Freezer Question

Somehow the outlet our chest freezer is plugged into got tripped and was turned off. I don't know when this happened. The problem is that it is FULL of meat...meat that was starting to defrost. The centers are all still frozen but some definately have a 'give' to them.

Do I refreeze? Cook it all and freeze it? There is about 9lbs of ground beef. 2 roasts, a bunch of steaks, a chicken, 10lbs of chicken breasts.

I know consertative people will say toss but it really is cold like it has been in a fridge defrosting for a few hours. The stuff that wasn't right on the top of bottom is still frozen solid so are the soup and gumbo I had frozen in ziplocks.

What the deal on refreezing partially unfrozen meat?

cool. I'm refreezing the cooked food, roasts and steaks since they all still have ice crystals. They are all in freezer bags and there is no defrost 'juice.' The chicken and ground beef are all being cooked tonight.
