Friendship boats- Will they be operating in early December?

I've read on a Swan and Dolphin thread that the Friendship boats will not be running from late November to mid December! Is this true? We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn and hoped to use the boats for getting to Hollywood Studios. It's one of the reasons why we always stay at one of the Epcot resorts.

This shouldn't have an impact on your ability to get to/from Epcot and DHS. Both parks are within walking distance to Swan/Dolphin and even if the Friendship boats are not running bus transportation is always provided as an alternative if the boats are down and you do not feel like walking.

My husband sent an email last night to George Kalogridis , an executive at Disney. We received a phone call this morning with the following answer:
1. There will be no pedestrian impact on the IG during the construction of the skyliner.
2. Yes there will be an impact on the Friendship Boats to Epcot.
3. There will be no impact on the Friendship boats to HS.
4. There will be no impact on the walkway to HS.
5. They apologized that no formal notice has gone out and they are working on a formal notice to be sent out.

So it sounds like the boats will be running between BW and DHS but not to Epcot’s IG.

But this doesn't provide any actual info. It's just states an assumption that the boats won't be running based on the previously reported notice from Swan/Dolphin. There's no mention of any confirmation from WDW or inside sources.

As Disney Skyliner construction continues near International Gateway at Epcot in the coming months, International Gateway will remain open to Guests traveling along the connected pedestrian walkway.

During construction, Friendship Boat service will remain available to the resort hotels around Crescent Lake as well as Disney's Hollywood Studios. While Friendship Boat service to Epcot is expected to be unavailable from late November until mid-December, Guests will be able to use bus service or the walkway to access Epcot.​

Looks like SD has changed there original message that said the following:

Swan And Dolphin Resort Transportation Services
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is an Epcot® resort hotel. Guests of the resort enjoy complimentary scheduled transportation throughout the entire Walt Disney World® Resort so that you can come and go at your convenience.


Beginning November 28, 2018 until December 18, 2018, Disney's Friendship Boat service will be temporarily suspended and not operational until December 19, 2018. Disney's Bus Transportation will be provided to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.


I guess there was so much upset over this and the fact that guests staying at the actual Disney owned resort had received no notification they had to update the information to what is now stated.
