Awesome news on the win Mary Ellen! :yay:
I think you are quite an artist! Not only once but twice!!
RNR hurts my neck.... Did it bother you?

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Glad you like my pluto! I still haven't shaded him in with color pencils, and I promised myself I would.

I get neck stiffness really easily, so "YES" if I already have a stiff neck RnR will really aggravate it. And "YES" I can be fine going on and walk off with a neck ache or headache. Getting old s___ks!

When I left off last Denny and I had just finished riding TSM. We had a pretty productive day so far.....RnR, ToT, TSM, Animation Studio, The Little Mermaid, and a spectacular lunch at HBD. It was about 2pm and we weren't done yet. I wanted to ride the GMR. We could not ride it in June because the lines were ridiculous. I'm sure it was a walk-on, altough I can't confirm because Denny promptly said he didn't want to ride it. He said something about it be boring and having ridden it a gazillion times. Whatever, I said. So we headed over to ride Star Wars. I'm surprised Denny didn't make the same comment, but he knows I love this ride. Its such a classic.

Star Wars was a total walk-on. We waited for about 2 minutes to watch the pre ride film, then we buckled up and heading to Endor! It was a smooth trip and over before we knew it. We broused a bit in the gift shop, but didn't mingle too long.

After we left Star Tours, I reminded DH that we still had RnR FP's burning a hole in my pocket. We looked at each other and said, "why the heck not". Honestly, I thought about giving the FP's away but I have bad luck in picking FP's recipients. I usually pick someone who doesn't speak a lick of English or has no idea what the ride is. So, we used them for ourselves. Our FP wait was actually a tad longer than our morning walk-on.

I took a few more pictures before we walked over to RnR.....

I don't remember much about our second ride on RnR. It was fun! It was fast! Nuff said!

As we were leaving we leaving we ran into another PP photographer. This time we got our picture taken in front of the hat.....

I actually think we had started to walk towards the front of the park to leave AND then decided to go back and ride RnR. When we finally did leave the park, this was going on.........

This was a cute parade. Can't remember the name of it, but it was fun. And those performers really worked, especially in the hot sun. I can't imagine how thirsty they must be by the time the finish all the jumping around.

So we scooted out at the end of the parade and headed back for a POP break. We stop and refilled our mugs and headed back to the room. And now I will make a comment about the refillable mugs. I saw sooooooo many people using old refillable mugs. Seriously, every time I went to the fill station I saw old mugs. I saw the old blue and white ones and even saw some of the old POP mugs. Seems to me that people have no trouble refilling those old mugs over and over. :confused3

So up next.....a power nap, a pool break, and our final dinner at Artist Point!

Excellent update as always, Mary Ellen! SUPER photo of you and Denny in front of the hat! Beautiful smile :goodvibes

Is it just me, or is no-neck Woody kinda creepy?

You really got quite a bit done in that DHS day!!! Good job!

Hmmmm....cheaters with the mugs, huh?! I am thinking I would be too scared of getting caught to even try getting away with it!! LOL

Love love love the pic of you and Denny in front of the hat!!

I am not a big fan of the DHS 'street party' thing...it's cuteand the kids like it, but it's not for me. I agree though... they MUST be very parched by the time they are done!

I bought a new refillable mug this time for me.... I felt too guilty to take the one I had gotten 6 weeks prior!! I could see maybe using it if it was the SAME one (like a split stay...or a couple days pre and post cruise... or a split trip with a few days at the beach in the middle), but c'mon.... using an ancient mug!! how cheap is that!:sad2:

Mary Ellen, I'm holding a spot and will catch up completely tomorrow.
Its so late and I have an early dentist appt. in the morning before work. (Yuck!) I've got to get to bed....

Can't wait to read more!

Awww, too bad about GMR! I love the parade pictures, we didn't see that one when we were there, it looks cute :)

I'd probably still be annoyed with being stuck by it but love the army men especially!

great day at DHS!!! Sounds like a lot of fun!!!

Doesn't Denny know that when your there alone he's supposed to go one everything you want to go one?!

I love the photopass picture!! Very cute!

I see A LOT of people using old mugs! What's the deal with that?! That's just wrong!

I saw some people using the old blue and white mugs in October too. :confused3 I just looked at her and then looked at the mug. :rolleyes1
You would think that CM's would say something, especially of the older ones...I suppose with the current year it would be hard to tell? I just couldn't do it though
Great picture in front of the hat! :thumbsup2

Great update! DH is looking forward to riding Star Tours one more time before the update; hopefully it's still running in 3 weeks...

I was so so so so behind!

I can't believe I missed the update about your Brown Derby lunch. :scared1:

Jen & I really enjoyed our lunch at Brown Derby when it was empty.

You are right...40 minutes is practically a walk on for Toy Story Mania! :3dglasses

Excellent update as always, Mary Ellen! SUPER photo of you and Denny in front of the hat! Beautiful smile :goodvibes

Thanks.....and Thanks! I think that picture wins the "best smile of the trip" award!

Is it just me, or is no-neck Woody kinda creepy?

Now that you mention it....yup, he is a tad creepy!

You really got quite a bit done in that DHS day!!! Good job!

That was probably our most productive so fat, especially considering that it usually takes so dang long to accomplish anything at DHS.

Hmmmm....cheaters with the mugs, huh?! I am thinking I would be too scared of getting caught to even try getting away with it!! LOL

Well, everytime I was at the fill station there were old mugs, so apparently none of those people were afraid of getting caught. They usually had one or two new ones and then an older model. I wouldn't do it either, although I did have a CM tell me once that the mugs were good "forever".

Love love love the pic of you and Denny in front of the hat!!
Yo....I'm so psyched you stopped by! Thanks for the compliment on the pic. It's probably my fav for the trip!

I am not a big fan of the DHS 'street party' thing...it's cuteand the kids like it, but it's not for me. I agree though... they MUST be very parched by the time they are done!

Once I watched about 10 mins of it I was like, OK.... That's enough - I'm getting hot just watching you in that green paint.

Here's my thought on the mugs - I think they should be Annual Mugs, just like an Annual Pass. I think they should change the design every year and when the design changes its time to get a new mug. I honestly bought my June mug thinking I would use it in September. I only used it a handful of times in June. I really got it to take beverages to the pool and I couldn't stand the tiny coffee mugs in the Kidani villas. As it turns out, I didn't need it afterall. I have an old mug that I usually take just for pool beverages, but I would never fill it!

Mary Ellen, I'm holding a spot and will catch up completely tomorrow.

Welcome Back.....I love your TR so far. Great, detailed descriptions of everything!!!!!

Awww, too bad about GMR!

I have been on it a million times, so I wasn't too upset about missing. We'll ride it is May with our friends, so its cool. But Denny - so bossy!

I love the parade pictures, we didn't see that one when we were there, it looks cute :)

I'd probably still be annoyed with being stuck by it but love the army men especially!

It was very colorful and energetic. I'm sure, like Paula said, its great for the kids. Plus the CM's are so athletic and in such great shape. Ahhhhhh to be young! But how do those green men stay cool in all that paint. I'm sure its breathable, but still. :confused3

H
ey,
Just got to the part where you posted your May ADRs... Love 'em! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Thanks! I feel like I made those ADR's eons ago. I need to check my confirmations just for dates and times. Psych ......I still have them all memorized down to the minute! :rotfl:

great day at DHS!!! Sounds like a lot of fun!!!

Doesn't Denny know that when your there alone he's supposed to go one everything you want to go one?!

It was so fun.:thumbsup2 But that Denny....Pffffft.......when will he ever learn? :lmao:

I love the photopass picture!! Very cute!

Thanks! That picture really expresses how I fell on the inside 90% of the time when I'm at Disney!!!!!

I see A LOT of people using old mugs! What's the deal with that?! That's just wrong!

Honestly, I have to wonder how many people where told, like I was, that they are good for ever. I swear, if I wasn't a Dis'er, I would have thought it was legit!

Plus, I don't think Disney really cares that much because fountain soda is so darn cheap. They probably figure everytime they get someone in the resort CS restaurant to fill a mug, its a chance to make more mula on food! Free soda is pennies compared to making extra sales. That's why I don't think the CM's say anything. I think they are told not to.

I saw some people using the old blue and white mugs in October too. :confused3 I just looked at her and then looked at the mug. :rolleyes1
You would think that CM's would say something, especially of the older ones...I suppose with the current year it would be hard to tell? I just couldn't do it though

I don't even feel right bringing my white and blue mug to the pool because I'm afraid someone will think I AM using it for refills. I use it for the hard stuff!

See - above - I think the CM's are really coached not to say anything. They just ignore it. I do agree it is wrong, but I understand how people start doing. Especially when they see other people with old mugs, they probably think its legit!

IGreat picture in front of the hat! :thumbsup2

Thanks - its my personal fav!

Great update! ...

Thanks!

DH is looking forward to riding Star Tours one more time before the update; hopefully it's still running in 3 weeks...

gosh - I hope its still running through Christmas. Seems like a bad time to take it out of commission for an update. I'm not sure how much of a major update it will be. I'm a bit out of touch right now regarding closed attractions. I don't even know if Space Mtn is open yet. Given a choice between Space and Star tours, I would certainly pick the former. So I hope that's up and running.

Well folks, I won't get a chance to update tonight because its the BIG GAME! We play at 8pm and the weather is pretty crappy. I almost hate to remind you about the semi finals, because I am so nervous. I just don't feel very positive about it. So channel all you good thoughts between 8 and 10 pm (allowing for OT).

Be back soon!

I hope the game goes well...:cheer2:

I love that you wonder about the people coming back from trips when you see the airport lights...I do that too...:goodvibes when I drive down 95 past the airport or when I go up towards NY on the NJ turnpike past Newark...

Brown Derby sounds yum...thinking seriously about making an ADR there next year:cool1:

love that you rode RnRC...everytime we've been to DHS we've missed it...want to make sure its a priority to ride with Em next year for her bday...still not sure about ToT...:rolleyes1

40 minutes for TSM really is walk on...:lmao:

Can't wait to hear about Artist's Point...popcorn::

Good luck tonight!!!

I :lovestruc Star Tours! I am anxious to see what the rehab looks like when they are finished -- yet another way for Disney to make sure I keep coming back.

The Photopass picture of you and Denny is very cute!!!

I've noticed that about the mugs as well -- I would never have the nerve to use ones from previous years -- I am so not a rule-breaker. :lmao:

I stopped by to see if there was a soccer update yet...

Our high school football team plays tomorrow in the championship game. This is really something considering the rarity of a winning season for our town and the fact they have never won any playoff game. This year they are undefeated going into their last game. Lots of nervous excitement!

I scrolled back through this TR some thinking I had seen a report on Citricos but couldn't find it. I'm also assuming on this deluxe trip, you also went to California Grill. Which did you prefer? Stop over on my PTR and give me your opinions!

I was so so so so behind!

I can't believe I missed the update about your Brown Derby lunch. :scared1:

I know - this is totally your fav restaurant and it was so good. I think I liked my HBD lunch better than last year's HBD dinner.

Jen & I really enjoyed our lunch at Brown Derby when it was empty.

It was pretty cool being in there when it was empty. Then as it started to fill up they sat a table of about 10 next to us. There were a bunch of little kids at the table, but they were all so well behaved.

You are right...40 minutes is practically a walk on for Toy Story Mania! :3dglasses

It was!!!! It was a continuous 40 (actually 30) slow walk to the start of the attraction. Really a nice queue, so I didn't mind at all.

good luck!!!

:cheer2:Good Luck!!:cheer2:

I hope the game goes well...:cheer2:

Good luck tonight!!!

I stopped by to see if there was a soccer update yet...

Thank You All for the Well Wishes! See Game Results in Next Post!!!!!!!!

I love that you wonder about the people coming back from trips when you see the airport lights...I do that too...:goodvibes when I drive down 95 past the airport or when I go up towards NY on the NJ turnpike past Newark...
:

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who does that. I'm sort of a travel nerd - I like maps, distances, travel times. And I always think about my friends/family if I know they are traveling. I think about my DIS friends too, when I know they have just left on a trip.

Brown Derby sounds yum...thinking seriously about making an ADR there next year:cool1:
:

Ohhhhh! I think you should if you've never eaten there. I forget where you said you were going for the big 16 dinner, but I think the BD is a very nice, upscale meal, complete with memorbilia, and dead center in a theme park. It doesn't get much better than that. I have had two very good meals there.
I think its a good OOP meal unless you are on the DxDP.

love that you rode RnRC...everytime we've been to DHS we've missed it...want to make sure its a priority to ride with Em next year for her bday...still not sure about ToT...:rolleyes1

We missed it in June because we got TSM FP's first, then ToT FP's second. My nephew (9) was with us and he wanted to do ToT, so I made that a priority. When we went back to get RnR FP's they were all gone. Such a bummer! :sad2: So I had to make up for it this trip.

40 minutes for TSM really is walk on...:lmao:

What's the chance of that happening again in this lifetime! :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about Artist's Point...popcorn::

Coming soon. And....I will give you a hint.....it was my top meal of the trip for a variety of reasons!

I :lovestruc Star Tours! I am anxious to see what the rehab looks like when they are finished -- yet another way for Disney to make sure I keep coming back.

I love Star Tours, too. I am a big fan of simulator rides. And I love the whole star wars theme. It's a classic!

The Photopass picture of you and Denny is very cute!!!

Thanks!!!!!

I've noticed that about the mugs as well -- I would never have the nerve to use ones from previous years -- I am so not a rule-breaker. :lmao:

I really noticed it BIG TIME this trip. That's why I felt compelled to mention it. It was so freak'n obvious!

Our high school football team plays tomorrow in the championship game. This is really something considering the rarity of a winning season for our town and the fact they have never won any playoff game. This year they are undefeated going into their last game. Lots of nervous excitement!

That is soooooooo cool! They must be super excited! Those stands are going to be packed. I hope they win!!!!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I scrolled back through this TR some thinking I had seen a report on Citricos but couldn't find it. I'm also assuming on this deluxe trip, you also went to California Grill. Which did you prefer? Stop over on my PTR and give me your opinions!

No Citricos. We opted for Narcoosees instead. To date on this trip we've eaten at Narcoosees, Flying Fish, Brown Derby as our signature meals..... and Artist Point is up next. I really loved the food as Flying Fish the best. For overall experience, I would say AP and Cali Grill (from last trip) are a tie!

I am so glad you pointed out that you started a PTR. I must look and see when you are going. It isn't, by any chance, when I am going, is it???????
