It is warming up here in Orlando at last!!! Just into our last 2 weeks of our 6 weeks trip, so it is about time.
It was GORGEOUS at Epcot today. Nice and warm in the sun, cool in the shade with a nice breeze. It's days like today that make me realize why we live in Florida.

Hello all!!!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend!!!
We went to DL Friday and it was beautiful!! The weather was perfect!! Warm in the sunshine, cool in the shade. Then it rained yesterday!! And today the sun is shining, but like Alan said, it's a little cool.

What did everyone do this weekend?

Hello everyone! Glad to see you all managed to get in some visits with the mouse and had safe travels. Jen, sorry to hear about your accident and I hope you are well and the stiffness is gone.

Oldest and youngest and I make a quick trip to Ohio to see my parents - my Dad has been in the hospital twice in the last month and I was pretty worried. He has emphysema and is now on oxygen all the time but the shortness of breath seems to be gone. I had all those worst thoughts and was pleasantly surprised. Now if he can just keep up with positive, forward motion, all will be OK.

Not much else - in the 40's here and lots of the snow is gone. The sun is supposed to shine for the next several days - yippee.

I'm so sorry about your dad. I know what you are going through. My dad also has COPD, along with failing kidneys and a bad heart. Everytime I see him,he seems to get weaker. It's no fun watching your parents go through all of that. I hope your dad is doing better.

Hi Everyone,

We just made the decision to change our cruise plans from the Baltic to this one!

I'm a little upset with myself because I was one of the ones that sat on the phone for hours the first day, secured a reservation and then decided we weren't going to do it so didn't pay the deposit... now it's gone up in price, but what can you do? One of the deciding factors was the airfare was going to be so expensive for us to Europe - $7k for 4. We did the west bound Panama in May 08 and had sooooo much fun so the switch was really a no-brainer... plus we are really excited there were different ports! We weren't overly impressed with Acapulco.

Anyways, on to the introductions:

Me - Jennifer
DH - Andy
DS - Colin (currently 7 but will be 8 when we go)
DD - Morgan (currently 5 but will be 6)

#8560

Also, my parents are coming with us, this will be their first Disney Cruise.

We were also thinking we would like to participate in the FE (and anything else that might pop up). We've never done it but there is always a first time for everything. I haven't had a chance to read the past posts so I will have to catch up but I'm look forward to getting to know all of you...:grouphug:

:welcome: frozenmickey :welcome:

We had a Baltic Cruise planned as well (now Dream 06/2011 cruise) -- gosh, the airline tickets were outrageous!!! DH had some heart murmurs over the shore excursions too :scared1:

Great weekend here ...Weather is Houston was gorgeous on Saturday, cloudy and windy today...can't wait for Spring to stay:cool1:

One week until our quick trip to WDW & SSR:woohoo:, counting down the days! Have a great week everyone!

Forget the air, 8500 without air for two in a cat 11:scared1::scared1: That is why we decided agenst it. Sorry DCL I love you but not that much.

Thanks Candy. Yes, it is hard and to live so far from them makes it worse. But, I can say, he was so much better than I had expected (I will say I had very low expectations) I am thrilled that we went. Hopefully we didn't wear him out.

It is looking more and more like we will be there with you staring at the ship. We will be the four exhausted adults chasing the two well rested little girls around the port, as I am sure they are the only ones who will get any meaningful sleep on our red-eye from LAX. See you there!

Are there instructions anywhere for making a fish extender?

FWIW google "locker pockets" this is the pattern I used for our last cruise. I modified it just a bit for width and length - but it was really easy and worked out great.

I think, and anyone feel free to jump in here, the fish extender width is max around 8 inches due to the doorframe. Length not so much.

Gail - I am hoping things continue to improve with your Dad.

FrozenMickey Family - Welcome!!

I see its a cat 4 - hmmm....still waiting for stateroom in Cat 5 - wonder what it would cost to jump up to a 4!!? :lmao: Honey, if you're reading this...just kidding!! Patiently waiting....:lmao:

Thanks Alan! Let us know....Patiently waiting for SWA to open Winter 2011 too :lmao:

On our last cruise we saw one that was about 5 feet long! Most of the bottom pocket was laying on the floor. :lmao: So I would say your max length should be about 3 feet, definitely no longer than 4 feet.

Our FE is very unique. My DH loves Stitch so I found a stuffed Stitch with one huge deep pocket. I love it because most items fit way down inside and no one passing by would know if there is anything in it.

Oh you are going to be waiting for a while. Like more than a year.

Wow! We were 3 in a Cat 11 for approx $5,000...it was the $6,000 in airfare:scared1: plus a weak dollar plus a pre-cruise & post-cruise stays plus excursions! We priced other cruiselines at 1/2 the price, but STILL couldn't handle the +++ :) -- so we'll enjoy the Dream with our extended family! And with Southwest, most of the family flies for the $5 Sept 11th fee + free, thanks to my many hours on their flights!!

Oh you are going to be waiting for a while. Like more than a year.

I love how the seasons don't match our expectations! Like when Universal says HP will be open "spring 2010", my expectation was Spring Break (next week) not May 29 (which is technically the middle of SUMMER in Texas -- where we have only 2 seasons, Hot:cool2: & HOTTER:rotfl2:) -- So "winter 2011" begins December 21st, 2010...right? Come on SWA, open those schedules :wizard::surfweb: we're waiting!!:flower3:

First thanks for all of your frequent flights. Second. We are not Air Tran or those others that are known for changing flight times. See the thing is when you release so far in adavance there will be changes and people will get upset that their times were changed. We think it better to wait, try and get it right so no changes will be needed. So just sit tight, relax, it will come. Remember March 23 we open thru Oct. 30. I will post on that day when we open for this cruise.

DH got his "Character Call" on Saturday. You should have seen his face when Mickey wished him a good cruise through the Canal. :lovestruc

Just had to share the good news. Jeff and I booked a 3 night Wonder cruise for April 22nd. The cast discount was too good to pass up. It'll just me the three of us. We don't anticipate doing much of anything except relaxing!
Lucky things.glad you are ok.
I don't think I've ever seen our thread this quiet for this long!
Thats cause I was on hols!

I just responded to you as well on the main page:rotfl2:, but thought I would give more info here. If we are not going into Orlando, we prefer to go to Melbourne - its smaller so the security lines are not as bad. They have similar car rental places and last time we even found a shuttle to take us from the ship to the airport. It was pricier than some of the MCO options, but for the convenience it was worth. Now remember I said the airport was small - well we knew that but stil said we would grab something to eat when we got there. Our options were LIMITED!!

:yay:I've marked the calendar to wait for the word:laughing::yay: Not complaining, just waiting:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

:welcome: BACK, Lynne -- How was the hols? Completely understand wanting to avoid MCO:thumbsup2, we're flying into Tampa this next week and should make better time to WDW (at least that's what I've told/sold to the family)...

Less than 10 months until we sail!!! Can I pack yet?

We are thinking of buying points to our DVC while on the cruise. Anyone ever done that. Either additional points at KV or points at Hilton Head or WV

We bought points at Vero Beach on our last cruise. We are hoping to add points at KV on the DVC member cruise in September. The bulk of our points are there - I am a planner, so we book the number of nights we need at KV eleven months out, and then if we feel like it, we try for the Villas at Wilderness Lodge seven months out.

We might even try to get into BLT seven months out. Did a member morning event there yesterday. Lots of fun and got to tour the building. The view from the balcony outside the Top Of The World Lounge was pretty nice.
