Do I need to be there at check-in to present my cast member id in order to get someone the friends and family room rate? Or do I need to present my id at some point?

You have up to 24 hours in advance (of their check-in) to visit the resort and show your id! They'll ask for the reservation confirmation number from when you booked it as a F&F discount. I didn't remember to take it, but they were great and looked up the guest by their name.

Thanks! Do you by any chance know if I could add the dining plan on to their reservation without me staying too?

Yep, but do it now. Once you hit the 36 hour window to the reservation you can't add the DDP. Sometimes they have a CM discount for the DDP, but I haven't seen one posted for a while, so it'll be full price.

It does get complicated if you eat with them. They rang up my family on the DDP and then rang mine up seperate with the CM discount. Even though my mom put all of it on her CC, they always processed it seperately.

what are the discounts right now for friends and family? is it only when the CM is there or can a CM there now for spring book for someone who wants to go after the program?

At the Disneyland Resort, Friends & Family Rates vary based on availability and demand, and are based as a percentage off the published room rate.

At the Walt Disney World Resort, Friends & Family Rates vary based on availability and demand, and are generally a significant amount off published rack rates

All WDP&R Hotel Cast Discounts require that the Cast Member or employee utilizing them be actively employed with The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies at the time of booking and check-in.

When I booked a room for my mom and sister and it asked me if I was staying in the room with them, I said no and it let me have the discount without showing my ID... So maybe do you only have to show ID if you're staying with them for the even bigger discount?:confused3

Really? That's ineresting. I'm surprised they didn't ask when your mom and sister checked in.

hmm thanks for the info. better to be safe and book during a time when my friend(s) will be there then. do you know how discounts are determined? when we spoke last, they said they'd get 40% off rooms without them staying with me and 50% off if they do stay with me

I have another question along the same lines. I've been looking on the hub, but I must be looking over something. How do I actually make a hotel reservation with my discount for myself or for family & friends?
