From MCO to Cocoa Beach?

When we arrive at MCO, we are going to rent a car and drive to Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space Center. We think we are going to arrive at night, stay the night at the airport, and then get up early and drive to Cocoa Beach, then go to Kennedy Space Center. Does anyone know how long it will take to get there from MCO? Also, does anyone know the name of the hotel that is inside MCO-the one whose lobby overlooks the inside of the airport when you are first arriving?

Sorry can't help you with the hotel name but Cocoa Beach is about 45 minutes to an hour away from MCO. We have friends that live on Merritt Island (where KSC is located--they live about 10 minutes from KSC! Cool!) & last time we visited we stayed in Cocoa. Its an easy drive! Have you thought about just staying in Cocoa Beach? Depends on what time you land I guess?
