Well, not sure what's happening now. my dad is doing 100 days of medicare in a nursing care and then hospice. 'just not sure what to do now. i desperately want to go but dont want to be gone if he gets worse. this is horrible. i'm so sad.

Family must come first. Plain and simple in my book. The canal is not going anywere.

I was looking at a chart and somedays have been clasified as peek holiday travel time. So fares will be higher. The day my friends and us want to travel is Jan 4. That day has been clasified as a peek holiday travel day. The day before is also the same, but the 2nd and 1st is a day were we cut flights due to forcasted lack of demand.

We're hoping to fly into MCO on Jan 5th. Just curious how was that day classified? Peak or non peak? We're hoping to fly JB or Continental...not sure if same fare guidelines will apply.

Did you book Southern Elegance limo?? If so for which car and on which dates?? We are a party of 8 and really don't want a cargo van - where is the fun in that?? Just hoping they have more than one super stretch otherwise we will all have to share!!

They have more than one super stretch, we booked an expidition limo I think.
We said no to the cargo van too - no way in heck!

OK booked for one way MCO - port hotel - January 5th Stretch SUV - plenty of room!!

I will leave you a note for your trip in the morning. SE limo told me - hmmm I just booked this limo for the 6th from a WDW resort to the Disney ship - I said I think I know who that is for!!!

Look for my note!! And we will see you on board!! Now for a hotel room...

Just returned home from the vet..one of cats stopped eating and wasn't doing well. She had liver failure and had to be euthanized.

Life stinks sometimes!

we don't know anything yet, unless you aren't telling me something. why not look into purchasing trip insurance and maybe call DVC and see what happens if you have to back out last minute because of something like this, if you can get the points back or be credited somehow. i know thats the last thing on your mind right now, but it can't hurt to ask. or i can, if it's too difficult for you.

gpop comes first, absolutely. but we aren't there yet. he's not there yet. spend time with him now. he needs it, i'm sure. and make my overworked sister and cousins go often too, and ricky when he's home, to remind him that there are people who love him and care about him.

hopefully you can still come up here in a couple of weeks. a bit of a change of pace. if you both come, one of my CMs has said you can stay in his room. if it's just you, you can stay with me in mine.

And what is it about bad news today? A friend called me just a bit ago and told me that another friend of ours husband was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and it sounds like it's quite aggressive. ANd he's only 40! I don't really know him too well (and have only known her for about a year), but my heart aches for them. The have a 4 YO DD. Makes me feel guilty about worrying about airfare and such for this cruise when they facing this.

We loved southern Elegance last Nov, we reserved the cargo van and they picked us up both times in the stretch SUV with a trailer for the luggage! We had 11 of one way and 9 of us on the way back.

Sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis. Our close friend and neighbor is also fighting cancer with two boys under 10 yrs old. Life seems so unfair at times.

As for me - I've been AWOL from here for quite a while - just too busy with work and kids and kids' activities, really !

I've just checked the Southwest flights, and they are waaaay cheaper than our alternatives (flying out of LAX on 29th December). The only concern I have is that the flight leaves LAX at 8am. I'm wondering what time we'd need to check out of the DLH in Anaheim in order to make the flight ? It's DS's birthday the night before, so I'm not too sure how travel-worthy we're going to be prior to 6am......

Aside from that, I've been busy making changes to our PC booking - upgraded both DH's and my cabin to Navigator Verandahs - decided it was worth the splurge. I couldn't get side-by-side cabins, though - there's one cabin in-between our two, but not bad considering they'd originally been GTY.

We really ARE getting to the nitty-gritty now - time to start paying off big chunks of the bookings !

Oh - a couple of other questions - how many days of short-sleeved weather are we likely to encounter ? Will we be able to do much swimming ? From what I've read, CC water will be ice cold, but I'm hoping that as we go around towards Aruba, that the sea temp will improve ? I'm also assuming that the pools on board aren't heated in any way ? Yes, I'm a DCL novice !

Hope all is well with everyone else, and I'm hoping to get back to a bit more posting in just over a week, when the kids have three weeks of holidays from school.

You might want to keep checking Travelocity's website and see if a cabin next to you pops up. We're in the Navigator Verandah too and I managed to get 2 side by side by watching for cancellations. Right now 7628 and 5638 are available. Good luck!

Wow, I've been away for 2 days and there were 5 pages of posts. First I am sorry for everyone having bad health, pet problems, potty problems etc. Everything thing will turn out in time. Just a bad time now.

Second glad to hear everyone got their flights! I was really excited when I made ours so I know how you feel. Whew, one less thing to worry about.

I doubt DCL will start assigning rooms until 30 to 45 days before the cruise. I started checking our GTY for last Nov around 45 days out, but we didn't receive our assignment until 30 days before. Good luck, hopefully you'll get a nice upgrade.
