From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 3

We are supposed to dock in LA at 9:30am. What time do you think we'll be able to get off? I have heard that disembarking in LA is not quite as efficient as it is at PC. What is the earliest flight I should book?

DH was wondering, how do you get from MCO to the radisson at port, or any of the other hotels? and from the hotel to the boat? i'm sure it was discussed but i forget as i was convinced he'd wanted to stay at WDW and take their transportation. but he wants to get there early, so he's trying to decide...

I've fallen waaaaay behind again - we've been on the South Coast celebrating DH's 40th with his parents.

Anyway, I now have oodles of posts to catch up with, which may take me a couple of days. Looks like there's been a lot of busy people !

We rent a car and turn it in over there in Cocoa. The hotels have a shuttle to the port.

Hi all! DS's puppy is recovering nicely from her coyote attack. I am just heartbroken for the folks who still have doggy depression. I pray for you.

Well, we survived the wedding! Aside from some incidents that were major when they happened (totaled car, priest heart problems, cake catastrophe) it was wonderful. It was like a fairy tale. They were both beautiful. We sent them off to Jamaica early (12:04) this morning. As my last wedding surprise I am redecorating their bedroom while they are gone. She really wanted a new comforter and sheets but I talked her into waiting until the dog stopped chewing. So she (he is in on the secret) will be amazed. She has intuition like me and usually figures out surprises, so this will be fun.

Thank everyone for their well wishes. I can now devote my entire attention to this cruise!! LOL

We will be docked well before 9:30. I have done Cabo to LA many times and every time we are along side and all tied to the Dock by 6:00. I am willing to bet that is the time they think everyone should be off the ship. I personally would not book anything before 12:30 as customs here is way more strict than in PC. That is just my opinion.

I personally would not book anything before 12:30 as customs here is way more strict in PC. That is just my opinion.

keep in mind LAX security is painfully congested compared to other airports. We arrive on a Friday,a popular travel day, so make sure to give yourself enough time to get to the airport and get through security. The good news is that San Pedro is not very far from LAX.

Not only the above, but for those of you using SWA (Thanks) that is a peek time of day for us. I also believe it is a holiday weekend so that may make things worse.

They usually open it around 10- They have to let the passengers off from the Wonder and get it ready for us. Usually it is fairly well organized and when you register you are given a number and then you wait until they call your number before you board- that is usually around 11-11:30. Since the ship is not full it should go fairly quickly.

OK DH is not hot on the renting of jeeps in Aruba. So....anyone doing the Banana Bus as seen in LindaBabes siggie??

Anyone book outside DCL? We have a 3 year old so many of the excursions are out for us. ??

Also, the butterfly farm.....anyone been there? reviews?

I am wondering if we can do the banana bus and then the butterfly farm....

We have a 3 yo too (well, 2y 11m at time of cruise). We are doing the De Palm Island Beach & Snorkling excursion. There is a beach and water slides (for all ages) and you could take turns snorkling. I've read some really great reviews. I can send you more info that I found if you are interested. Then we are just going to do some shopping and touring around the port.

I knew the wedding would be beautiful Now you need to take some time for you! You sound like a very organized person so I am sure you have this cruise all in line. We will be looking forward to seeing some wedding pictures soon.

Still hoping Tink will return soon! Jasmine went to the vet yesterday for her annual checkup and one shot and she is all worn out. Just not herself today. I won't let them give her more than one shot at a time because she is too little. She is really resting today for sure.

Glad puppy is doing good and the wedding was beautiful. I would love to see some pictures, including the cake!

Thanks! I guess the thing that had me confused was they have the dock times for the cruises in PC as 7:35. I thought we weren't allowed off until 8:00 on our Dec cruise. I guess I am wrong. I've only been one cruise, I still have a lot of learning to do

I am beginning we could have a dog watch on our main page. We have had so many dog stories in this group. My dd has been so touched each time I tell her about a dog and every time we talk she asks if Tink is home yet? Her dog is 13 12 years old and suffers with allergies and everytime I go down I can see how much more she has aged. She is truely their baby and when her time comes we will all be heartbroken. She and Jasmine never got along until after my dh's death and now they are fine. We like to say he is watching over them, but just all of a sudden they are fine together.I will take pixie dust anywhere it comes into my life!

Here is a picture of Jasmine and dd dog Ginger. Never would you have had a picture of the two together before and you can easily see how old Ginger is getting.

Her face used to be all dark brown. She is a Jack Russell.
