Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in a few days because I've been dealing with extreme vertigo. Meds are working now and I don't feel like I'm spinning out of control.

I've gotten everyone's information for bracelets down. Linda can you place something on the front page about an Oct. 22 deadline for ordering, please?

As far as what the bracelets say, I have no opinion. I was just using the thread theme to keep things uniform. I talked with the company this morning and they advised no more than 25 characters on each side. If we want to run a poll that's fine with me. I just need a decision by Oct. 22.

Still praying for Tink to come home!

Carly and I are off to see So You Think You Can Dance tonight!

Thanks Tenya for updating about the bracelets. I hope you feel better soon!

Here are the 4 choices for wording we have that were submitted so far:

  1. From WDW to DL with Love / January 2011
  2. Disney Wonder / Panama Canal Cruise 2011
  3. January 6, 2011 / Moving Day for the Wonder
  4. The WONDERful Panama Canal 2011

The first three meet the requirements of <25 characters per side (again the slash represents the separation between the front/back, it wont be on the bracelet). The 4th choice is longer than 25 characters, but it is all one phrase- Tenya, do you know if this is okay, instead of having it designated as front and back for a combined 50 characters, is it okay to have something like choice #4 as just one phrase with 31 total characters?

I think we should set a deadline to submit ideas to Jeff, and then after that deadline he'll setup the poll so we can vote and still give everyone plenty of time to order before 10/22. How does that sound?

Des, exactly what I was thinking......then I thought if we got there a little early, just maybe a little more time sailing:rolleyes1

btw...that was me on FB:cutie:

LOL..I am so slow about accepting friend requests (like it is so difficult!). All accepted! And an entire group on the boat would be so much fun!

We we have had an exciting week here. We have had to change a passanger to our cabin. My husband is no longer and my Mom is in his place. My husband is from Croatia and we generally go every other year usually in the spring but last spring my husband got promoted at work so spring and summer are very busy and did not know if he would be able to go to Croatia then. He has not seen family since April of 09. Plus our 10 yr aniversary is next fall. Well to make it short my DH will fly to Europe shorlty after we leave on the cruise and come back before I get back. It was a very hard decesion to make but it is a done deal. My mom is 79 and in very good health but now have to rethink some shore excursions. I think I can still most of them. Had to adjust most of our ADR's and had to change resorts. No since having a 1 bedroom if there are just 2 of us. We are now back home at Kidani Village we do have to move after 1 night into a regular standard view from a Savanah. I have wait listed for both types so we do not have to move. Hope I can stay in the room for all nights instead of moving.
Lexi

Sorry to hear this ... I know he will be missed.

Secret Mickey - I haven't forgotten those who signed up on the 2ns shift - I am still trying to contact 2 of the original SM to make sure they are participating.

Once I hear from them, I will let you know and you can start your shopping and I will assign the 2nd shift! Thanks for the understanding.

Sorry for the delay!

Hi everyone,

I haven't had a chance to be on this board for a few days... been super busy! But, I am hoping to catch up today on all the posts.

My parents are coming on the cruise with us. They are flying in the day before, staying at the Hyatt at MCO, and then they want to rent a car and drive to the port.

We are going to WDW several days before the cruise, so we'll be coming from WDW to the cruise. My parents want to rent a mini-van that is big enough for all of us (it'd be a total of 6 people, plus all our luggage), so then our family and my parents can all drive together to the port.

I have 4 questions regarding this:

1) we've always done the Disneycruiseline Motorcoach to port, so can someone here tell me which car rental agencies from MCO allow you to 1) do a 1-way car rental, and 2) have a drop-off close to port??

2) How do you drop off? Does the driver drop everyone off at port, and then the driver takes the car to the car rental drop off place, turns the car in, and gets a shuttle to port, or do they have to walk?

3) Also, what generally (ballpark) have you paid for a 1-way minivan rental from MCO to port?

4) Since my family will be staying at WDW, and my parents will be at MCO, do you know if we could take the Magical Express back to MCO from WDW just to get back to MCO so we could meet my parents there? That way, they won't have to find their way to WDW to pick us up, and then drive to port. Or, maybe it's easiest for them to just pick us up at WDW? Any insight from all you more experienced cruisers??

I just want to make this as least complicated as possible... there's a part of me that thinks maybe my family should just take the Disneycruiseline motorcoach, and then just let my parents rent a smaller car and meet them at port.... of course, that'd the the more expensive option for my DH, kids and I.

Thanks!!
Kathy

There are places that you could pick a vehicle up at WDW and then you could pick your folks up at the airport and head over together. Just another option. I think both Budget and Avis have location in the hotels across from DTD - we used Avis last year and just walked over from SSR. Worked like a charm.

does anyone have a FE count? I want to get ready.
I don't think there's a final count yet, but looking at the website Jeff's been putting together for us, there are currently 57 staterooms that have indicated participation. If you want to know actual # of people in those 57 staterooms you can cross check and count on the "Who's Going" page of the site.

The fish extender list is on page 1. I started working on our gifts. Hope I can finish what I started:surfweb:

We just had a huge storm with lots of wind dammage, but I was lucky. It is a good thing I got my big trees pruned when I did or I could have had some serious problems!

I love the picture of Tink. Keeping her in my prayers!

Hi everyone!

I know you are tired of hearing about the Secret Mickey .. sorry :headache:

I wanted to let you know - I am still waiting for 2 familes to confirm thier participation. I have sent a PM to the Disers that it affects so if you did not get a PM me from me asking you to personally hold off on purchasing, please go ahead.. you are good to go!

As for the 2nd shift - I am just waiting for 1 Diser who signed up to confirm if they want to participate as individuals or a couple...once I hear from them..I will get those out right away!

Sorry for the delay... I just want to make sure everyone who participates has someone buying for them!

Dateline Columbus, GA

Just had an AMAZING meal at Buckhead Grille. I would definitely come back to this one - just not order dessert. Food was divine and service impeccable.

I have 4 questions regarding this:

1) we've always done the Disneycruiseline Motorcoach to port, so can someone here tell me which car rental agencies from MCO allow you to 1) do a 1-way car rental, and 2) have a drop-off close to port?? Avis and Hertz were two I've found

2) How do you drop off? Does the driver drop everyone off at port, and then the driver takes the car to the car rental drop off place, turns the car in, and gets a shuttle to port, or do they have to walk? NO walking. I will be doing it this way.

3) Also, what generally (ballpark) have you paid for a 1-way minivan rental from MCO to port? don't know - renting for two days to drive to Disney and go shopping ~200.

4) Since my family will be staying at WDW, and my parents will be at MCO, do you know if we could take the Magical Express back to MCO from WDW just to get back to MCO so we could meet my parents there? If it was me, I'd rent the van when I got to MCO, drive to Disney - drive back to pick the 'rents up at MCO and head for Port. In fact, that IS what we're doing.

Two of my 70+ yo roommates are zip lining. Would your mom want to join them?

We found this code with Avis works pretty well as well. Especially for the minivan. We found it on mousesavers - C066983

Does anyone know at what time tomorrow Palo and Shore excursions will be available to book? Is it a EST or PST?

Thanks

CG

It is midnight EST - 9 PM PST...

And I hope the Disney web site does not shut down for you like it did for me when I was booking! It was not fun, but got things done at long last! I am sure it is a very busy time! Good luck and may you get everyone get everything they want!:cloud9:
