Free upgrade to OKW or SSR, but no car??

Just called a few minutes ago and was able to add another night at the 1-bedroom villa at SSR with another night of free dining for a whopping $92 and some change.

I'm absolutely delighted. AND it was only $10 to change our flights.

We're going Sept 24-Oct 1st and have called almost everyday since we received the pin. Each time we were told there was nothing for our dates. I was disappointed at first but I'm good now. We stay at the parks all day and really don't spend much time at the hotel. I'm just glad we're going again this year.

We were originally going 9/26 thru 10/3 as well. There wasnt any availability when I first called either, but we pushed our arrival day back by 2 days and got the 1BR. have you thought about changing your dates? this might help

We were told it was the first two days of our stay that was full. They also said that because we already purchased our airfare we couldn't move things around. I know we didn't purchase any kind of insurance so I guess everything is set in stone. Oh well, maybe next time.

I have stayed at OKW w/ a car and never moved it all week. We always ust disney transportation and did here to. Yeah it's spread out a big more but people complain about that at the moderates too. The only issue I had w/ OKW busses were mid day (let's say 11-2) they seemed to be less frequent than other times, like you would have to wait 30 minutes instead of 20. But for me 10 minutes is no big deal if I dont have to take my car.

We stayed in a studio room at OKW and it was nice. Definately alot more space and the private balcony is a nice place to relax. The bathroom is huge and we loved it. The small kitchen (micro/fridge) also came in handy. I would stay at OKW again and would love to try SSR. If I got one of these pin's I would jump at the chance, its a really good 'value' for the price of a value room.

And now I see that this year it seems be over a longer time. But I haven't gotten a PIN yet? Actually, I have never gotten a PIN from Disney. What am I doing wrong? Going at least once a year?

Yep. That's it. I have never gotten a pin either. But my sister has (she went once with us in 2004) a couple times, my ex has (the trips were always in my name) sent to MY email in his name afer we split up (i was NOT happy), my dad has (was booked to go w/ us in 04 and cancelled, has never been), my new husband got one last December (again trips only in my name, never his). So what about me? I go every year, have AP's off and on and spend a good portion of my income a year at WDW. Why do I never get one? B/c they know I'm coming back anyway regardless of a pin. That just my $.02 though. But I am not above calling and having them check my name for a pin and begging. Which is what I will be doing in the morning. Wish me luck.

What the CM told me was that, since I originally had a Standard Room at ASMo, the $16 charge is for changing from Standard to Preferred. Basically they changed you to preferred and then give you the option of studio or 1br villa. The people who are getting the FREE 1br is because they had preferred.

You can still have the studio FOR FREE if you want. It is a choice. My CM asked me if I want to move to 1br for the charge or stay at studio with no extra charge. I decided to upgrade since it was still a great deal. Our total for the trip is;

$1011.46 for 2ppl, 4nights at a 1br Villa @ Saratoga Springs, with Free Dining, Magic your Way tickets!....PLUS IT'S MY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!

Hi everybody!

Just want to let you know that I received a called from Disney saying that the charge was a mistake! The CM who helped me with my Upgrade entered the wrong code, so that's why it appears the charge. They found out and give the refund.

Gotta love Disney!

We stayed at OKW last week and we had our car, but we never used it. We were in building 16 and it was within close walking distance to the hospitality house where the restaurant, gift shop, and pool were located. It is very spread out, however, and I would probably have wanted my car if I had gotten one of the outer buildings. The studio was great, btw. Lots more room than we were used to in the standard disney resort room.
