If Free Dining is offered 11/12/10-11/18/10 but I want to book our trip from 11/11-11/17, will I be able to do that and still get the free dining for the eligible dates? I would plan to pay oop for food on 11/11.

thanks!

Nope. You have to check in on a day that offers free dining in order to get it. If you check in on the last day of free dining, you get it for your entire stay (up to 14 days I believe).

You could do two reservations. Room only for 11/11, then switch to a package for 11/12 to 11/17..to get free dining from 11/12 to 11/17.

Really? The blackout dates don't prevent that from happening? I'm so confused.

This is true. We have done this before. You can stay at the same resort, and ask to stay in the same room, they'll do their best, (although, you do have to check-out, check-in.) Book 2 separate reservations... room only for 1st night, then package with free dining starting on the 12th.

Of course, you can stay at 2 different resorts if you choose. We did this so we could experience different resorts. We had bell services move our luggage.

we changed our dates to get the free dining we are going May 27 to june 9th the free dining is only till June 2nd but since we are staying long we get it till the 9th

Your first day of stay (even if it's the last day of the offer) has to be included to receive FD and all days will have the FD. You do have to have 2 seperate reservations to get FD starting on the 12th. I think you can get the tickets earlier for the package requirement of FD if that helps. You do have to checkin and out as well. Hopefully you can keep the same room. Make sure the reservations are linked if you make the 2 res. (we had to do this in Sept 2008 and we didn't have to change rooms) You can get the room only discount if it's avail for the 11th. Blackout dates AFTER the first day of stay will include FD if you stay into those dates.

yes you will get FD your entire stay if FD is in effect when you arrive..we are doing the same thing in Oct..we check in the last day Oct 7 and staying til 17th and will get FD the entire 9 days

I was running the numbers tonight for a December Christmas trip. We want to go from the 24th to 30th with the dining option at a moderate (CBR)...it looks like we may be better off booking from 12/21 through 12/30 to get the free dining (even though we probably won't arrive until the 24th, maybe 22nd or 23rd if we pull the kids out of school). Anyone ever do anything like this? Does this seem do-able?

The only date that matters is the date you check in. If you check in during the promotion period you are eligible for the promotion for your entire stay up to 14 nights.

I'm trying to figure out the last post. Do you want to make a reservation starting 12/21, but not arrive until 12/24? How do you plan to check in on 12/21 if you do this? You'd have to have someone arrive on 12/21 to check in.

Thanks for the quick reply.

My logic was I've already paid for the package starting the 21st, so if I check in a day or two later, they wouldn't change my package and we'd keep the free dining for the duration.

Something like this happened to us several years ago, bad weather delayed our arrival and we were out the cost of the room for a night, but there was no additional package linked to the arrival.

Not showing up on checkin date intentionally would probably count as a no-show and consequences of that are cacellation with no refund? Calling to say you are delayed because of weather is different. Would you call and say you weren't able to arrive for a couple of days? What would be the reason you'd give?
