hi everyone!

Just stopping in to say that I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Spring cleaning has started here and we enjoyed our first BBQ of the season. Our weather was gorgeous with 85 degrees and sunny!

My daughter has 2 weeks off for Spring Break so this week we are filling our week with field trips except tomorrow. Tomorrow is more Spring cleaning. On Tuesday we are heading off to an art exhibit.

Have a wonderful evening!

DS had his heart surgery on Friday and is doing well. We are hoping that it bought us 5 years before he needs another.
:yay::yay::yay:That is great news! Hopefully his recovery will move right along as well.

Happy Monday everyone.

izma,

So glad to hear that your son's surgery went well!

I don't have a wisdom teeth story but I have a splinter jaw bone story!!

Hope all goes well with the wisdom teeth. That can be nasty!

How many cruises can I book in 5 years?!?!?!?

HA HA HA!!!!!!!

Hey does anyone know where the best snorkeling is in Aruba?

I know I have even more cruise questions for you all but I can't think of them right now...
Glad your son is doing grand.

I would love to go smorkling as well, just never found the time on the 7 night cruises, wonder what disney will offer?
Well, one of my wisdom teeth did turn out to be a bit of a horror story. In fact, the first words I heard coming out of the anasthetic were from the surgeon, who had quoted a flat rate saying "boy, you got a bargain".
The specifics of the complications I prefer not to dwell on, but ever since the bone graft surgery that took place several years after the tooth was removed, everything has been fine :rolleyes1

Thankyou for NOT sharing:hug:

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for DS.

Frankly, the wisdom tooth stories sound far worse than the heart surgery!!

We are having fantastic spring weather today!

Hi! All this talk about teeth recently makes me want to share my own personal experiences---in 2 weeks I have a "date" with something called an E-Z Extractor (Doesn't it sound like something one buys on tv at 3 AM?!) Sigh. I cracked a pre-molar and I need an implant---at least it won't be like last year's experience---2 bone grafts for a molar implant---did you know that they use cadaver bone and shark cartilage?! Yuck! I have an active imagination and I could just picture a horror movie about zombie sharks taking over my body---a really bad Sci-Fi channel made-for-tv-movie just waiting to be made! That poor tooth was cracked way back in 1986 on a frozen fig-newton cookie. Anyway, that molar implant took most of a year---this pre-molar should be extracted and the implant put in at the same time---no bone grafts needed and just 3 months to heal before the crown is put on. I prefer to be awake and semi-in-control of what is happening. I did have my 4 wisdom teeth out in the hospital in the early 80s---they were so impacted and the roots went everywhere---all I remember from that operation and general anesthesia was waking up shivering and the nurse telling me that they had trouble stopping the bleeding. Oh well. I hope that everyone else has better luck with their teeth!

Izma - so glad for a non-eventful surgery for DS! Prayers sent for a speedy recovery!!

Nice day today - rain tomorrow.

Going to do some scrapbooking today. Itching to make some cruising plans.

Question - refillable beer mug - about $20 for the first (beer plus mug) yes? And then the boys can refill it as many times as they want for free??? Or do they still pay for beer each time??

Thanks. I am taking her to the oral surgeon in about an hour. :scared1:

I so glad DS is doing well!! I hope his recovery is very quick!
I don't know anything about Aruba, but I love snorkeling!

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out in 2008 and I had really psyched myself out over it. I was so nervous about the procedure that I had extensively researched it online for weeks before, and read horror stories of people waking up in the middle of it, and teeth that were difficult to get out, etc. You name it, I read it. I actually needed the doctor to give me a pill to take before I even went to the office that morning because I was so nervous. I don't know what he gave me, but I'm sure glad I took it because one minute I was freaking out, then I took the pill, went back to sleep for an hour, and then woke up to head to the office and I felt totally relaxed. The whole procedure went fine, I didnt wake up, and I'm so glad its over with! I am so glad I got all 4 done though- I can't imagine ever having to go back to get the rest out if I hadn't done them all at once!

That's exactly what DD said! She wants it all done at once. She doesn't want to go back again!

Yikes!!! That doesn't sound good!!!

Wow!!!

I'm like you. I also like to be awake and semi-in-control.
About 5 years ago, I broke my ankle really bad, and when they told me I had to have surgery, I was terrified...not because of the surgery, but because of being put under. They ended up giving me a spinal and a little something to "relax" me. It worked out perfect!!

Hello all. I am so excited. The Dodgers open their season a week form today on the road agesnt the Pirates. Hope everyone is doing well. This is a nice week for me as I have my floating holiday for the month on Wed. So that gives me three days off this week. On Fri we are going to a DVC thing at the Grand Califonian. I happen to know one of the guides coming out from FL to give the presentation. So that should be fun.

Week off work now:woohoo:
Shame about the weather, sidey way snow and hail, its disgusting out and its meant to be summer!

Hey everyone....
We're finally having summer here. Took Jack to our very awesome local aquarium that has a water play area in it, the weather couldn't have been better and we had a very tired toddler at the end of it. We're also getting ready for our brief but very anticipated Wonder cruise in 3 weeks. We haven't been on the Wonder in 10 years.
Started to just look at ports and what there is to do. While we would love the snorkel, with Jack it's not really a possibility. I found a private shore excursion in Aruba that would be a sea kayak tour to De Palm Island which allows us to kayak with Jack. That would be awesome. I have very found memories of kayaking in Cabo with TDC Nala (and the wave that fried her camera).
Glad you got your premier pass Alan, it's amazing how difficult Disney can make things!!!

Sounds like our past week at my hospital. Our NICU (where I work) has been mad busy....

Must be everywhere. DH said the last 4 calls in the pediatric CV ICU have been non-stop. The last shift he worked in the newborn nursery, he arrived to find that 17 babies were born overnight :scared1:
