I doubt it has anything to do with the CC level as I had the same problem last year when I had 7 cabins linked. If you have more then 4 cabins linked then each cabin has to book their stuff separately. If I would have known that I would have linked them up differently.
Yup. I checked to see if I can get my friend at work who us one of the 5 rooms booked. It won't let us book for him till the 8th because he is silver.

We might be doing the horseback riding in Manzanillo if it's still available by the time us Silver folks get to book our excursion.

I think it will be Sail & Snorkeling in Aruba, Monteverde Trainforest in Puntarenas, Las Caletas Hideway for Puerto Vallarta, probably will do the whale watching in Cabo and if I can squeeze in the Blown Glass Company.

Anyone have info on the Monteverde 'Trainforest'?
I don't think you'll have a problem...everything was still available except for one of the dolphin things. If you want any specifics on some of the excursions, let me know and I would be happy to look it up.

Day 9 - Puntarenas

Monteverde 'Trainforest'
Friday, January 14, 2011
8:00 AM - 5:15 PM

On this tour you will:
  • Board your bus and travel approximately 2 hours to the train station at the cloud tropical forest.
  • Listen to your guide as he explains how a Costa Rican visionary couple had a dream to create an environmental friendly way explore the country's cloud forest and its biodiversity. This dream came true with the opening of the Monteverde "Trainforest".
  • Travel approximately 45 minutes aboard a comfortable and beautiful classic train replica. Admire the natural richness that dwells one of the world's most famous tropical cloud forests . Travel through a tunnel, over four amazing bridges and see spectacular views of the forest (on clear days).
  • Arrive at a lookout point in the forest where (on a clear day) you'll be astonished by the spectacular sight of the Arenal Volcano's perfect cone and its manmade lake . During your 1-hour visit you'll have the option to take a nature walk (not accessible for wheelchairs), shop for souvenirs or simply enjoy the freshness and the views of this amazing forest.
  • Re-board the train and travel through the forest back to the main station.
  • Enjoy a Costa Rican lunch (salad, white rice, chicken or beef, steamed vegetables, bread, fruit juice, coffee) included in the price of your tour.
  • Board your bus and start the journey back to pier. A quick comfort stop will be made at "La Cuenca" where you can also take pictures of the river or browse the shops.
Duration: 8.5-9 Hours
Total Price: $109 (ages 10 and up), $99 (ages 3-9)

Booked the Sail & Snorkeling Aruba (for now, might do something private instead)

Beside doing a general google search on excursions, I found youtube to be a big help.

I've been waiting, watching, hoping, and praying, that special rates would be announced for this cruise. Last night it happened! FL resident rate for Cat 9 ($1650) and Cat 5 ($2100) became available.

Now I need to decide if after waiting from day 1 it is worth it. I held a reservation until the PIF date and cancelled hoping this would happen, problem is I was hoping for a bigger discount. While waiting I started thinking about the Christmas 11 day cruise on the Magic.

I will decide by noon EDT. Any input is appreciated.

Everyone (Florida residents) rebook and save!!!!!!

Man I just checked it out. WOW. Great rates. I know the code eventhough I can't use it. Now I hope they offer an interline rate. If they do, I am going to a 5C because if the rate is at least the same it means only shelling out another $400 to upgrade from a 11B to a 5C and I would get paid tips.

All Done!!

Really up in the air for Puntarenas.........anyone else planning to go to the volcano?

We are (there's me, Jeff, Jack, my mom. her boyfriend, and my geologist brother

We are going on the volcano (all 3 of us) and are looking forward to it. our secret is that we're bringing the cribbage board and books =) Would love to have people to chat with on the bus though! (you know ...the ones from here :))

The bus isn't that bad. On the way up we have a longish stop at the butterfly farm and on the way back we have a long stop at the artist colony. I believe the "drive" times include these stops.

We booked the Rain Forest Aerial Tram in Puntarenas. I'm thinking one of the Beach Resorts for Manzanillo. Anyone else planning to go to one of these, if so which one?

We're doing karmina. Yes the times are late afternoon, but even by then, the weather is going to be cooler, so I'd rather be outside in the warmer afternoon

I checked this morning and it's not worth us switching. With our 10% and onboard credit we would only save about $200 and it's only available for cat 9D (lowest cat 9). I'm happy with my SPH 10A.
Interestingly, they lowered the adult price but INCREASED the child price! Our 2yo DD regular rate is $839 for a cat 9D, putting in the FLR code her rate is $1237.50! Very dissappointing that DCL would actually increase rates on a discount code! :sad2:

Hi all - I've updated the cruise list.

291 people in 111 staterooms, traveling as 94 parties.
This is 12.13% of the normal guest capacity(2400) of the Wonder.
This is 10.78% of the maximum guest capacity (2700) of the Wonder.
This is 12.66% of the available staterooms(877).

As of right now, we have 19 unconfirmed, though I know a couple are on the TA. On October 5th, I'll send another notice to anyone unconfirmed. On the 15th, they'll get dropped.

Please keep an eye on the website and let me know if info changes. I'll be updating the map shortly now that most of the confirmations are in. Interestingly, we've grown a lot lately. We're now 1 out of every 8 rooms on the ship.

Looks like all the Tea times in Palo are already taken. It shows "No reservations currently available" for me. But that's okay. DH and I decided we don't want to do tea again, just didn't think it was worth it the last time we cruised.

I assure you there is plenty of room. It's just going to need to be on board.

I need some clarification on the FE gifts. IS it one gift per cabin or does each person in the cabin get a gift.? It was like that on the TA and it got to be a bit much- there were 100 cabins. Are we doing anything for the children in the cabins.

Is anyone doing the submarine in Aruba, and the Aeriel tram in CR?

Hope there are things left for us silver members.

For FE, it can be whatever you want. Things can be a simple as Halloween type candy, or as complex as you want. You can do something for the entire room or for each individual person. Some people are simply personalizing stuff for the children only, and that's fine too.

Long story short, don't kill yourself over FE gifts. The purpose is to be a nice surprise when you get back to your room.

Another 4 steps closer...DCL excursions booked, non-DCL excursion decided (and to be booked today), Palo ressies for Brunch & Dinner...:surfweb:

Our excursion choices ~~ Aruba / :banana:Banana:banana: Bus (thanks LindaBabe!!), Costa Rica / DH & DD are enjoying the Canopy Zipline & I'm taking the Coffee tour (I'm terrified of heights, that's why I'm 5'2'':lmao:), PV / DIS group Zip (DH & DD) and non-Zip (me, again) (thanks WeLuvDCL!!), Manazillo / drinking with Alan, Cabo / DIS group Whale-watching (thanks Tinkerbel129!!)...to all who researched, commented, cajoled, etc -- our complete & total gratitude for the excursion information:love::lovestruc:love:

looking forward to double-digit countdown...now to book return flights, do I really have to go home????

TTFN...

I noticed the same thing regarding the kids rate and that is why we are making the decision to do on the Christmas cruise. 11 days for $5118 versus $6564 for 15 days + airfare, both for CAT 9. Both cruised would be great but with the DCL Christmas decorations, etc. we decided it is a better offer. We'll do the PC sometime, maybe not on DCL but we can book a balcony cabin during school breaks for the same or less.

I have a question. Where on the DCL website do you input the codes for Military rates or Florida Resident rates? Does anyone know if they have released any Military rates for this cruise.

We're doing the aerial tram in costa rica. It's myself, DH, DS-6, and DD-3.

DH and I did the submarine on our honeymoon and the semi-sub with the kids in 2008.

We are doing a joint adult gift and then each child will get a gift.

Well, I was able to snag a tea for four and brunch for six and dinner for six. I have four rooms linked to ours. All the high teas disappeared within 20 minutes or so. I know once on board all can be reconfigured and people added. Now concentrating on excursions........thanks to all for the info. out there about alternative excursions; helps the budget.

Everyone have a good day.

You can't use the main search on the home page. Click on "Search for a cruise" and this gives you a different cruise search screen that allows you to enter a discount code. FLR is FL resident, MTO is military and KSO is Kids Sail Free. I've never know them to change.

I am finally caught up on my readying of the thread. Took pages of this thread last night when we went to see Young Frankenstein - Great Musical!!:lmao::rotfl2::banana:
Today I'm off to stay at GC DVC and attend the D23 event for this year at the Disneyland Hotel. My BF was to go with me, but she can't make it and I will miss her.
Finally taking some vacation days from work this year.:cheer2:
