Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Here is a tip I remember from the past few years from free dining...
The longer your vacation the more likely you will get the value resort of your choice. You can cancel days later (before the 45 day mark) but get the resort you would like now. We always had 10 days and always had our first choice. While others would report that they couldn't get their days which were around ours.

I know its no comfort, but last year people were still able to get rooms well past the first few weeks of booking. I think pop was the first to go. and this year the dates are extended, so good luck to everyone

I'm hoping to get Pop! I better start doing some research just in case its gone. I'm one who does not have a Visa so I will have to wait a few extra days!

I'm staying up to do homework that I've been neglecting while I watched the boards, haha. Whoops.

Me too! And to make matters worse, I've been on the Dis boards while at school. Seriously, I must learn some discipline. Somehow dis boards are always more exciting than law book!:rolleyes1

Yes, there is always hope, but the pp does not have a Disney Visa and since 2005 Pop Standard has always sold out first, followed by All-Star Movies Standard, then Pop Preferred, then All-Star Movies Preferred and then Port Orleans. There is always little to no availability at those resorts by the time it comes out for the general public. Not trying to be a downer, just realistic.

Has this been the case for every year? I wonder if pop preffered will still be open when I am finally able to book when its released to the general public. I suppose I could pay the extra $17 dollars a night.I'll just have to raise some more funds:rotfl:

OK - there has been a ot of activity since I checked a couple days ago?? I tried reading all the posts but got lost

Is Disney Visa Free Dining opening up, per rumors, tomorrow?

or is just a code being announced - sorry I am confused :confused3

Ditto. I'm staring at the cover of Aristotle's Politics right now.. I'm on the last chapter, and decided to just pop over here for a quick check-in. Glad I did too!
..I think I may just sparknote the last part, actually. I can't stay up much longer. :surfweb:

Now I am seriously worried about getting a room!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!

Okay, so when it comes to Disney, I'm a little obsessed, but if I were in your shoes; I would probably book a stay for the max. allowed nights in my name and another for the max. nights allowed at a different time under DH's, and then hope that when I found out the exact dates, that they fell under those dates, and then cancel what I didn't need.

You should be able to get a room. It just might not be your first choice.

IF we are being able to book with a DV tomorrow, I wish they'd get the codes out! :sad2:

Good luck to you all! I hope when I wake up in the A.M. all of you with DV's are booking FD!

Hmmmm...that's an idea I have not thought of, it could work...but when I cancel one of the ressies would I lose my down payment? nmAlso....
What do you mean by max.nights allowed?

By max. nights allowed, I mean the most nights they'll let you book under 1 reservation. I'm pretty sure there's a limit, and I'm thinking it's 10 or 14 nights. I'm not sure about the $200 DP, for some reason I was thinking you could get that back up to your 45 days out, but I could be totally wrong. Anyone know for sure??

In past years it has been a 14 nt max for free dining promo... You can also get your $200 deposit back anytime before the final payment is due, which you are right, is 45 days prior to your arrival date.

We were also in the same sort of bind with getting a new job and being unsure of dates.. But i decided on our dates and he'll just have to tell his unknown future employers to suck it up, because we are going to see THE mouse.. haha.:rotfl:

I still have the e-mail I received last year about free dining from having a Disney Visa.

I received the e-mail on 04/07/08 at 1:14 PM.

So are any of you going to just call tomorrow morning even if the e-mail isn't sent out?
