Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

I still have the e-mail I received last year about free dining from having a Disney Visa.

I received the e-mail on 04/07/08 at 1:14 PM.

So are any of you going to just call tomorrow morning even if the e-mail isn't sent out?

I'm sure I'll call, just to make sure, but it is after midnight est. time and I don't see anything, so I'm guessing that's a bad sign:confused3 I'm really hoping something comes soon:goodvibes

Maybe it won't be released until the 30th that maymake more sense! Then it would be released to General Public on or around April 6th!!! Because Disney Visa holders usually get a full week more than the GP! It's a pretty good chance.;) We'll see what happens. Then the current promo would be over the buy 4 get 3!:goodvibes

I think it's really odd that there aren't any codes out yet. :confused3 When we went through this in 2007, I think we had at least a couple day's notice with the codes. I (and everyone on the DIS) was on the phone at 7am sharp, but we definitely had more info.

The FD rumor dates seem to be all the same, but I'm starting to wonder about the booking dates. :rolleyes1 Guess we'll know in a few hours!

That does make alot of sense.. darn those rumors... so frustrating!!! All this just to plan my moms trip, ugh.. :confused3 so glad mine is already planned :cool1:

To all newbies and those worried about your resort preference!!!
Here's my 2 cents. I've been a lot, (not NEARLY as much as some here, but a LOT.) I've stayed at all the value resorts many times each.
My 2 cents is don't sweat it. You can have a bad experience at the Pop, and a good experience the next year at an A.S. resort. OR vise versa. Sometimes the pixie dust is in fate or destiny! We had one trip in particular I remember that we stayed at POP Century and it... well... it sucked! The AC wouldn't work right, the maintenance man couldnt get it working right, and our son (angry autistic and heat makes him angry) was miserable because the temps in the room were a lot more than we were used to at home. The service stunk, and the staff were all rude and hateful. Lines were long, and the food court had bad service and frequent shortages of drinks and icees. It was a real bummer. But that was ONE time, and we've had at least 7-8 other stays there where we had a blast and everything went great! We've also had an AWESOME stay at All Stars Sports, despite the fact that No one in our family is even the least bit interested in sports in general. I'd go as far as to say I'm "anti-sports" to a certain degree, but we LOVED the place!!!! We've had both amazing and horrible experiences at AS Movies, and both great and "just OK" experiences at AS Music.
My point is dont be all disgusted (though its easy to do... and I'm seriously guilty of it myself in times past) if you dont get the resort you want!
Just make the best of wherever you end up, and everything will be fine!:thumbsup2
My slogan is a bad day at Disney is better than a good day at work. :wizard: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :wizard:
Anyways that's my 2 cents.

I just got an email from Disney Visa!!!!

.

.

Sorry... it was just an email saying Welcome to Disney Rewards! :rotfl: Sorry I couldn't refuse. Remember my user ID and if you meet me you can slap me then.:lmao:
Seriously I did just get the email, and I even went to the website like it instructed, but nothing there yet.:sad1:
She's had this card for weeks and even paid for the remainder of our May trip on it. I wonder why they are just now sending the welcome. Maybe they are busy preparing the free dining emails... One can hope.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you die-hards, but I'm going to bed. I'm usually up late anyway, so I figured I'd keep checking for the big announcement. I think they are torturing us on purpose. lol
anyway, I guess I'll just check again in the morning. sweet dreams all you free dining fans...

:thumbsup2

Yeah, I'm out of here too. I got a lot of work done, even some I forgot, which is pretty good, but I still have to get up relatively early tomorrow.

Good luck everyone! :wizard:

Check out the top right corner of the mousesavers website!

It says "A Walt Disney World package with FREE Dining for stays 8/16/09-10/3/09 is expected very soon. Watch this space!"

I booked a trip starting on October 17th, but I hope a lot more of you get to take advantage of this!

Yes I was going to stay home from work but maybe I should go since there is nothing offical yet

DH has stayed home too. He told me to get on the computer to check while he showers. He wanted me to call at 7 AM. I don't know if I should call without the FD code. I think it would be pointless.
Maybe something will pop up before then.
:hourglass :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

Being a Disney Visa holder for many years, I just wanted to post that I have seen nothing. I am a compulsive email checker - mostly because I work from home and need to get constant updates through email. So, I am a "refresher" - it's kind of sad. Anyway, no emails yet. Nothing on the "Special Offers" section of Disney.com. I am being a skeptic here but I just don't think it's today. I wish it were but I don't think it is. Now, this from a self confessed - "no knowledge of what it's like to have the dining plan, let alone the FREE dining plan"......the wait continues.

Best of luck to all trying to get this amazing treat!!!

Same here.. seems sort of pointless right now though... I haven't seen it anywhere.. maybe it will end up being 3/30 for DV then a few days later for the public :confused3

I'm really new when it comes to Disney reservations, etc., so bear w/me :) I was wondering, could I just make a MYW reservation for our dates in Sept, and then if/when FD is announced add that to our reservation? TIA :)

I don't know about last year, but in '07 it was DV on Monday, Gen Public on Thursday. It seems they release a lot of sales on Thurs. :confused3

I'm still wondering why so many things said today for DV.

If Mousesavers knows anything for sure, it will be up at 7 am.
