Wow! I am in awe of those empty park pictures!!! Where were all the crowds on that Fourth of July morning???

Love the pics of the girls with Mickey and Minnie! They are so cute!

Jill, too funny about being recognized from the DIS! That just proves you are a celebrity around these parts!

Still sleeping, I guess. But not for long. It did get more crowded, as you will see int he pictures as we are leaving the park.

I am also amazed at the empty park pictures. Wow. Guess that rope drop thing really is worthwhile!

Fantasyland looks so different with all the walls up. I know it's going to be great when it's all finished but I hope I'm not disappointed when I see it next month. I will just have to hop up on a bench and see if I can see over the walls.

How sweet that Brooklyn took Simba and Nala on the rides with her. I'm sure they were having an excellent trip!

Jill- you are a major celebrity! Congratulations. That is very cool.

Rope drop is definitely worth getting up, in my opinion.

Bench hoppers, unite! :woohoo:

She loves her stuffed friends. She added Maximus, the horse from Entangled, to the group during our Atlanta weekend.

That is a funny story, Jill. Your family is so famous. That is cool that you got recognized.

I can't believe how empty the park is!

Great family picture with Mickey and Minnie.

Did you end up going to the other Disney Store today?

OOOH opening ToonTown how fun!!!! I really love all the attention to detail Disney gives there stuff!!! I know I for one am going to miss ToonTown a bit, but I'm very excited for what is going to happen with Fantasyland!!

Awww...I always love the pictures of the girls interacting with characters...too cute!!!! Bella reaching for the ears....Brooklynn's award winning smile...awesome times!!

I wish they would add to Toontown. They could add Minnie's Bakery, a grocery store, a jail for fun 'lock-up' photo ops, expand Pete's Garage into a garage and not just restrooms...

MeMom has gone senile again and has become impatient. I have the ToonTown opening loaded but I am loading the video and pics from the Tink meeting which is the reason we opened ToonTown.

I didn't have one picture of the Tink meet, so that's why I skipped over it. From now on, when I am filming, I need to remember to take a picture, too, to remind myself.

I'm here and getting caught up again.

I love the picture of Bella trying to get Mickey's ear.

Sorry you had to leave WDW, but glad to have you back among us!

Good luck at going back to work tomorrow.

Great pictures! I can't believe how empty it is!

Jill or MeMom- What time are you arriving at ToonTown to make it for Rope Drop? My DD3 and I will be arriving at RD at Magic Kingdom on October 19 and hope to do Dumbo, Peter Pan, and Pooh before going over to meet Tink. Do you think we will have time to get that in and still make the RD? Thanks so much!

As Jill said, you should be more than fine. We'll be in Epcot on the 18th. If you're there, let's try to cross paths.

That Bella is quite the little sneaky sneakerton trying to grab Mickey's ears when he wasn't looking!
I do believe that she knows that when she tells them bye bye they will go away and that's it from them!!

Brooklynn is such a good sport about all of the attention paid to Bella! I really think she wants her little sissy to have a good time!

Brooklynn does a great job of being patient when the characters are not focused on her. I love watching her expressions on the videos. I watch them over and over and just want to give her big smooches!

I did that on the last trip. You see I was soooo smart. I have 2 cameras, I used one for the great zoom and the other is a bit more portable. I had them both out ready to go with continuous shooting. Big plans I tell you.

Well the ride starts off, and my dumbo was stuck mid way. I can still see so I start shooting while we cirlcle over that way. I finally get my Dumbo to go all the way up and continue shooting. I get off and try to look at some pictures. CLOUDS. If you shoot with both hands you cannot see what you are shooting. I have not had time to go through all the shots but the last rounds were pretty shots of the sky.

I'm planning on a Dumbo ride, for sure. I may video and let Jill take regular shots. Between us, maybe we can spy some new things going on over those walls. :thumbsup2

That is too funny about seeing someone from the Dis. North AL really represents here! I thought I saw you at Chick-Fil-A once but then "you" walked out with a boy and a little girl that looked like Bella and I realized it wasn't. I would have felt silly.

Great pictures MeMom. I still can't believe this is 4th of July!

Yep, 4th of July. Seems so very long ago!

Jill, were you at Chick-Fil-A without Wigd????

:wave:Wanted to come out of lurkdome and say that I have been enjoying your tr. I read some of the May tr as well. Memom, you take wonderful pictures- truly feel like I am there right along with you. Jill, your girls are such cuties. How lucky you both are to go to WDW so many times.

I have to say because of your trips it has put Pop Century first on my value resort list and we will be staying there for our first night in october. Can't wait, I do think my kiddos will love it there! I know you are going in October as well, what are your dates?

If you would like to meet my family, please check out the link in my signature.

We have been very fortunate to have had so many trips over the past few years. I sure loved going five time in one year, but I think three is going to be more the norm. If Trent was not down there, it might even be going back to less than that.

We'll be arriving late on the 15th and leaving in the afternoon of the 19th. Jill could only get two days away from work.

Thanks for joining us. We'll check out your report. :goodvibes

Looks like a great morning at Magic Kingdom! I love rope drop for that reason! So much is accomplished so quickly! I am impressed that you guys were able to get to the fairies and to Mickey with such a short wait!

Brooklynn is a champ of a big sister doing her thing and letting people fawn over Bella. Such a grown up girl!

I am so proud of sweet Brooklynn when we are with the characters. In real life, patience is not one of her top virtues, but when waiting for her turn in Disney World, she does a fabulous job. And when waiting for Jill to try to get Bella situated, she just stands quietly and waits. Such a good sister! :lovestruc

Hi MeMom!
I just caught up with your trip report. I haven't been on in almost a week because I just started school last week & I'm catching up on a bunch of TR's, including my own.

Fantasyland & Buzz Lightyear look empty! I love MK at rope drop.

So little time and so much to do. That's the way it seems to be for so many now that school is back in session.

We could have gone on Buzz several times for Brooklynn, but we had a particular agenda that morning before we went to Chef Mickey's.

Isn't rope drop wonderful?! And the pics of an empty park, so lovely. Love the pics with Minnie and Mickey!

Of course you were recognized as a Dis celebrity! What did John think when you told him? My dh would have just laughed and rolled his eyes.

Rope drop is great. :thumbsup2
My pictures probably would have looked very different in even another hour.

Oh yeah...I'm definitely a rope drop type of girl! :goodvibes Clay and the girls...not so much! You are so right about getting so much done in that first hour or two when doing rope drop.

When you can get four rides done in the time you might do one later, it is a good, good thing. :):)

It's unanimous then!  Good to know ya'll got my back! LOL Heck...I was planning another trip in two years anyway.   But, I was looking at it being more of a girls only trip for Hannah's 10th birthday. Since her birthday is in June and Clay has sworn he will never go back to WDW in June I figured it'd be the perfect time to do a trip with just me, Hannah, Alison, Katie and Madison. We'll see how that turns out!

Girl trips are awesome! :dance3:

Rope drop is the bestest! Empty park and the whole day in front of you.

Wonderful pictures with Mickey and Minnie!

Brooklynn really is a great big sister. I know it's hard to be that patient.

We were happy to get so much in before our brunch, because we had not planned to be back in MK that day.

The park was so empty, even for rope drop! Folks must've enjoyed the 3rd a bit too much and needed to sleep in!

The girls look adorable, as usual. That CM was one of the ones that opened ToonTown for us but I think it was April, not June.

Hope you are having a great Sunday! It's beautiful here. It's a shame that the weekends go by so quickly!

It was pretty warm again here today, but the skies were blue. I'm ready for fall weather. :thumbsup2

Wow the park was super empty for both Rope Drop and the 4th of July! Very cool!

I love the family pic with Mickey and Minnie...very cute!

Jill ~ I love your story about being recognized from the DIS!!!

We thought they might do an extra special opening show, but they didn't.

We took Caleb to our county fair last night. It was his first time ever at the fair and really his first time riding the rides anywhere since when we were in Disney he slept most of the time...so he missed out on a lot of rides.

While we were meeting up with one of my friends he got to sit on the mow-mow (a John Deere lawnmower--my nephew always called them mow-mows so thats what they are now! )

Calebs1stTriptotheFair001.jpg

We left the fair after that because it was getting so crowded and with a stroller it was not worth fighting the crowds. We all had a good time and Caleb went straight to sleep once we got home!

He's getting to be such a big boy! I know you had such a good time with him. Thank you so much for sharing. :goodvibes

Wow..you guys had a quiet MK morning! Loving the no crowds!

And you guys were at the Toontown rope drop..how awesome! Goldfish are a good, easy snack!

I loved your pics from around the big tent. That place will be just a memory before too long.

I'm kind of sorry this is not the year of a million trips for us so that we could get lots of pictures of the progress.

I feel the same way, if I get 20 mins in before bed at night, that's a lot. My computer is up and running again so I'm hoping I won't fall so behind again. I don't want everyone to think I'm abandoning their reports!

I love all the pics of Toontown, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland empty! Seeing the Buzz queue with no people in it is a rare thing!

Brooklynn is such a good girl and big sister

I hope your computer stays fixed. I know you have put a ton of money into it lately!

We know you are not abandoning anyone. With school and work, people are just very, very busy.

Awwww...how cute are the girls with the fairies!! YAY for being able to open up ToonTown!!!

OOOH pictures of the construction, looks like they are getting started! It will be interesting to see the different stages of construction!!

Between the pictures all of us take along the way, we should be able to see all the highlights. It will be exciting to see!

That was fun for Brooklynn to get to throw the pixie dust. :)

How fun! Brooklynn did an amazing job opening Toontown, so good at listening to what she needed to do and doing it just right!

I love the hair flip as she walks! She is a smart cookie -- no one should get to the fairies before she opens things up.

Looks like great interaction with the fairies! I want to go meet them but I have some boys who think otherwise. ;) In a few years... it's all over!

Aileen will get her turn for girl stuff when she's a little older. Maybe the boys will bear with her.

Awwww, Brooklynn! You should be a Junior CM! I think you could open up Toon Town all on your own!!!
The videos were so cute, I could have watched them all evening long...

I think we are lucky to live in this age of such cool technology that we can share and see these things immediately and repeatedly.

Watching the videos made me cry...how cute are the girls meeting everyone! I love Bella looking around with her nuk! So cute!
Great pics of FL expansion! Yaaa!

ETA: I forgot to mention being able to "open toontown"....what a great experience!!!

She says paci as 'Patsy'. :rotfl:

Brooklynn did a fabulous job opening Toon Town. She's a real pro.

The videos are so cute.

She surely should be. She's been doing this longer than she can even remember. ;)

Love the low crowds. The girls' fourth of July outfits are too cute.
What time did you get to TT and what time did the rope drop?

Jill can give you exact times. We got there maybe half an hour before they opened, I'm guessing.

The girls had two July 4th outfits - one for the parks and Chef Mickey's and one for the evening at BLT. Both sets were pretty cute. :cutie:

How great that she got to open Toontown.

I love how the fairies are really into the part too.

All i got in July was the tractor on the hill.
In Sept. I did spy foundation but still lots of dirt. i still have to check if iactually got any photographic evidence of that or just clouds.

Look at those big circus tents in the Fantasyland expansion!!!

Too cool that Brooklyn got to open Toon Town! What a great memory! It's too funny seeing that hair swinging around!

On mornings when they have extra magic hours you can very easily do it. On days when MK opens at 9:00 Toon Town opens at 10:00. We can do Dumbo, Peter Pan, and Pooh(or Buzz) and be over to the rope between 9:30 and 9:45. I would say get there no later than 9:45 because sometimes they drop the rope early and sometimes Goofy is there and picks a kid to ride Barnstormer with or Mickey and Minnie pick a family of the day to open that part of the park.

Thanks for the info Jill. My DD3 and I are having a special MK day together and it is a top priority of hers to see Tink!

Wow, I love seeing the construction being done from up on Dumbo! With all the different DIS friends going during all different times of the year, we'll all be able to watch the construction as is progresses :thumbsup2

Brooklynn's swinging hair is too funny! It looks like she's doing it on purpose but you can see that she's not

I have seen your empty park pictures before, but I think those may be the emptiest ones I have ever seen. It looks like you all were first for everything. Brooklynn and Bella are too cute in their matching outfits.

I love Brooklynn's hair in her "walk with purpose!!"
It reminds me of my niece when she was younger....I thought it was like Jan Brady when she would swing her hair!!

Tracy

Good morning, all! I'm back from a fun weekend. My brother, SIL and niece came into town & we had a great weekend!! Caroline is getting so big, and talking....and she loves Mickey & Minnie!! :). That's my girl!!

Great Pictures!!!

Just love the video from the girls meeting the fairies. :)I really wonder what Bella was thinking...she was looking around at everything, taking it all in.
Love how the fairies stayed in character....very cute.
Looks like you had a great morning in FL and TT.:thumbsup2 LOVE the low crowds.

Oh yeah...Congratulations on opening ToonTown Brooklynn! Very cool!
I love the shots of Brooklynn's "walk with a purpose". When my DD was much younger she had really long hair and she would do that; especially when she had a ponytail. Miss those days....

Happy Monday Everyone!

Jill, thanks for posting the videos for the opening show for MK! Nerea enjoyed watching them with me this morning - "again" and "again". We will see it live...one day. We've actually made it to the park before rope drop for CP and BBB ressies, and just after rope drop. Oh well, guess we're just going to have to keep trying. ;)

Great job with the pixie dust opening ToonTown, Brooklynn!! :thumbsup2

Our plan for the 18th is Epcot as well! That would be great if we can work something out!

Maybe we could hook up at Nemo, ride that, and let the kids see the marine animals.

How great that she got to open Toontown.

I love how the fairies are really into the part too.

All i got in July was the tractor on the hill.
In Sept. I did spy foundation but still lots of dirt. i still have to check if iactually got any photographic evidence of that or just clouds.

I'll be anxious to see what your pictures reveal. :)

She did enjoy being the special guest to do that that morning. We have been the first before and were walked in by Pluto. It was cool that she got to throw the pixie dust on the 4th, though.

Look at those big circus tents in the Fantasyland expansion!!!

Too cool that Brooklyn got to open Toon Town! What a great memory! It's too funny seeing that hair swinging around!

It's going to be much fun!

Thanks for the info Jill. My DD3 and I are having a special MK day together and it is a top priority of hers to see Tink!

That will be a special time. One-on-one time is so important.

I think between us all we can pretty much cover the entire process of the changes. :thumbsup2 I suppose it makes us real Disney dorks to think about getting excited about seeing a new wall or something. ;)

I have seen your empty park pictures before, but I think those may be the emptiest ones I have ever seen. It looks like you all were first for everything. Brooklynn and Bella are too cute in their matching outfits.

We did pretty well for ourselves. I bet the 5th was probably even less crowded early in the morning! :goodvibes

I love Brooklynn's hair in her "walk with purpose!!"
It reminds me of my niece when she was younger....I thought it was like Jan Brady when she would swing her hair!!

Tracy

I have some students who shake the head going down the hallway. The boys don't much enjoy the hair in the face.

Good morning, all! I'm back from a fun weekend. My brother, SIL and niece came into town & we had a great weekend!! Caroline is getting so big, and talking....and she loves Mickey & Minnie!! . That's my girl!!

I saw the FB pictures of your little cutie. :cutie:
I know you had a great time with her.

Great Pictures!!!

Just love the video from the girls meeting the fairies. I really wonder what Bella was thinking...she was looking around at everything, taking it all in.

Bella was probably wondering where they kept the Pixie Hollow food! :)

Jill, thanks for posting the videos for the opening show for MK! Nerea enjoyed watching them with me this morning - "again" and "again". We will see it live...one day. Great job with the pixie dust opening ToonTown, Brooklynn!!

It's hard to realize that there are people that haven't seen that show. Maybe on a nice long trip you can have the time to stand outside and watch the whole thing. If you go over to the left side, you can see the characters come down the steps, too.

Gotta love a pratically empty park!!!

Aww, the video of Brooklyn opening Toontown was so cute!!!! Tell her she did an awesome job!!:goodvibes

Congrats on opening ToonTown Brooklynn! Very Cool!

It was quick and simple, but something different and fun. :)

The girls would love that (and so would I).

We'll try for that, then. Will you be there in the morning? We'll probably open the park, or be very close to opening, stay until lunch, go back to Saratoga or meet Trent somewhere for lunch, and then go back to Epcot in th evening.

Gotta love a pratically empty park!!!

Aww, the video of Brooklyn opening Toontown was so cute!!!! Tell her she did an awesome job!!

I talked to her for a minute earlier this evening. She was very busy eating chips.

I saw a small pair of these in Walmart tonight. I had to go in for lawnmower oil, an AC filter, and a baby gift for school, so I went through the toy department pretty quickly. I was looking for a Spill and Spell game, but they didn't have any.

IMG_6539.jpg

Nothing else for tonight. Early bedtime for me after I go through this one set of Science papers on Space Probes. :)

I didn't realize they had stormtrooper parts for the potatoes! I am thinking we might need to fill a new box this year. Now how to convince my hubby that we do not in fact have too many pieces already.

Love the Disney babies in the blankets too!

That's so awesome Brooklynn got to open ToonTown! I love the pics of her hair flying back and forth

aww cute videos of the girls with the fairies. Bella was so adorable standing there looking at the fairies, taking it all in.
