I don't know anything about a chat site but for some things I've just googled what I needed...like "dividing fractions". There are lots of great math sites if you look. Some let you learn for free, some let you use a few times a month before you pay and some are a monthly pay. I haven't paid a thing yet.... but expect to this year. One DD's math is just way beyond me.

What grade? I have a DD's in 8th and in 3rd. If they dont know(Ok I just ask my oldest DD) My Dh would know.

For math and science, check out Khan Academy web site (just google it). Scroll down a bit until you see jump to topic. It isn't a chat site, but you can see some great video tutorials.

Give me a little more info and I'll see if I can help further. What grade/subject?

If your child is in grades 6 through high school, try virtual nerd.com. They explain things with short videos. It covers math from pre-algebra through algebra 2 and geometry. It was a lifesaver for me this summer when I was helping my niece get through an on-line geometry class.
