Always interesting to see the whole picture! As a pooh-sized girl myself, I am always concerned for those seated next to me feeling like a squished peanut. I support SWA's extra seat policy all the way! Sounds like not-so-Silent Bob knew the policy too and should be thankful SWA offered a voucher...

From what I understand he fit in the seat. Both armrests came down easily. He buys two seats because as he says, he's antisocial. And he got on another SWA flight later that day in one seat without a problem.
Either he doesn't fit and needs two seats, or does and the gate agent/ pilot/ whomever screwed up.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! My DH's uncle was accidently killed this week at work. It has been a stressful week for us. We were unable to all go to Oregon due to the cost so DH went by himself. He left on Friday and will be back tomorrow. I am just heartbroken for his family. His cousin is expecting a baby in about 2 months so we are worried about the stress on her.

So this weekend has been on the sad side for me.. I miss my hubby and wish I could be with the rest of the family.

It's awfully quiet around here! Just thought I would pop in to see how everyone is doing and how Valentines Day was for all of you My husband and I had a nice quiet day and then went out for a nice relaxing meal at a local restaurant that has a great atmosphere and even better food. They had a jazz band playing and we were there for 2 1/2 hours, it was wonderful! Since it was my last night to be bad before the diet started I really enjoyed myself: cheese fondue, caesar salad, side of mac and cheese, filet mignon with yukon gold mashed potatoes, a chocolate dipped strawberry and chocolate peanut butter pie My husband and I shared everything and it was waaay too much, lol. We ended up with some leftovers. After that we came home and watched Notting Hill. All in all a wonderful first married Valentines Day Hope everyone has a great week, we are expected to get quite a bit of snow here...I am hoping they are wrong!!

One thing about this whole thing that got me thinking. He said the pilot got involved. The only time I have ever had pilots get involved with passenger issues is when they are being balegerant. So I am willing to guess he got kicked off not for wanting someone to sit in that seat and getting upset on the plane and the pilot, who has the ultimate athority on who boards the plane, kicked him off for causing a uproar on the plane. Now do I think that the Oakland people should have advised him that his second seat would not make it through the stand by prossess, Yes they should have, but in today's day you do not make a fuss on a aircraft or you will get the boot. Of course I was not there but, I think this is what happened basied on my ten years experance, and he is one lucky dude that we let him fly period.

We get American airline in the uk, we will NEVER get over what you guys(service providers) put up with, they would get kicked off a flight in this country for a fraction of the cheek they give the workers!!!!!in the usa

You are so right. I was not there and will never know. Please remember, I am basing my theory on ten years experance working side by side with our pilots.

Wow and I thought we were to strict at times. Honestly though it os our job to get you were you want to go, but you need to act like an adult. I am sorry the Silent Bob is anti social, if you think about it, a airplane is a cramped confined space, not the best place for someone with that disorder. Well we will see how this plays out if anything else breaks. It is fun to guess on what happened.

You are so right. That is were the true story is, from the other passengers.

I'd be thrilled if the pilot removed a misbehaving passenger. Heck, I was thrilled last flight when the captain came out before the flight to say a few words, but what he was obviously doing was 'casing the crowd'.

First I want to make it clear just so their is no misunderstanding, I have no idea if he was acting the fool. I am just pointing out my experance with pilots. Also can you please explane what you mean by casing the crowd?

We will be flying to Orlando. Going on the Freedom in October. DD has some Southwest vouchers to redeem and she wants to book as soon as she can that day.

Not sure on what time you can book. You can always call reservations and ask.

I just realized that I've been MIA for months. I really didn't mean it. About the time my daughter turned 1, my computer time slipped away. As penance, I am reading ALL of the posts I missed (approx 150 pages worth in my estimation). I remember thinking that poll was so annoying to scroll past each time (I have a netbook with an 8.9 inch screen) that I'd come catch up in a week or two when it was down...never happened. I'm sooooo sorry. I will try to be good now and check in much more often. As far as I can tell so far, yes for the cruise certs, interested in a group FE gift (dry erase boards or whatever), yes staying at GCV for a couple days after, no not staying anywhere before we will drive down morning of and hop on. That's all I've got so far.
