friends making ressies

What is the ressie protocol? Can I have a friend make spa or Palo ressies for me if I am elsewhere? Can anyone make ressies if they have your stateroom # or do you need to actuially present the Key to the world card with that stateroom #?

When I made reservations on board for Palos on 1/31, they just asked me for the date, time, name, and stateroom number. They have a very old word processor, called pencil and paper, doing the reservations.

Given Cap's response to your question, someone from our group probably will be able to make Palo and spa reservations for you! That is good news! Maybe you can post on the Yahoo site what your room number is and what times you want reservations for and those of us who get to the port early can make them for you.

Maybe I'm misundertanding the original post.

But I would think unless that person is from your immediate party i.e.your stateroom or your spouse, while technically you could have somebody make the reservation for you, isn't that unfair?

As an example,if my sister and family are on the same cruise as we are, if she gets to the port and on board 2 hours before me i could have her make my Palo ressies for me and my husband when I'm not even onboard yet.

We could divide and conquer. I go get the Palo ressies for multiple parties and they could get me spa ressies. I think this would be unfair to those not travelling in a larger group.

Or why not set up some sort of a network with DIS friends for teh person who gets there first to make everybodies? Seems to put others at a disadvantage.

On the other hand,if one spouse goes to palo and one to dining changes I don't think that's an unfair advantage,because you're one group and just trying to be more efficient,and it doesn't require both of you at each.

Agan maybe I misubderstood. If so,hold back the flames.

She is asking because due to her large party all meeting up together, they do not fly in until that day and arrive at the terminal shortly before sailing. We are just hoping that those of us who get there before her might be able to help her secure Palo ressies, just like any of the other DIS favors that are done around here all the time. No one is trying to cheat the system... just help a friend. *smiles*

With all due respect,I think this is unfair. DIS favors are wonderful, I certainly agree. But this particular DIS favor could negatively impact others given the shorage of Palo times,and therefore it puts the OP at an unfair disadvavntge. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry, I don't think so... it's no different than one person at WDW saving a spot in line while the rest of their family goes and has a snack. Besides, I have no desire to go to Palo, so if it makes you feel better, she is taking my reservation.
