do they make personalized ones? If we are allowed to bring one I think it would be cool, I'm not totally creative but I can do some things, so if anyone has suggestions for what materials to use to make a simple one that would be awesome. Anything from like AC Moore or Michaels or something like that?

Well here I am, a crazy non-rev flying standby on a busy holiday weekend! Did not make the first flight and here's hoping for the next. I'm used to spending lots of time in airports. Thank goodness for iphone and ipads. BUT Mickey called and said I should come a day early for more FUN. When he calls you just gotta go!
If I can just get to Phoenix then the redeye to Orlando looks great.
Hope you all had a happy holiday weekend. Still no docs for me.

No docs here in CA -

for those in the US who already have docs - do they come regular mail or UPS?

I have been asked for more details on the tasting we are asked DCL to provide for the Champagne Girls and Mixology events. Based on what I have been asked by the members of this board I have asked DCL the following questions.

1) Can DCL provide formal tasting and instruction plus one full size alcoholic drink?
2) Will DCL provide a non-alcoholic choice for those who want to attend but not drink alcohol?
3) What would be the cost posted to each attendees cabin?
4) What is the price for alcoholic versus non-alcoholic?
5) Does DCL allow individuals under the drinking age in the room during the tasting?
6) What is DCL's definition of drinking age? answer is 21
7) When this the latest individuals can sign up for the tastings?
Once I hear back from them I will post their response. If there are any other questions you would like me to forward to them, let me know.

There is a schedule being created however, I think she is waiting until we know if DCL is approving all of our room spaces :rotfl2:

I need to contact them about the SM reveal - I haven't heard a word!

Well..out and about this morning helping my sister go shopping..I have been finished CHristmas shopping but I tag along with her. Glad I went last night - I found some carpis in the clearance section. Unfortunately, I am stuck at a 25 pound weight loss and as much as I hoped to lose more before the cruise - I was getting nervous about finding some clothes.

Hope everyone has an awesome day! Our Christmas lights went up yesterday - the tree will have to wait until next weekend after our rescue's adoption event. We are hoping out foster pups find a new home in time for the holidays!

I gave up on the wightloss at this point .... I think if I lost anything I would just find everylast ounce during first two days of the cruise .. :rotfl2:

I got so far behind on reading our thread. I went to WDW right before Halloween and, when I got back, work was so busy. I've spent some time each of the last few nights catching up on the posts since Halloween, and I am happy to say, I am all caught up (for now, at least).

I feel like time has really gotten away from me. The cruise is coming fast and so are the holidays. I better start making lists. I am big on lists. Someone once said, I would make a list of what to put on a list! But the first order of business will be checking out my room assignment.

In my youth we use to do the day after Thanksgiving Day Sales - thought it was fun to wait outside in the cold and the dark for the doors to open. There are some advantages to getting older and maybe smarter. I can't believe I am saying this but "in my days" people did push and try to take stuff out of your hands but you didn't hear about people being taken to the hospital because the crowds pushed them down and then stepped on them to get in the doors. This is just a shame on us and how we are teaching our kids what is appropriate and important. My editorial for the day. Val

I don't know about that .... I am still in therapy working out the "cabbage patch" seeking Mom's .... :rotfl2:

Sherri I've added the question concerning the latest time people can sign up for the tastings to the list. Will pass it on to DCL.

I just have to ask ... what is boxing day? I have heard that term a few times.

Boxing Day is the day after Christmas in the UK.

From Wikipedia

"The traditional recorded celebration of Boxing Day has long included giving money and other gifts to those who were needy and in service positions. The European tradition has been dated to the Middle Ages, but the exact origin is unknown and there are some claims that it goes back to the late Roman/early Christian era; metal boxes placed outside churches were used to collect special offerings tied to the Feast of Saint Stephen.[2] In the United Kingdom, it certainly became a custom of the nineteenth-century Victorians for tradesmen to collect their "Christmas boxes" or gifts on the day after Christmas in return for good and reliable service throughout the year. [3] Another possibility is that the name derives from an old English tradition: in exchange for ensuring that wealthy landowners' Christmases ran smoothly, their servants were allowed to take the 26th off to visit their families. The employers gave each servant a box containing gifts and bonuses (and sometimes leftover food). In addition, around the 1800s, churches opened their alms boxes (boxes where people place monetary donations) and distributed the contents to the poor. However, the exact etymology of the term "boxing" is unclear and for which there are several competing theories, none of which is definitive"

We have a room assignment... 6303. Booked 11B GTY and got 11B. Very first cabin forward, so it should be a very quiet location in case we need a nap or DD18 wants to sleep in. Being on deck 6 will make it easier to keep to my pact to use the stairs to burn a few extra calories while on the cruise. Laundry is just down the hall. I will let Jeff and Val know my room assignment.

I bought Jeff's T-shirts tonight from Zazzle. I do not know how to customize or do anything but buy what Jeff made up for our Cruise. Thank you - I am happy.:hippie:
Off to do laundry. I keep checking it - I'm a lookie lu.
