Hi all,

I am renting points from a wonderful DVC'er and she mentioned that there would be free valet parking for me since I am a guest of hers. True? That is very, very nice...if true.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I've never valet parked before......

Do I tell the valet? Or just have him park it (not saying a word) but then the front desk just knows and doesn't charge? {I wasn't sure if you paid the valet or if it was just charged to the room}.

TIA!

P.S. Curious about one other thing....if I visit another DVC resort....is it free valet parking there also? I don't envision that I will...I was just curious. THANKS AGAIN!!

As far as I know and understand it, as long as you are staying at a DVC resort on points, YES you do get free valet parking. As far as if you go to another DVC resort and want to valet park -- situation is the same. Just show them your resort I.D.card which should say DVC member on it -- showing the other DVC resorts that you are entitled to valet park at no charge. I've never actually rented my pts to anyone (or rented from someone)so another poster may want to verify this for me. I do know though that the no charge valet parking is only good at the DVC resorts not for the regular wdw resorts (ie. GF or YC,etc.). HTH's;)

Just wanted to say that although DVC members do not pay the daily charge, a tip for the valet is still appropriate. Some people tip for both drop off and pick up, others tip only for pick up. We tip $2 - $3 each time, depending on the service.

Enjoy your stay!

When I did it, I actually had to show my DVC owner card--not sure if others had this experience. I needed both the windshield card and my membership card to get the free parking. The valet then put a special note on the valet slip.

When I stayed at BWV last month, I never showed my card, they just went by the parking permit that said "member parking permit". I think they did ask if we were members when we arrived the first time.

Keep in mind that free valet parking is only available at the DVC resorts; at all other resorts you pay the $6 fee.

There is a sheet of paper you are given upon arrival that you put in your car's windshield. This tells the valet that you are a dvc member.

There is valet parking at BWV, BCV & VWL which is free to DVC members. OKW does not have valet parking.
