Free refillable mug?

We bought 1 one year, DS used it for a few drinks but probably didn't get much more than the cost value out of it. Last year they were on our DDP so as someone said, used it when eating in resorts and got bottles to save for later. Only time we used them in our own resort(OKW) was the DISmeet. even using it in all resorts we probably only filled them about 10 times each over the 3 weeks. I prefer bottled from the Supermarket, cost $1.38 for 2l (either Coke or Pepsi) at walmart a few days ago.
I wouldn't pay for one but OK when free.

We were actually told on a previous trip that, although we were staying at two different resorts (split stay), our stay counted as one for the purposes of the mug.

To me, using the same mug for a split stay is an entirely different thing to bringing it back year after year.

They won't stop you however it does say on the sign that is by them when you buy them the rules. As they are the same design there is no way of knowing where they bought so that's why they let it go.

I am betting in future it will be linked to the magic bands and the machines will be controlled like the ones at the water parks.

I personally can not be bothered to carry a mug with me - we generally eat in the parks or back in the room.

We used to buy them every trip and I have a cupboard full of CSR ones but now we just buy bottles of soda and we do save money. Last trip was 8 nights - ate at a resort CS twice! Yes I would have filled them more than that had we not had drinks in the room however we had 3 bottles of coke costing $6 and some bottled water, milk and chocolate milk and it all cost less than 1 mug

We only ever do the qsdp so we def get our use from them. We even bought one when we stayed off resort and again it worked out way cheaper for us. We drink a lot of liquid during a normal day so when we are Florida we drink double. We also love to get a hot chocolate just before we go to bed The tea is disgusting in the US even in a proper china cup let alone a plastic mug!
They tried that restricting of where you could use your mugs in the All Stars a few years back...wonder what happened to that test?

We take our mugs to the parks ( we normally buy 3 and share last it we had 1 each due to them being free on the plan but still only took 3 to the parks)
We always put our refill drinks into them from the buffet " we take the cup they give us an pour it into our mugs" as they are much sturdier then we also if we are eating at a resort will fill it up there before going back to the parks,
Even if we only clipped one onto our bags we find it is really handy when you have 3 boys who constantly want to drink!
We normally save our bottles that come with the QS meals for if we got to a non Disney park or for the room if we can't be bothered to travel to fill the mugs
