Looking to go to GF Main Buliding Club Club/Concerige MK View with Disney Deluxe Dining in late August. I can't get the AAA Discount with a Package by booking direct with Disney. So I want to book with AAA.

But if I get a Pin Code or a Public Code comes out or Free Dining comes out, I may be able to get a better deal. But my concern is if I then cancel with AAA, and I go to book with WDW, the room type with WDW will no longer be available. And then I will have nothing.

Has this ever happened to anyone?
Can I book with WDW first, and then cancel AAA? It seems like I shouldn't be allowed to have 2 reservations. It would only be temporary.

Any other thoughts, concerns, etc.?
Thanks in advance for any and all concerns.

I think overall it's a risk, because they might not even include the room type you want in any particular discount offer.

I think you just have to determine, if it all comes to pass, whether getting that deal would be worth having to choose a different room or resort. If that is that important to you, I would keep what I had. If saving money is more important, than the opposite.

In any case, you won't know until Disney releases any offers.

I'm sure someone will correct me if IM wrong. you can book through AAA to take advantage of their room only discount, As I did for our 2/29 thru 3/6 vac at Old Key West. The AAA disc was 25%. When Disney offered 30% off rooms, I only needed to call my AAA agent to have my existing Res converted to the Dis. Disc. , The res # stayed the same the only thing that changed was the cost. Even though you are taking advantage of the Dis Disc. The Res still is controlled by AAA, and any additional changes will need to be mde through them. If a better deal IE free dining comes along, you simply need to call your AAA agent and they will be able to change the res. for you.

I think I am going to make 2 reservations. One through Disney direct and one with AAA. We are going in early Dec., with no discounts as of yet. Staying at a woods view at the Wilderness Lodge, 7 nights, 4 day park pass and Magic your Way plus dinning. AAA is $266 less than Disney Travel Co.
If I put down 2 deposits of $200 each, I should be able to do this. That way i will be covered if Disney comes up with a discount or free dinning. I will cancel one reservation more than 45 days out.
Has anyone attempted this ??

If I'm understanding you correctly - you're concerned that if you book with AAA, you won't be able to take advantage of any other discount? As poppy jalopy mentioned, that's not the case. If you make a reservation with a AAA travel agent, and another discount is offered that would give a lower, overall package total - you can call your agent and request the new discount.

I have had guests refused a courtesy hold or reservation because they already had something booked - even if there was no money on the booking.

That's not to say that will definitely be the case. Just saying that it can happen.

To be clear - when you talk about "codes" - the codes reflect a particular inventory of rooms. Even when you book rack rate, there's a code on the room, pointing Disney's database to the inventory it should be checking.

When a discount is released, a specific inventory of rooms is set aside. There's absolutely NO guarantee that the particular room type or resort you want will have been put into that inventory. It doesn't matter how many reservations you have before hand.

Additionally, it used to be common practice for people to make multiple bookings because they couldn't decide what they wanted. Disney got wise to it and they did start checking for guests who hold multiple reservations. If they find you holding more than one reservation, they will cancel one of the bookings. I've had them check with guests which should be cancelled, and I've had them cancel one of the two bookings without checking.

Book one reservation. When a discount is released, ask your travel agent to check your reservation for that discount. Or call Walt Disney World directly. The inventory of rooms will be the same, irrespective of how you book. And your room type is either available or it's not. The inventory can certainly change - and what was once not available becomes available - and vice versa. But holding multiple room reservations has absolutely nothing to do with it. Other than possibly giving Disney a false sense of what's booked. Discounts are used to fill rooms that are not selling very well.
