From the Med to the Panama Canal

Kelly - just got your message today. We are still on the PC cruise in a cat 11. I'm glad to hear that the cat 11 aren't too bad. I have been checking to upgrade but the price is too rich for us! We have never had anything lower than a cat 9. We're going to be at WDW Dec 31 - Jan 7 if our football team cooperates with us. If not, we won't be there as long. Have not decided what we are doing before the cruise, but do know that we are staying at DL for 4 nights after the cruise. I keep checking on plane tickets. Which airport would be the best to fly out of? Anyone heard from Stephanie? She's on this cruise too.

I was on the Mex Riv cruise in 2005 and we ended up using LAX. I think LAX and Long Beach are the closest to port but for me it really depended on flight times and costs. We did DL before the cruise and right home after so LAX proved to be best. With staying at DL after be sure and check Santa Ana (John Wayne Int'l), it will be closer to DL than the other two.

HTH.

Hey Linda, is this your second time on the PC? Which ports are different this time? Is Jamie going to make this cruise?

Gydell, The port is about 10 min. from Long Beach, so check to see if Jet Blue goes to Atlanta. SNA (Orange County's John Wayne Airport) is about 6 min. from my house and about 15 min. from Disneyland. Disneyland is about 30 min. from the port. LAX always has the best deals and is about 30 min. from the port (always depending on traffic!!!!!!) and about 45min-3 hours from DL. The weather at DL will be beautiful at that time of year!

Dad And I Were On The B2b. Had A Gret Time Meeting Everyone. Linda The Scrapbook Class Was The Best. The Lunch With The Westbound Pc Was Great.

Hey guys, Anyone out there? quiet weekend here, we're still fighting colds and my left ear still hasn't fully opened up from our cruise/Paris landing. CACruisin and I have signed up for the 5K at the half marathon, so I'm heading out to walk this morning. I went to the drive in last week to see Shrek 3 and Pirates 3 again (saw it on the ship, but it was so complex I had to see it again.) What's everyone else doing for the 4th?

Actually, our third! First time with Royal Caribbean thinking Disney would never go through the canal and then 2 years later, there we were on the Magic going through the canal! Aruba is the different port this time. We have been to Aruba twice before. Wish the ship were going to Curacao. We loved Curacao last time on the Magic. Beautiful place and the people were wonderful.

Now I can't remember if we went to Puerto Vallarta or Mazatlan. I'll have to check. I know we did go to Acapulco and Cabo. Loved Cabo. We went on ATV's with Ken and Shari and about 15 others! It was a blast.

Jamie won't be going on the May crossing, she is still in school. But we are going on the 10th anniversary of the Magic on July 26 or 27, so she will be on that one. Ken and Shari are bringing Staci on that one two since she is out of school too. She is one year older than Jamie.

We are not on the cruise yet either.....and want to be so bad...I check almost daily, but............we are leaving for the MED it 3 Days.....

yes, the wait list is a really valid question:confused3

Have a great time on the Med. cruise. Don't take very much stuff and don't unpack - you will be so very busy. It got to the point at the end of the 11 night where lots of people didn't even dress for our last semi formal night because we were coming back from excursions. Watch your weight on luggage and triple ask your limits.

Gydell, we're staying at OKW and going the weekend before we leave. We bought annual passes to WDW with the intention of going a few times. Of course, since we made those plans the airline fares have really changed.

Linda, what did you do in Acapulco? I've always wanted to go there. I really wanted to go to Manzanillo.

Forgot to mention - check with Leslie everyday that you are onboard, give her your room number and she will call you with the openings for the PC. About 15 opened while we were onboard. Tell her Kelly said hi from the B2B.

Got a busy week getting last minute things done before heading to Nuevo Vallarta Sunday. I was hoping to get some sun this week but the weather is not agreeing with this plan. It seems every time I go to the store I forget something. I hope everyone has a good 4th of July!!!

Hey guys we are on the PC cruise in May 2008. We are still waiting for a handicap cabin for my parents.

Kelly we have been to Acapulco before and hired a private guide and she was wonderful. A lot less then with the ship. I am in San Diego today and will be home to Salt Lake tomorrow. I will get her email address. Maybe we can use her when we are there? Set a group thing up with her? Get a better rate? What do you think?

OK the reason alex found her was we took my parents on a cruise this past christmas from san diego. as you know dad is handicap so we had to find someone that had a van to accomodate us and would be able to find us a restroom if my father needed it. I will look up all the places we went on our private tour. From memory I believe we only paid 40 us dollars per person with eight people in the van. she picked us up directly from the ship when it docked and brought us back to the ship at night. it was all day.

I am off to have lunch with ssynder today.

Alex and Ted are off to a baseball game this afternoon.

OK not enough coffee cant make sense to myself.

Kelly - I think Acapulco is a day that we are not there all day. Be sure and plan what your most important things to see are since there is so much to do and see there. I wish we were there longer because there is a fabulous restuarant there!

Good to know guys! We hired a private car in Mazatlan too and really liked that as well.

How did the two PC cruises on the different ships compare?

Royal Caribbean was very nice. Food excellent. Great service. But it just wasn't DISNEY! However, the kids program was good, not great. But then, there were only 16 KIDS on board. The average age of the cruiser had to be about 50 years old!

The 16 kids on board though did get alot of attention.
