Hi - Friends of ours told us they are planning to go to WDW at the same time we go (Oct. 2004). They procrastinated booking their suite at the same time we did and have since lost out on a good rate.

We are staying at Homewood Suites, Palm Parkway for $66/night (rates are now about $94/night). Does anyone know of another suite hotel that is close by, clean and reasonably priced?

Thanks!

Have them call the Homewood Suites again and ask something like "Are there any discounts available?" or "That is more than we wanted to spend. Do you have any special at that time?" We are staying at the same hotel in January for the second time. At the risk of repeating myself (as I have posted this info before).. When I first called this time around they quoted me $109/night. I told them that I had seen the hotel for $99/night online, but I was hoping for a "repeat customer" discount, as I had only paid $59/night previously. They then offered me the room for $69/night. I was thrilled. But I kept looking around. I called them a few weeks later and told them that I was thinking of cancelling my reservation because I had found a few other cheaper "suite" properties (specifically Days Suites at Old Town). I told them that Days was offering me about $55/night. Homewood then offered me their room for $59/night!!! BUT DON"T FORGET.... I am staying during Value season. If you and your friends are going around Halloween for MNSSHP and availability is limited, then you won't have so much room for negotiation. HOPE THIS HELPS......P;)

WHOOOPSSS!!!!!! My mistake.... we stayed at the Homewood Suites on Parkway Blvd in Kissimmee..... but the basic information is the same. Keep asking for discounts!!!

one night stay at the days inn suites at old town was enough to make my brother in law and his wife buy DVC...needless to say they said the accomodations at OLD town days inn were deplorable...unless things have changed a lot since then....eg a mjor renovation, they had nothing good to say about days inn suites

you cannot even compare Days Inn to Homestead...but if the leverage works why not use it..

We stayed at Days Suites in November 2002 and it was great. We paid $39.95/nite for a 1-bedroom and it was huge. I would gladly stay there again.

As for getting a better rate at Homewood, definitely call the hotel directly - not the 800 number - and see what they can do for you. If you are a Hilton Honors club member, let them know that (and if you're not, consider signing up). Also, check the website (homewoodsuites.com) for any web specials.

As for other suite hotels, besides the Days Suites, there is the other Homewood in Kissimmee, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Residence Inn and others. You can also consider renting a 2-bedroom condo at a place like Windsor Palms where rates start as low as $55/nite. In fact, if you and your friends would be willing, you could share a 3-bedroom house for under $100/nite.

Lots of options in the Disney area.
