Is there anyway to get from disney to island of adventure w no car.. Asside of course from a taxi.. Does the magic express drop off anywhere near by that we can walk.. Im not sure the distance between the parks..

They are about 8 miles apart- there's no way to walk between them

You can take public transportation but I believe that there are like 3-4 transfers you need to make

You can pay for a taxi or a mears shuttle

You can rent a car

That's about it... maybe hitchhike ;)

Aside from a taxi or a car the only way to get to US will be a shuttle or a car service. Mears runs a shuttle but you are on their schedule. A car service gives you flexibility but will probably be as much or more than a taxi. I don't know what is best. A lot of people make the journey every day. Have fun.

We've always used the Mears shuttle.....and plan to again in Dec.
It is $20 rt and picks you up at your resort.

We are renting a car. Picking up from the Dolphin. Will have it for three days, drop back off at dolphin. Total cost $96.00 from Expedia. I know we will have to pay for parking at universal, but I am not fond of waiting around for a ride to show up and truthfully the rental car in the end ended up costing about the same for us as mears shuttle would have been

good point at almost 50$ for mears for all 3 of us a rental for the day might not be bad

IMHO, I think a cab is the best bet. The cost difference is negligible compared to other options, and it allows you to leave at your own convenience rather than a scheduled time. Plus it's a direct route to Universal. We'll be doing this in November - once we've decided we're done at MK for the day, we'll head back to CBR and get our bags from bell services and have a cab called.

PP Harbin, Don't forget you will also have to pay to park at the Dolphin. Still worth the rental IMO. Nice to have access to a car. However, if OP is staying onsite at WDW, they would not have to pay to park a rental--except at Univesal.

Disney Magical Express will not drop you off anywhere near Universal. Mickey would prefer you stayed on his property. You can go, but you'll need to arrange and pay for your transportation yourself.

There are 4 methods you can choose:

1) Rental car

2) Shared shuttle

3) Private car service

4) Taxi

There are pros and cons to each. Car rental can be easy and you can get discounts, but you have to pay for parking at Universal. Shared shuttle via Mears works great for 1-2 persons if they are not in a hurry to get there or get home (as the shuttle will stop at several other resorts most likely - they do have very early shuttles). Hiring a towncar or a taxi may be the best choice for larger parties who aren't interested in car rental.

I think the OP was noting that there is a car rental outlet inside the Dolphin resort and you can pick up and return a car there. If you are staying there and keeping the car overnight, then yes, you do have to pay to park there. If you are staying at a Disney resort then you don't have to pay for parking.

Try uber.com.

I believe they are in the Orlando market now, and If you sign up for a new account, I believe your first ride is mostly covered by the intro credit.
