French Quarter vs Riverside

If you're used to deluxe you should go with CSR. How old are the kids? If they are under 5 or 6, go with port Orleans. The slide at POFQ is lame. Short. Slow. Not the least bit thrilling. Kind of a hassle to walk all the way over to Riverside for the pool. Plus, French Quarter doesn't have any quiet pools.
We haven't been since they started the pet-friendly policy. I can't imagine there will be that many dogs there though. They charge a fortune to bring your dog.

Those are our families favorite Mods, closely followed by CSR We like the pool layout of both the PO resorts, but CSR has the best slide. A good thing about the PO resorts is that you can use both resorts pools.

I have stayed at all 3 of the resorts in question. We just got back from our 1st stay at CSR on 2/6. We had requested a refurbished room and did not get one. We were in Ranchos 7B and the construction had no impact on our stay. While we liked CSR it was our least favorite of the 3 with POR being our favorite. The theming and landscape are just much more appealing at POR for us. Don't get me wrong, they are all nice and I would not hesitate to stay at any of them again. Good luck with your decision!

We have always loved POR, the beautiful scenery, food court, quiet pathways, lots of activities available, huge gift shop, Yea Ha Bob, etc. We thought we'd never change until the dog policy came into being.
We had our reservation booked for POR before that was set up. When we found out, we immediately changed to POFQ. It is not our first choice, but looks like a very nice resort.
We love dogs but as the OP said, just don't want to vacation with them at a resort meant for people, not dogs.
So we are going to POFQ in less than 2 weeks now, and can't wait. As far as the pools, we don't use them, but you can use both of them if you want.
So, I don't know if this helps, but we are giving FQ a try for now. Maybe we will go back to our first love, POR, in the future?
