Thank you guys. I will just sit on the info till I can tell. I guess a PM couldn't hurt as Disney can not read those but please if you do dint overwhelm me. If there is something you really want to know, I guess ask via PM,but as of right now I will sit on the info. Thanks.

Alan, glad your car didn't cost a bomb to fix!

For all those who've done the crossing before, was wondering when Disney releases the information for the various theme nights? Do they give much notice or do you tend to find out onboard? I guess because we're leaving home nearly a month before the cruise, it'd be nice to know before hand.

I think you usually find out on the DISboards when someone has an inside connection.

Personally, I don't really need to know what the theme nights are - I don't mind being surprised. I'm also not really picky on dining rotation - though I know some people really like to be in Triton/Lumiers for formal night. :cool2:

How about this. Instead of everyone calling DCL about it. I will post the email from my friend when I can. Then it will be on here. I will also PM Jeff the same info since he can put it on the website. This email also contains where you eat every night based on rotation. I hope that will help you all.

Okay, I'll be happy to take on that task as I can work on it at my own pace. If people can PM their ideas of things they "want" to do, I can start working out a general schedule...Also, I remember reading about people volunteering to help tutor kids on different subjects throughout the cruise. If the person who has that info would like to contact me, I could put that in as well--Something like: "Jan. 8 @ 1:00-2:00pm--Math (Algebra and Geometry) with (tutor name here) in Diversions"...I'm sure you get the idea:rolleyes1

~Melissa

We had a retired teacher on our PC cruise who did homework clubs a few times. I think she did charge a nominal amount but I could be wrong. I know some parents were thinking of doing work with groups of children but I don't think that actually happened in the end.

Alan, I'm so sorry I should have read the previous posts more carefully!!!! I wasn't fishing for info, didn't meant to put you in an awkward position. I was just generally asking if Disney actually tells their passengers details about the theme nights so they can bring stuff from home!

I have no desire to know my dining rotations! I don't really care.

Oh no worries what so ever. You did not put me in a strange position. What I was saying is once my friend tells me it is all good I will post. This way no one has to waste time calling DCL. That's all. Also you will not know your rotation, but the info I have may make you want to make a request of one that's all.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Certainly was a busy night around here:thumbsup2

Hi All,
On that line of thinking, has anyone volunteered to create the "program" for the group? I think I remember reading that someone usually takes all of the activities and puts them together into a program that each person can download and print as needed. I would be happy to create that if you would like...

~Melissa

Melissa, I will post your "program" on the first page of the thread if you would like to say exactly what info you would like and whether you want it by pm or email.

Wow, you go away for 5 days and you miss a ton of posts! We took an emergency trip to WDW. Stayed at Saratoga Springs. Liked it better this time than previous times. Really went to celebrate our anniversary, to get me away from the stress, and most important, to see DD off before she became a cruise CM. . . .
sherri

Hope your luck turns to the GOOD side soon!

I did add the SM reveal and the PJ breakfast to the calender. Jeff already put it in. I will look at the dates I gave him and PM you the details. Thanks for doing this!

Although I am not tutoring, I am putting together a "journal/fun book" of sorts. I will have the links posted and everyone can print them out if they choose.

Would you like that posted on the first post?

THAT's a nice tactful way to deal with it, Alan. MUCH safer for your chum. And when you do post it, I'll copy it to the first post so that you won't need to repeat yourself quite so many times. ;)

Linda you sure do a nice summary!

Alan thanks for putting me at ease. I shall wait and see what surprises DCL has in store for us.

I am currently frustrated. Don't know how I can go about getting a PALO reservation for the 11 of us. 1 short for the dining room and not able to get a big enough table doing the online thing. Problem also is that we're silver but the rest of the gang are DCL newbies. The inventory control Palo specialist wasn't that much help. They suggested that I try to book a 6 top table under my name and a 4 top table under DH's name and then make a request for PALO to put the tables together, but they can't guarantee that they'll do is for us. Also I distinctly remember on the med cruise that we could only a table that's as big as the dining party from our rooms. Sigh...any suggestions anyone?

Does anyone feel like joining a bunch of Australians for brunch or dinner? We have room for 3 if we get a private room!

.

Jen - Count me in for the wine party. I'll bring a bottle of something from RI. Heck, I'll also bring a bottle of coffee syrup. And maybe some Del's mix. Hmmmmmm... Anyone bringing a blender? :)

.

I have a "bullet type" blender I'm considering bringing, I love frozen drinks, but not the price for them.LOL It'll all depend on the packing though.

I don't see why you should n't have a chance at the private room...I've been in there with less people (8). Good Luck:wizard:

If it's brunch, remember to count "Grandma Linda" :rotfl2:

Wow, the wait is taking longer and longer!
I still haven't figured out what the process is to be added to the "gift exchange". I think maybe it hasn't started yet ..... :confused3

Alan - glad the car repair bill was lower than expected. And I cannot wait to see the schedule info your friend has shared!!

My DH can tutor advanced math, science, chemistry

Still no room assignment. :rotfl2:Are y'all sick of me saying that yet??

Tinkerbel - I would think you should be able to do something with dining. Fingers crossed for you!

Sherri - I too hope things get better for you. Glad you were able to take a short vacation.

OK off to make a payment!!

Doing the Paid in Full Dance :cool1: Happy that its all taken care of AND that the last payment pushed me finally over the threshold to the 140,000 frequent flier miles I needed to book my first class ticket in a lie-flat bed "seat" for my trip to Australia next year, double bonus!

I may need to take you up on that Math. Both my Girls are in gifted Math .... I am not the best help .....

The room assignments for our Sept 18th TA cruise were only done a couple of weeks ago, so you have a fair wait yet. Annoying isn't it?:headache:

..... Wait did they have TA rates on this cruise. I thought they didn't yet so we paid rack rate ....... First time ever! ......

We flew 1st class to Australia on our honeymoon. It was divine and the best!

If there are any high school/ college kids on board who need tutoring in anatomy and physiology, I'll volunteer my mom for that. Heck even some bio she can do. My mom is a nurse too (I swear she knew Florence Nightingale - probably taught her a thing or two). But she's taught nursing for the last 20+ years and has written text books and what not. A&P is one of her specialties (of course it was the bane of my existence in nursing school). I can also volunteer my brother for tutoring anyone in earth sciences (he's gonna love me for that). He's going for his doctorate in geology.
