Thanks.:goodvibes I do know it was a compliment that he put her in my class. I hope I can live up to his expectations. I just fear that he will nitpick everything I do. He's very controlling as a boss. So, I'm very cautious and nervous.

That's crazy that you start testing so soon MeMom. We give our kids a solid 9 days before we start.:sad2:

Last year I had my principal's daughter from the school that I had just left. It was one of those agreed upon deals. I knew that I would be getting her when I transferred to my new school.
My one worry was conferences. Just sitting across the table from my previous boss and his wife who is a teacher made me nervous.
It turned out great but going into the fall conference I was a ball of nerves!
Stacy, you will do great! He must think you are the right fit for his child and a great teacher!
Just curious, is he a helicopter dad?

***************

We've been with kids for 7 days and we are testing for fluency using DIBELS and just did SRI today in the computer lab.
Do you all do the NWEA reading and math? We have that coming up in a couple of weeks....

Hannah's first 2 days were wonderful! Her teacher gave each kiddo a goodie bag on the first day and a little teddy bear. So Hannah thinks she is wonderful! I agree, I really liked her which is why she is going to school where she is!

I saw the pictures on Facebook. She looked like a very happy and eager student. :thumbsup2

Hey, I love the food court food!! lol!! Oh, and Hollie does too!

You know I will have Hollie and Hannah both with me, and possibly Chad. I told him if Trent was there, he needed to be there too! lol!

Hollie is already excited about meeting Miss Brooklyn!

Trent plans to be there, and there are a few DIS husbands coming, I think.

Brooklynn told me on the phone that she was going to Atlanta to see Hollie. I think when we let them loose in the play area, they will have a blast together. And Bella will be doing her best to keep up with them both, I'm sure!

Somebody please eat of Chic Fil A for me!!!

I'll be going for pineapple chicken or orange chicken with noodles, if either of those are an option.

LOL!!! I will, I will!!! I love some Chic Fil A!!

Glad you've got her covered. I'll be doing a foreign version of chicken. :goodvibes

Wigd, you could catch a DING flight to Atlanta and eat that chicken yourself! ;)

We're doing Running Records and DIBELS right now. We do ThinkLink testing, too.

My reply to you 'jiggled' in cyberspace and got cut off, including some your post, so I'll try again.

Yes, three days into school and already testing. At Open House, parents aren't thrilled to hear that their kids are sitting at their desks with huge work packets to do while teachers are pulling kids individually to the back to test. Our system just adores testing and putting numbers in boxes on grids. They thrive on it. Trouble is, it takes a significant time away from the actual teaching of the material!

Brooklynn is beyond excited to finally meet Hollie. Maybe we need to make sure we hit up a mall that does ear piercing just in case Brooklynn convinces Hollie to get hers done.

Just caught up with your recent update.
I'm glad to hear that Brooklynn enjoyed BTMRR, it's one of my favorites! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, that is too funny you say that! Because in my mind I have been thinking, "Oh please let Hollie decide she wants to get her ears pierced and Brooklyn can stand there beside her and tell her its okay!" lol!!!

Just got caught up again (at work) sshh!!

I knew some of the letters from the alphabet game but a lot I did not know.

That Dis meet sounds great. Wish I lived closer. Sounds like you all will have a great time.

Thanks Anita! I do hope it will all be fine-it's the unknown right now that I think is the worst.
He claims that he is not a helicopter dad. Made a point to let me know that he would not be coming in my classroom to see her. Yet again, something that remains to be seen.

No, we don't have NWEA. We do STAR Reading and Math which are done on the computer thankfully. But, we do PALS (phonological awareness literacy screening) which is done individually. The kids have to spell 20 words, read sight word lists, and we do a running record on a reading passage.

MeMom-my district too loves tests. And spreadsheets full of numbers. And analyzing data to drive instruction. Crazy mess!:headache:

I'll have to talk to Clay and see if he wants to go. I don't know how he'd feel about me and Hannah driving down there.

 Hi friends! We are safely back home from a wonderful trip!

Can't wait to catch up with everyone.... I missed a birthday party. :thumbsup2

I have so much to do .... usual groceries...laundry...clean up after my son who did the best he could...

I'll be back on tonight. Have a great day! :grouphug:

Mine, too. :thumbsup2

Let's at least start the pierced ears conversation and then listen to the girls dicuss it. Should be interesting. :goodvibes

We are looking forward to a great day in Atlanta. :woohoo:

Dising at work?
I may have done that a few thousand times. :rolleyes1

I despise all the testing. That is the one thing that will drive me to early retirement, if I live that long!

Are you talking about Atlanta or Nashville?

No, you can't be back! I willed time to stand still for your trip. I promise!
I am glad you are saying it was wonderful, and I look forward to seeing and hearing all about it.

I will, plus the Chic Fil A calender coupon for Sept. is a free sandwich, so I will eat a free one for you.

Excellent. :thumbsup2

Yep! :dance3:

OK this is going to sound like a strange association but I just KNEW you would love this! My brother and his family just returned from the world and when talking about things from their trip, my niece made the following comment...

"It's weird, and it's sweet, and it turns my poo blue."

Care to venture a guess?

As much as I would love to catch a cheap flight to Atlanta to meet up with you all, those flights just don't exist out of Wichita, Kansas.:headache:
I'll just have to rely on the stories and pictures!

I have a question for Jill or MeMom, or anyone with a small child actually. Carter is 3 and has been potty trained for several months now, but I'm worried all the stimulation of Disney World might cause accidents so I told my daughter she might want to bring some pull ups along. She totally shot down the idea and thinks it won't be a problem, but I would hate to leave the parks to go back to the resort to clean up if it should happen. I just wondered what your experience was when Brooklyn was younger.

We didn't have any problems with Brooklynn. She was actually potty training when we went for Thanksgiving in 2008. She was in a diaper and we just made regular bathroom stops and she did awesome. By our trip in summer of 2009 she was fully potty trained and had absolutely no issues. I would say through an extra pair of underwear and shorts in the park bag just in case, but as long as you make it a point to take a bathroom break every few hours he should be fine.

I think many of us know exactly what you are talking about, and I think we all probably grinned when we read that. :)

Did your brother torment you too much with trip pictures? Did they have a good time/great time/so-so time? Just curious what others say about Disney trips.

Shucks! :sad1:

Between the whole group, I am guessing there will be more than enough pictures from several different angles of the event.

Atlanta...Nashville is about an 8 hour drive!

Oh. We would love to have you in Atlanta, but you and your aquatic buddy could always plan a girls' Nashville trip, too, in the future. :rolleyes1 Once Opry Mills opens back up, we'll have a place to 'host' a meet. :thumbsup2

Jill and I share some kind of super telepathic brain waves. We call each other all the time and start talking about something the other was just thinking. I read your post, texted her to say I didn't remember Brooklynn ever having accidents, but she might want to field your question, came back to continue reading, and she had answered your question right at that minute.

Ooooooh weeeeeee ooooooooh!

I hope he does fine and has no problems. I'm with Jill - it's just a matter of being concious of stopping for bathroom breaks often and having a change of clothes just in case.

The wonderful Pop century tye dye cheesecake!!!!

I don't think I even had a piece of that this summer. I was in an ice cream mood all summer.
Of course, I am always in an ice cream mood.

Confession of a grown-up tie-dyed cheesecake eater: I look over them for the prettier ones for photographic purposes. :upsidedow Does anyone else do the same?
