We have always stayed at Riverside and love it, but booked FQ for a last minute trip. Aside from no table service restaurant, different pools and the decor, is there anything really different in a bad way? Thanks

i haven't stayed at POR, but when we stayed at POFQ the only downside was the boat to Disney Springs was full and it took a couple of boats before we finally got on one. Found out after the trick was to walk to POR boat dock.

On our last 2 trips after 4:30pm the boat to & from DS was no longer shared coming or going with POR.
OP you can walk up to POR to use any of their pools. We go up several times a trip to POR either to use their pool, foodcourt or visit their bars ( inside or the pool) for a change of scenery in addition to eating at Boatwright's

I agree POFQ is better, we stayed both. I prefer POFQ. If the boat is full, take the boat going to POR, just stay on it and got back down to POFQ and on to DS. You will find bus service mush better at POFQ, we did, a lot less crowded, we never shared a bus with POR, as they say they do. The pool is a little more childish, but as others say you can boat ride up to POR and use the main pool or the quiet pools there. If you have never taken the horse drawn carriage ride, I suggest it, book the last one of the night, I think 9:30 and ask to go down to POFQ, they have different routes they can take, that one will bring you thru POR and POFQ, it is the best ride on site. You did not say if you have kids, another difference you can not walk in or out of the main lobby without someone giving you necklesses and some times fake coins, the kids love them and they can make a wish at the fountains. The lobby is smaller and a lot less crowded, at POR they lost our ressies, aa d we waited for over and hour at 2am, then they just gave us a room and said come back in the morning, and it took another hour. At POFQ we arrived at like 1:30 and was in our room 15 minutes later. POFQ has the biggest and I mean buggiest ice cream cookie sandwiches you have ever seen in your life, we are foodies and none of us can finish one, and you get to pick what kind of cookies and what kind of ice cream you want. When you want to refill your mug, POFQ is the only resort that makes it easy, you don't have to walk far to get to it, you can walk from the furthest room and be back in your room 5 minutes later. The only real down fall we had was you can not take a bus or boat first thing in morning to POR, you can after 10, but since the buses don't share in am and the boats are not running, you have to hoof it if you wish breakfast at POR.

We stay at both FQ and POR. We love both equally. It's so pretty to walk from one to the other on the path by the river. You MUST do it!! Enjoy!!!!

We have stayed at both. Love POFQ and will never return to POR. The "benefit" of a table service restaurant is not important to us because we've tried Boatwrights multiple times and hated it.

FQ is, in our opinion, far more relaxed and quiet. I don't really care either way for the theme of either pool but we never had a problem getting chairs at POFQ, even under the umbrellas. And I like that the hot tub at FQ is behind the pool and bar. Fewer unattended kiddos because their parents can't watch them in there from their pool chairs...

We usually stay at POFQ because of its small size...BUT I always end up walking back and forth between the resorts, anyway.

I love both and stay at whichever has the better room rates for our stay. Often the only rooms left at POR are Royal so we can stay Standard at FQ cheaper.

That's funny. I hated that and it's just me, no kiddo (unless DGD is with us). But I like being around the bigger pool and being able to go back and forth. I hated having to leave the gate for the hot tub.

Agree. And it is very small, not much bigger than the one in my backyard.

We are currently staying at Riverside but usually stay at FQ. We love FQ because of the size of the resort. I have trouble walking, so for me Riverside is too big and spread out. And IMO Boatrights is not that great, so it's not a big seller on choosing this resort. We chose it this trip because FQ wasn't available with free dining. Also, the buses at POR are annoying since there are 4 stops instead of just one at POFQ.

Tom are the beignets a snack option?

You can buy them in packs of 3's or 6's. The 3 pack is definitely a snack credit. You can also use snack credits to buy a dipping sauce, which is not a good use of a dining credit. It's just a very small plastic container of caramel or chocolate that you can purchase for $1.99.
