Hi Everyone,

There were many of us on the Transatlantic & the first 11 night cruises (May 2007) that are going on the Westbound Panama Canal cruise next year. Some of us were lucky to get to know each other at a luncheon. This thread is so that we can help each other plan and get to know each other better. New friends are welcome too and we already know many of the East bounders as well from the transatlantic! We know there are plenty of people out there, who were on the Med cruises throughout the summer, so do join us. There is currently a nice thread for this cruise, but it took off while we were still frantically planning for this year’s cruise. It has become very large, so many of us felt lost on it. This is an opportunity for continuing relationships and making new ones with people who have past special cruises in common. Again, all new friends are welcome; I don’t want this to sound like an exclusive club!!! Past PC’rs are very welcome to help us do our planning – we’d appreciate your input.

We have less than a year to go for this fun cruise, but this one seems less daunting than the Med. It seems that it will be a lot less packing (since it will be warm weather all the way), a lot less excursion planning, a lot more relaxing! I know my family is looking forward to an easier cruise (although we loved every single minute of the repo and Med.)

There are lots of us from the west coast on this next cruise, so we can plan several meets at Disneyland. I think there are several from the Orlando area as well, so they can also plan meets at WDW. Hop on and let’s start planning.

Kelly

PS: we’ll be in Castaway Cay for Mother’s Day again.

PSS: Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” - Walt Disney

That's me! Count us in. Robert and Linda.

Another cruise.............................more time on the Magic!

:hippie:

Me, too. I have a category 11 and a 9, but I keep checking and continue to downgrade! We like the "cheap seats." I started out with a 4, I think, as it was the only one available. We'll be bringing anywhere from 2 to 8, depending on hubby's employment, and we will be leaving the highschoolers at home. There never seems to be ANYTHING available on the eastbound when kids are out of school!

Hey D. I didn't know you were on this cruise! I barely got any time to visit with you on the last one... so this gives us another chance. I think everytime I passed you you had a sleeping child on you! Also, I've heard rave reviews about your knitting classes (from Emily.)

I'm not on the cruise and won't be unless there are a lot of cancellations between now and then - I'll keep my fingers crossed. I would love for us to get together here in WDW before you sail. If I'm not on the boat I will personally come take the sailaway pictures for all of you. Maybe when you are here we could do a get-together like tea, waterpark, Off-Kilter, lunch, hanging out a park or whatever. I'm sure we can come up with something. Kelly - So glad you started this thread. It gives me something to read everyday. :cool1: :cool1:

Anna, we would love to have you on this cruise. Especially since it ends where you are trying to go in May! I've been very jealous about the High Tea you and Susie went on, so you need to come on this one so we can all do it together. Also, thank you so much for the newspaper, we loved it so much. And yes, tea would be great at the GF. Zoe would love that! We will be there in December too.

We have ressies for the whole family on this cruise: cat 6 & cat 11 - but I don't think we will actually be taking the big kids out of school this time. The Med repo was incredible, but recovery for school has been hard. DD13 ended up with straight A's (no grades yet for DD11 - she still has one more week to go!), but the stress of all the make up work really took away from the excitement/ fun & games of the end of school year. I'm still holding out a slim hope that DD4 (yes, she's actually turned 4 yesterday!) and I will make the trip or something will change with school so I will continue to lurk popcorn:: . We'll see! We had such a great time with all the DIS'ers on the May Med Repo. I'd love to do it all again.

DizzneyDAnn: I didn't know you were on this cruise! I'm with you, I really liked my cat 11 - and the cost too:thumbsup2 . After having a cat 3 and cat 6, I was very leery of the cat 11, but it turned out great. For the Panama Canal, we orginally booked 6 & 11 for the 5 of us, but 2 11's would work equally well.

CA-Anna-We always had the veranda categories before, and were so worrried about not having windows. I would never go any other way now. I enjoyed getting out on deck 4 and on deck 10 and seeing people. The room on deck two was comfy and a good place to watch tv. That's all I needed!

We took Sarah out of school to go to China--big mistake. Some kids can handle it and some teachers are more accommodating. We just didn't luck out with either. She gets NO school year trips while in HS!

Nana-Anna, I just check everyday and at first booked what I could. The cheap rooms are fairly resonable, especially considering you don't have to book air to Barcelona. Orlando and LA are so much easier and cheaper! I would never have the experience of going through the canal or visiting ALL those resort areas in my lifetime if I didn['t do it this way. I sure hope you get to come, but I will love seeing you when I'm down there if that's all I get.

How do you post a picture?

Welcome Deborah and Ian, family and friends... :cheer2: Enjoy the med! My BIL just got back from a 2 week golfing vacation in Scotland and absolutely loved it. We look forward to meeting you.

We're on the ship too! :sail:

I called DVC and used all my points from this year and next year to pay for 2 adult tickets. We are paying cash for the 3rd person in the room.
It's a good way for us to use our points!

We have almost the same room as last time....7th deck, waaaay aft, only we are on the starboard side instead of the port side. We have a good sized deck, plus the "secret deck" is right next door to us! party: CAn;t wait to go through the canal.

We are going to visti family in Canyon Lake, CA after the cruise. :grouphug: WE'll probably fly home from Ontario CA.

I was on the First Med and wil be on this one too. I would love to do the Med again but am also very excite to finally do PC. It has been on my life list for years.

Hi Figment, Is it Sandy and Sharon? We'd love to see you again. I only saw you for a few minutes at the Roy Suite party. Welcome.

That would be me. We did stick out at that party didn't we didn't we:rotfl2: . My cousin Sharon is booked for this one too.

I was reading the original thread (2005) over the weekend and found the name of the PC PILOT that is also a DISer. He has started posting on the BIG WB PC Thread. His name is Alvera Luis. He is asking for the pilot assignment for our cruise as well. Last time he did his pilot stuff and in between he partied with the DISers. It should be a wealth of information at our fingertips with him on board again.

Hey everybody,
Got the cherry trees planted, cbicken coop built, and am about to make banana bread and do some laundry...tomorrow I have to sheer the sheep...just call me Deanna Ingalls.

Hey guys, are any of us doing the half marathon or 5 K this Labor day at DL?
