Free Upgrades for later dates??

With all the free upgrades for labor day and free dining what is everyones feeling on later dates in Sept? Do you think they are going to offer the same upgrades for other weeks? Are they just as full? Or am I just dreaming? We have 2 rooms at All star movies for Sept 18th to 28th. I know I would loooooveee an upgrade. And a studio would even be more than awesome.

I am hoping too since we have 2 rooms at ASMo 9/21-10/1. POP is sold out for those days, ASMo only has preferred rooms but ASMu and ASSp still have rooms. But with free dining ending in 2 weeks, you never! I would love to switch for 2 rooms to a 2bdr this way we can share one place!

What happened last year? I thought I read that some people got these last year too during free dining. Was it just over Labor Day or through all of it?

Great post, I would love to know if anyone gets an upgrade for late Sept. We are also checking in on Sept. 21, and I am SOOOOO hoping for this upgrade. We have never stayed at a DVC. I am so excited about getting free dining again, I can't even imagine how crazy excited I will be if I am lucky enough to somehow get this upgrade!!!!!!!

Thats too funny I was thinking the same thing, how cool would it be to share a 2 bedroom. But it sounds like most are just getting studio's or 1 bedrooms. Last year we checked in 9/6. I am happy to go either way but boy am I jealous of all the upgrades hehe.

We have 6 (possibly 7 of us) so there is no way we could do a 1bdr. We have 2 rooms currently.. but I highly doubt they would upgrade someone with a party of 6 (or 7) to a 2bdr. One can hope. Although, it would free up 2 value rooms for them! If not, I am just thankful to have 11 nights at Disney! And to take 2 trips, 11 days apart!

I agree. We have 10 nights and that is more than i can ask for. 11 days apart do you come back to CT in between? Thats so awesome.

I suspect that the same "overbooking" issue will be the case for us "later in Sept." folks, too. I'm watching my email and the boards like a hawk and I'll be on the phone in a heartbeat if I get the offer! Let's all keep this thread active so we can be informed.

Yes, we are flying down 9/7 for 4 nights with just DH and I for our anniversary. Then we fly back home and then leave 9/21 for 11 nights with the kids! That is a surprise trip for them!

I did search the boards and try and find out if last year those that were at the tail end got free upgrades but I didnt see dates posted. I am soo hoping so! I would rather have a 2bdr than 2 rooms.

I would love this too. I am going to be out of town for two weeks starting tom and no access to the internet. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Hopefully I can get my MIL to check every couple hours since we are treating her and FIL to this trip also. We too have 2 rooms at ASMu.

I just called back CRO twice to make sure my request for a partial refund for the stupid payment online was there in my account. I just dont trust them to refund me back $875! I asked both CMs about upgrades for later. They said it is a good possibility (BOTH said this!) but they are only targetting those who booked values. Both that I spoke to said availability is very limited the entire free dining period at all values. So the guy I spoke to said to keep my eye on my emails (and junk folder) because it very well could happen. I asked about having 1 family using 2 rooms and what would they upgrade to. He said most like a studio and a 1bdr. Well, wouldnt that be a 2bdr if they connected it? Oh well.. I am sure it will be a couple of weeks AT LEAST before we get emails if we do. If not, ASMo here we come!!

We have a Grand Gathering (8 of us) arriving on the 26th. I was also thinking that Disney would be smart to trade our 3 rooms at ASMu for one, 2bdrm unit!!!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed but really....I'll just be happy to be there!!!!

Does anyone know if they are upgrading both standard and preferred room reservations? I booked a standard room and although I haven't read all of the posts, the ones that I did read mentioned they had preferred rooms originally booked. Just wondering if I even have a shot.

Ah ha!!! I just started a new thread asking the exact same question a few minutes ago!!!

I would make sense for WDW to free up ONLY preferred rooms for new bookings!!! More $$$$ for the new packages!! Oh well...figures it's the first time we did NOT book preferred!!!
