Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Sorry, but probably not. Who knows though, with the recession, maybe they will have rooms available then in previous years.

Just wanted to say last year was our first year for free dining and we do not have the disney visa and we called the first day it was opened to the general public early am and did get 2 standard rooms with free dining! Preferred rooms were few and far between after the visa holders ! I couldve gotten one preferred and one standard but I choose 2 standard so we could be near one another! Just shedding some hope for you!

What other value would you choose...considering how busy it would be - sharing busses situation, etc...for us to stay??

Do you think if I call tomorrow (if it does in fact open up to Visa Card holders) I will be able to get a Standard Pop room? I already have my reservation through my AAA travel agent and am wondering if it'll be horrible if I wait until she comes into the office (around 9ish EST)? DH and I are not able to call in the am ourselves due to our jobs so we must rely on her. I'm not too concerned about staying there or one of the AS, but if I had a choice I would love to stay in POP.

If you can't get your standard room at Pop I would probably go with All-Star Music, they should have rooms still available on the day it comes out for the general public. And as far as the "bus sharing situation" it's really a non-issue for us. In all of our trips to WDW and in all of the times we have taken the bus (which is very many times), we have had to "share" a bus twice - and both times that was at night after the fireworks at MK.

I am really hoping that it starts Aug 23rd. We are already booked w/ free dining for the 16-24th., and would like to have some sanity, in the restraunts. but if they let it go for the 16th good luck to all.

We've always liked ASMo, just for the theming (although we've never stayed anywhere else) We'll be stay at Pop this year, because it's the only place that I could get onto a fridge swap for our dates. I'm really hoping FD comes out tomorrow

Very Good! Certain ones may sell out quicker than others though! Like POR and POFQ, CBR!

By the way, I grew up in St. James on LI. The only thing I really miss is the PIZZA!!! Definitely not the traffic!!!

I know its no comfort, but last year people were still able to get rooms well past the first few weeks of booking. I think pop was the first to go. and this year the dates are extended, so good luck to everyone

And thanks to all for the recommendation for ASM! I will put that down as my second choice. That would be my gut, anyway...since I am going for a Christian Music Festival!
