Yes I am excited!!!!!!! No, I don't use Poise, yet. But after 3 kids....:rotfl2:

I happened to walk by a cardboard display for 14-16 count Poise Pads at Stop & Shop today. They were at the end of the aisle, near the back (coolers) of the store The display mentioned "Free after attached coupon",. So I took a coupon, expecting it to be a mail=in rebate. But noooooo, FREE!!!

I took 4 packages (well because I didn't want to take all of them, but 4 because I like even numbers). The cashier didn't even blink. Regular price was $2.69 each!!!!

I don't get it. What good is a free item that you do not use? Do you know somebody who uses them or are you donating them to an organization that could use them?

I agree it seems like a really odd thing to be "excited" about.

Why wouldn't you leave them for somebody who uses them. What in the world are you going to do with them?

What's next, emptying that little Take a Penny/Leave a Penny change cup just because you can? :confused3

To be honest I do not understand getting excited about having something you cannot use.

All good questions.

I get posting about the coupons on here because there may be people who need them, but taking four boxes of something that you don't need? Nope, not coming up with a good reason for that.

Whoa! My original post was posted to alert my felow Dis'ers about a great deal. WHERE did I say that the pads were being wasted??? They are in a bag going to the local homeless shelter.

Geez. People. Honestly??? Jumping all over me for finding a deal??

Honestly. Very Un-Disney-like!

So....what were you SO excited about? Getting something so you can go donate? Hmm, ok.:confused3

Of course now thy're going to a homeless shelter. Of all the things a homeless shelter needs, you really think Poise pads tops that list?

Just because something is free does not mean you have to take it.

Maybe because you mentioned "I don't use Poise yet...but after 3 kids" people thought that meant you were holding on to them. If I had seen that offer in the store I might have chuckled a bit, and walked past them. I had no idea that a homeless shelter might need them.

The poise liners work well as regular pads, I buy them after doubles for around 50 cents a package.

And yep, I'm excited for the OP. ::yes:: Buying products for free gives you that "rush" feeling (better for you than illicit drugs or gambling). Kudos for finding a product to donate to others in need and not being overly greedy - leaving product and coupons for others. :thumbsup2

Couponing allows me to help the community. Stretching my meager budget to help others. I have "purchased" clearance children's clothes using Target coupons with the intent of donating them to a local free store. $1 or $2 out of my pocket after coupon. My boys are grown up/teen, I have no need for little girl sized jeans. But I'm sure the organization will find a little girl that will be thrilled to have brand new clothes for school. :goodvibes

Nice Find, Happily single!! It's nice to find good items such as this for free to be able to donate. Shelters can and do need items such as these and can put these to good use! Many toiletry items are in very high demand at shelters and are desperately needed. Thank you for thinking of others!! :thumbsup2

Honest question because I see this on here when people get miffed- what do you mean 'un Disney' like? To me it seems that just because we like Disney we're all expected to react happily to everything? Is that what you mean?
anyway good deal on the poise pads. You might actually look into donating them to a nursing home I'm sure they'd gladly take them.

Cool find. I would save those suckers for when you get older and need them. You might be on a fixed income then. I bet they will still be good! You should go back and get more. :scratchin

Good find OP! Every woman has a few friends who could use those things. Matter of fact, it seems like there are loads of people on this thread who might be wishing you had sent them their way! Thanks for the tip! I'll be out looking around here. You are so right that shelters always need stuff like this. :)

It seems really odd to me that a very important point, that the pads would be donated, was missing from the original post. :confused3

Seems un-Disney like to take something you admittedly don't use away from someone who does, and then lie about their intended use.

I have no idea if my friends need these.
