Free upgrade to OKW or SSR, but no car??

Sooooooooo Excited!!!! I received the email this morning and thought it was a joke! But I called anyway and got the studio at SSR. Then I came on here and saw that some of you were getting upgraded to a 1 BR villa, so I called back and got it!!!!!

I will have a 3 month old and 5 year old at the time, so the bedroom will be awesome!!!!
I love Disney!

Just got off phone with Disney. We are confirmed for a 1 bedroom villa at SSR. We did have to modify our dates by a few days. We were originally going 9/26-10/2. but the CM said there was no availabilty left so we changed our dates to 9/28-10/4. Not 100% happy about changing dates due to school sched, etc. but Im not about to complain about this upgrade.

Oh, I also didnt have to pay off the blance. The CM never mentioned it.

Yea - I'm having my mom call right now. The CM I got was kinda snippy. And mom is better at negotiating with people than I am. So - here's hoping.

has anyone tried to pay additional for an upgrade to a 2BR suite? My sister is thinking about going with us if we could do that, but we probably wouldn't be able to add them to the reservation because of our free dining.

Got the pin, called and CM says no availability at either resort! SO disappointed! This is our first trip, and were thrilled about the upgrade.

When I called about the upgrade, the reservationist mentioned the availability of both 1-bedroom and studios.

Of course I took the 1-bedroom!!

disney did this last year also when they overbooked the value resorts. it's really free from what i understand.

(you don't have to attend a timeshare presentation. but...if you like the room and decide to investigate DVC and maybe buy in...maybe they would be willing to work something out... )

We got the email and upgrade to SSR since it was the only one available for the duration of our trip (9/19-9/25) So if you attend a presentation do they give any perks?

Also should we try to see if we can get a 1 bdrm since a lot of people have had that luck instead of a studio?

My husband just got the pin in his email around 10:00. He was at work so he forwarded it to me, and I was SO excited. I am an adult now and my family has been going to Disney since we were babies, and we've never gotten a pin offer. I should also add that I am a HORSE NUT! So, ever since it's been built I've always wanted to visit Saratoga Springs. I never thought I'd stay there with the prices.

I called as soon as he sent it to me, but it was a 30+ minute wait. I called again at noon, still had to wait about 20 minutes for a CM, but, I gave her the pin and asked about SSR. The cast member was great, we got our upgrade, she got us a room with bars on the tub (I have a disability.) She put in a request to be near a bus stop so I wouldn't have to walk as far. (I know it might not happen, but it was nice of her.)

We did have to pay the balance of our trip, but we were due to pay in five days anyway. Also, I read the email so I assumed we were getting a Studio. However, when my husband hung up, he thought the woman said 'villa.' I told him no, but sure enough, an hour later our confirmation email arrived.

-Magic your Way Standards
-Hopper for 7 Days
-1 BR VILLA at SSR!

So, to go from Standard All-Star Sports Room to 1 BR Villa SSR!
I also checked, our celebration (Honeymoon) is carried over!

I am staying at POP 8/31 - 9/5 and haven't received a pin code

If I haven't gotten one, does that mean I wont get one at all?

Any particular reason most people are choosing SSR over OKW? (making me second guess my decision) Or is that simply all thats available or offered for your times?

What the CM told me was that, since I originally had a Standard Room at ASMo, the $16 charge is for changing from Standard to Preferred. Basically they changed you to preferred and then give you the option of studio or 1br villa. The people who are getting the FREE 1br is because they had preffered.

You can still have the studio FOR FREE if you want. It is a choice. My CM asked me if I want to move to 1br for the charge or stay at studio with no extra charge. I desided to upgrade since it was still a great deal. Our total for the trip is;

$1011.46 for 2ppl, 4nights at a 1br Villa @ Saratoga Springs, with Free Dining, Magic your Way tickets!....PLUS IT'S MY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!

you might get fast passes for touring the models of BLT and AKV. you might get (very small) gift cards. you might only get some ice cream. taking the tour is worthwhile if you're interested but they don't usually go overboard on perks.

i suspect the 1BRs are pretty much booked up by now...JMO. you could call if you want.

I would like to say I'm a DVC member and I'm very happy for everyone upgrading. We bought into AKV but so far only stayed in SSR, and it was great. We stayed at SSR in June, we liked it so much we didn't want to leave the room. If you can request the Springs area, it's close to everything, I forget what building we stayed at but it was far. If you can take a tour it's nice and relax, and consider buying into DVC. We love DVC and I can't wait to stay at some of the other places. So I hope everyone enjoys their stay

Hmmm....we had a standard room booked for 4 nights at All-Star Sports, were able to upgrade to a 1-bedroom at SSR and the total ended up being about 40 cents less somehow? The reservationist offered both the 1-bed and the studio....my choice.

We have a Grand Gathering going in Sept/Oct and my SIL got the PIN this morning. Called and all the studios AND 1 bdrms are already booked at both resorts. They said to keep trying back b/c it might change.

We had a standard room at AsSp, and the CM gave us a 1 bdroom without any additional charge. . I told the CM I'd prefer SSR hoping Id get the 1 bdroom. With two small boys it'll be nice to have a little personal space at night, lol.

I also felt a little frustrated with the CM telling me there was no availablity for my original dates, but oh well. Thats what I get for not checking my email early in the morning.
