Free WiFi?

Are there any locations on Disney World property that offers free wifi? We are going to be there on Cyber Monday and might want to do some online shopping.

In general, there is a $9.95/day charge for Wi-Fi access, which is generally available in the lobby and business areas of the resorts with convention areas.

There was at one point recently free Wi-Fi in the lobby of the Beach Club. I do not know if that is still the case however. It was never announced, but confirmed by a CM there.

I remember that there was open Wi-Fi at the WWS complex.

I thought I read that Coronado Springs lobby was going to have free wi-fi...
I do believe that the McDonald's on property and at DTD both have free wi-fi.

On a previous post someone did state that the McDonald's, at least the non-DTD site, had access. This is of interest to me as well because I am a graduate student and will need access to the internet for my class during our upcoming trip.

Thanks for the info. I knew about the charge for wifi, but I hate to pay if I can get it somewhere for free. I was wondering about McDonald's, since alot of them around where I live have free wifi, but didn't know for sure about there at Disney. We will be staying at All Star Music, so hopefully people are right and that McDonald's has free wifi. My DS loves McDonald's anyway, so it would be a win win.

Most USA McDonald's do offer Wi-Fi.

At most, however, it is not free (certain exceptions apply.)

yes, it appears several (if not all) of the convention resorts wifi in common areas is now free

the parks each have spots that have free wifi too, although it's limited. for example, Epcot has it in Innoventions East and currently has it by the Odyssey building. MK has it by City Hall, etc.

I have never heard of wifi being free anywhere on WDW property and there never any wifi, even paid, of any sort in the parks.

If it was, there would be a rush of people to those resorts and then instead of pool hopping arguments we would have wifi hopping arguments.

I would assume they would do it the same way as many other hotels for this exact reason.

As long as you have a room number and last name that matches you get free access in the Lobby.

This is the way most Sheratons do it.
I assume this is the same for the Swan and Dolphin, but since access is included in the resort fee I never use the laptop in the lobby.

beach club has had it for several months now. no login required, just immediate access. some are quick to say it must be a mistake, but it's still there.

in addition, i've heard of the contemporary specifically, the poly and a couple of others.

I don't have nor have I seen a complete list, I'm pretty sure an official one isn't really available, just the few I've seen, but I don't recall all offhand.
