I love the Poly pins! I know we are getting at least one to mark our stay there, but now I have to decide?? Why do they do this to me!?

We had such a bad transportation experience at OKW! We were trying to get to DD the day we left after Epcot so we took the bus there and got off to try and get the boat. Well about 20 feet away from the bus stop, and the DD bus pulls up! We wave and wave as we run back to the bus, and the driver looks in the rear view mirror at us and speeds away! Hmph :( David has put OKW on the list of places he never wants to stay at because of that experience. I don't know though, I heard they were getting a refurb!

Oh my gosh...the top of the pizza box is adorable! And...I love the daily notes that Mickey holds up! What a cute idea! You are really getting me excited for my trip......this is kind of "tiding me over!"

Would I be a Disney geek if I kept the box for a couple of days?
Cuz I did.

We are glad to help your excitement, of course.

Yummm pizza! It's lunchtime here and I'm starving. That box is cute. We've never gotten a whole pizza. Love DTD and shopping. Sorry the wait for the bus was so long in the heat. Did the rain cool you off?

Yes, the rain did cool things off.

I think Jill decided that getting the whole pizza was a pretty good deal, so they did it several times.

The Pizza looks so yummy! Love the top of the box too!

I think the cloud looks just like a dog too

I love all the close up pictures of the pins.

Can't wait to read about the DIS meet.

The DIS meet will be in the next post.

If we ever get a boat.

I'm going to second this! I waited about 18 months before I spoke up about it, but it got to the point I had to have shoes on and my feet were killing me after a normal day. I'm currently in PT for this condition which is helping greatly (just ignore today's fb post! But I have noticed the difference when I don't ice my feet. I went to Walmart and did the Dr. Scholls foot test thing and it told me which inserts are best for my feet so you might try that too. Hope you feel better soon!

Those Dr. Scholl's things are expensive, aren't they? The good ones, I mean.

Ahhh, I am imaging myself at that boat dock right now.....

Imagine yourself very, very hot. ;)

yum, Pop's pizza is perfect for a quick meal.

What a cute pin of Mickey & Minnie eating the kitchen sink! Beaches & Cream was too crowded last time we checked it out...oh well, next trip!!

If Wigd and the girls let me have ice cream next time, maybe I, too, can have that cool pin.

Ok, This is going to sound like a dumb question but remember I have never been there. Our first trip is in Nov/ Dec. Do they have pins for all the resorts? We are staying at Pop on our trip and I was just wondering if they had a pin for there or if they skipped it since it is a value resort???? TIA

Next week will be rough, so the next week I will try to be faithful with the exercises.

I have tried stretching them in the morning while I am in the shower. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone. I also try to flex them at night right before I go to sleep and in the morning before I get up. That makes those first few steps less painful.

Remember my text about the tumble monkey? Here he is.

IMG_6999.jpg

I must have 15 shots and about 10 came out so you can actually see him.

Judging by my pictures you would have though the show was the Tumble Monkey Show.

These young men just don't know how they brighten our days, do they?

how long am I going to be stuck at the dock? We need to leave for Canada tonight! LOL! Seriously we will be gone this week...so hope you all have a great week!

I guess you have already gone. We'll have another boat come for you later. :thumbsup2

Have a good trip!

We've never ordered Disney pizza before. Is it pretty good? It looks like it is! Those pins are sure cute. I don't think I could ever decide so it's probably a good idea I don't collect them. LOL!

It's pretty fun to look at all the different ones. I enjoy seeing mine every day at school. I have a little reminder of some magical times right there in the midst of the not so magical part of my life.

Exactly my concern as well!

Your morning looked very nice and relaxed. Gotta love pool time and just taking it slow and easy.

I hope we get the nice boat driver with the handlebar mustache.

I don't think we had a driver with a handlebar moustache.
We were just glad to have a driver.

And you guys walked right by our room!

I am so glad you have been taking pics of all these different pins. I have never really taken the time to look at them, so it's great to see all the ones that there are. There are some really cute ones!

Yes, we did. Many times. :)

Yoou would enjoy the pins. Spend some time at Pin Traders this time. I bet you'll enjoy it.

I have bad luck waiting for Disney boats. We had to wait a long time for a boat when we were going from Epcot to the Beach Club. Of course, one had JUST left when we got there And then one night going from MK back to the Wilderness Lodge we waited for about a half hour for a boat. I was so tired I was almost falling alseep sitting on the ground

Right now, Jeremy, Leslie, and Caleb are on the way down from Maine We'll see them tomorrow. I'm so excited! I haven't seen them in 3 months! I can't wait to see how big Caleb is now. He'll probably being towering over Kazin  Kazin's tiny. He gets it from Josh. He's about the same height as me, maybe a little taller, and I'm only 5'4". Tomorrow we're having our annual pool party with the extended family. I thought they were only staying for a few days, but they'll be here for a week :goodvibes I think we'll probably have a cookout at some point for just our branch of the family

I know you have been looking so forward to this family time. ENjoy every second of it!

This came home with us... but from Vero!

That picture was just for you, of course! :thumbsup2

Hope you get to try out that kitchen sink in the future
We're hoping to take my parents with us in the future so I'm hoping 4 adults and 2 little girls could make a dent in it!

I bet you could. There is a lot of ice cream there. I'd have to fish the ice cream and nuts out from under all the whip cream. I'm not big on frosting or whip cream either one.

I love that Kitchen Sink pin.....I am more apt to buy the pin than the actual Kitchen Sink!! After all of my crowns and caps ice cream is no longer my friend (well in very small amounts....)
Your Mickey with the days activities is such a great idea!! I love that!

Tracy

I love ice cream! Sometimes, a bowl of ice cream is my supper. :upsidedow

did you see on Happy Dog's thread the comment Hannah made this week...
She asked if we were going to Vero next summer. I said probably not (my nice no) and she was disheartened. She then proceeded to say she liked it better than Disney... yikes! We did love our Vero stay, but better than the world.... I doubt!

Hollie has a special message for Brooklyn! We received a sweet package in the mail today!! Jill you are too, too sweet!! Thank you so much!!!

Oh, and please disregard Hollie's little neck injury. She got in a fight with her bunk bed the other night. She would climb over the side and just drop down to the bottom bed. But, she has learned her lesson now!

So sorry you got hurt, Hollie.
Your message was so sweet! :lovestruc

It sure was!! That was the best wrapping I have ever seen in bubble wrap!! When I saw the disney bag, I handed it to Hollie and read what was on the box. I wish I had taken a picture of her face!! She said, "Brooklyn sent me a present!! Oh my gosh!!!! She is so sweet and I love her!!" lol!

She looks lovely in it, too.

I'm loving all the pics. You guys are so nice, you thing about everyone I'm so glad I found your trip report !!

There are a lot of good people around here who deserve to have their Disney wishes granted, so that's the least we can do when we go. :):)

I hope you will make yourself at home and join in whenever. :thumbsup2

That looks like JUST how I want to spend my morning at Pop. A little pool time, a little shopping and a large pizza for our family to share! Then maybe a trip to DTD.

It was a good slow way to start the trip.

I am a little late to the party but am all got up now, Thanks for sharing! The POP Century looks like a fun resort :goodvibes

The party is just beginning. We haven't even gotten to our first park. You'll figure out that we go pretty slow around here. You might be seeing summer pictures while you are eating your Thanksgiving turkey.

I love the Poly pins! I know we are getting at least one to mark our stay there, but now I have to decide?? Why do they do this to me!?

Hmph :( David has put OKW on the list of places he never wants to stay at because of that experience. I don't know though, I heard they were getting a refurb!

I'd like more than one Poly one, too.

I heard about the OKW refurb. I saw some of the new pictures on allears.

Ok, This is going to sound like a dumb question but remember I have never been there. Our first trip is in Nov/ Dec. Do they have pins for all the resorts? We are staying at Pop on our trip and I was just wondering if they had a pin for there or if they skipped it since it is a value resort???? TIA

Yes, I saw two Pop pins on this trip and one All-Stars.

I have tried stretching them in the morning while I am in the shower. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone. I also try to flex them at night right before I go to sleep and in the morning before I get up. That makes those first few steps less painful.

I'll do that tonight. I'm quite a spectacle when I am taking my first few steps. Jill can testify to that.

Hannah! :scared1:

I am so glad she had a good time, though. I love to catch her smiling a genuine smile in pictures, so if she was enjoying Vero, I know you got some great pictures. We'll have to find out what really makes her happiest in Disney World and promote that. :goodvibes

nope...i'm still here for another half hour or so! waiting on DH to get home so we can leave...course gotta wake Caleb back up and hopefully he goes right to sleep in the van until we stop for the night. We are driving 3 hrs tonight and staying the night in MI and then going the rest of the 11 hours or so in the morning. I just hope caleb does well in the car seat that long...he normally is good but this is going to be really hard on him!

how sweet of you to get a sister necklace for hollie! she looks very pretty in it. :goodvibes

You can add me to the bad feet support group. :lmao:

I have wide, flat, fat feet-I am currently in the process of trying to find good shoes to wear on my trip next month. I usually wear sneakers to the parks everyday, but I'd like to try to find something else since it will be so hot.

I used to have a lot of pain in my heel, and my doctor said it was plantar fasciitis. One of the things that made a big difference for me on my last couple of trips to WDW is a tennis ball. I take a new tennis ball (it's small and doesn't have to be frozen), and roll my feet around on the ball whenever we go back to the room. I only do it for a few minutes on each foot at a time, but it really helped me. I have found that the brand name tennis balls (like Penn) work better than the store brand or cheaper ones. The cheaper ones are not firm enough for me.

I just thought I'd share that tip.

I wanted to add that I wanted to try the Teva Mush flip flops that everyone raves about, but when I tried them on in the store my feet were too wide. I didn't like the way they looked because my feet seemed to be hanging off the sides.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone here wears Merrills? I tried a pair on at Dillard's today. They were just a little too small for me, and they didn't have the next size up. However, they seemed very comfortable, and they had a lot of arch support which is wonderful in a sandal. I am thinking about ordering the bigger size online, but I am hesitant because they are so darn expensive. ($75!!)

Oh, this time around, I plan to take pictures anytime I'm at Disney. :thumbsup2(As long as I'm not working "behind the scenes") Well, still no call or email yet :confused3and still waiting, wishing and praying. Hmm, maybe Mickey knows I don't want to work on my birthday.

The cloud does look like a dog.

While you were waiting on the dock, we were waiting out the rain in our car.

Poolrat, I wouldn't mind a Tumble Monkey Show...lol :rolleyes1:lmao:

Hollie's necklace is so pretty!

If Wigd and the girls let me have ice cream next time, maybe I, too, can have that cool pin.

I'm not going to be the one to tell those sweet girls they have to get out of the pool....
No Way!

Confession time...I just talked DH into us all sharing a kitchen sink for lunch one day!! I am a scrapbooker so it will make an awesome page AND there are pins to be bought!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I do not envy you with all that driving. Driving does me in these days. I'm all about flying now. So much easier on my legs. Caleb will be a saint if he makes it through that many hours without a meltdown or two. I hope you guys have a grand time, though, when you get there!

how sweet of you to get a sister necklace for hollie! she looks very pretty in it.

That was all Jill. She's a thoughtful girl.

I am going to try all of the tips. I need some relief. It's ridiculous to so much want to go, go, go and not be able to.

I wanted to add that I wanted to try the Teva Mush flip flops that everyone raves about, but when I tried them on in the store my feet were too wide. I didn't like the way they looked because my feet seemed to be hanging off the sides.

I have read so many good things about Tevas. I will have to check if they have sliders, because I don't like anything between the toes. I wear some very comfortable Adidas slide-ins a lot. They are very comfortable. Jill borrowed mine to walk to the food court once and decided she needed to have some.

Oh, this time around, I plan to take pictures anytime I'm at Disney. (As long as I'm not working "behind the scenes") Well, still no call or email yet :confused3and still waiting, wishing and praying. Hmm, maybe Mickey knows I don't want to work on my birthday.

Hollie's necklace is so pretty!

I hope you get a call soon.

Those were some huge raindrops, weren't they???

Why do I get the feeling that the audience numbers for Festival of the Lion King are about to go up?

I'm not going to be the one to tell those sweet girls they have to get out of the pool....
No Way!

You would have those two spoiled rotten if we saw you any more than just short spurts! Miss Anita Wigd and her magic suitcase of fun were a big hit with Brooklynn!

Confession time...I just talked DH into us all sharing a kitchen sink for lunch one day!! I am a scrapbooker so it will make an awesome page AND there are pins to be bought!!!!

Lucky you! We will look forward to seeing the pictures.

I coulda had a Kitchen Sink, too, but.... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

************************************

Back at the boat dock, we waited,

Summer2010PoptotheTop101.jpg

and waited,

Summer2010PoptotheTop102.jpg

and waited

Summer2010PoptotheTop103.jpg

for a boat.

Finally a boat came in, and we all boarded.

That was a futile effort, because the boat had no captain.

No captain, no moving boat.

After several apologies from a very nice captain of another boat who was running another route, another green flag boat came up. Everyone piled off of the non-moving boat and got onto one that was going to go somewhere.

Preferably Old Key West. ;)

But wait...

we first have to stop
at Saratoga Springs
to change captains.

And drop off a family who had gotten on the wrong boat. :upsidedow

We knew Stacey and family were waiting for us, and we knew that they had an Olivia's ADR soon. We were hoping this was not going to inconvenience them. We also knew that there was no chance now of getting to see the inside of an Old Key West room.

Hot baby on a boat.

You can see the sky starting to get dark.

Isn't this a pretty place?

Stacey met us outside and we all went into the lobby, where Brooklynn found cartoons.

Summer2010PoptotheTop109.jpg

She gets totally absorbed in her TV watching.

Summer2010PoptotheTop110.jpg

I think Stacey was calling her family and telling them to come on to the lobby.

Summer2010PoptotheTop111.jpg

Welcome Home had been formed with balloons at the check-in desk.

Summer2010PoptotheTop113.jpg

Time check.

Summer2010PoptotheTop114.jpg

Stacey's wet family. Great bunch!
I know why she keeps them around. :)

Summer2010PoptotheTop117.jpg

Brooklynn got to do a craft with a nice CM.

Bella played on of her favorite games. It's called Get in the Smallest Space You Can Find and Watch the Grown-ups Try to Come and Get You.

Summer2010PoptotheTop119.jpg

Bella cracked me up! I remember those days. I am interested in seeing the OKW refurb also. I have been swamped since yesterday. My mother-in-law and I canned tomatoes, broke beans and cut corn before freezing them, all yesterday. If you have ever done that before, you know how exhausting. I have new appreciation for my grandmother now.:lmao:

The postcards arrived guys; they are great and will be perfect for the surprise announcement. Hopefully we will make it to JFK before we let him in on our little secret.

Glad your boat finally arrived. That sounded like a long wait.

Pooksma and I both thought the "Welcome Home" balloons were pretty cool.
