I just received the following PM from a fellow Dis'er. They wish to remain anonymous, so I'm posting it here for them at their request:
"I was talking to my aunt ( Computer Wiz going into making online games soon ) She says yes they say they will close the game to see what the fans think. She says if we stir and get up there they will know what the game is capable of reaching. So depending on our response will keep the game open.
So basically they're just seeing what kind of fan base VMK has and to see if they can change it to pay to play."
The pay to play scenario is what a lot of us are hoping for, I know. I had also thought about the fact that it would possibly be necessary to close VMK for the moment while they revamp to pay-to-play. So not only do we need to keep fighting now, we also need to keep it up if it closes. We CANNOT get discouraged if they do close, and give up on VMK thinking that we've lost. Even if VMK closes, THIS IS NOT OVER. We've got to keep fighting (and we'd have more time to do it!)
It's a long haul.
It is time-consuming.
It's kind of boring writing and sending all those letters.
I know.
But it is so very, very worth it. Do it for your friends, and for the hosts we love, and for the only park fix we have outside the parks themselves. Do it for your escape from the "real world." Do it for the kids who still cry because they're losing something so important to them. Do it for the sake of those whose families have become stronger and more united through VMK, and for those children and adults whose quality of life has been in some measure improved by being able to play it. Do it because there's nothing else out there like it, and never will be.
It's worth it! Isn't it?
