Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Congrats to ALL! Wish they would offer something for the beginning of Dec??? We got the 4/3 promo for next month so I am just thankful for that one :)

Have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Horray! I just booked our Honeymoon at CSR from September 12th-26th and got my free dining! This saved us $1120! Applying for a Disney Visa just to get this early was great. The dining plan did include 1 TS, 1CS, and 1 Snack. I thought it would be the one that has the 2 CS and 1 snack but the very kind lady told me they never use that one for free dining. I'm very excited!

No, she didn't say that--I have an awesome CM. I have a bounceback that I booked last fall, and the dates overlapped. Apparently, the computers don't like that. :rolleyes1 So she had to go back and modify my bounceback dates before she could make my new res. And now her computer is doing an update, so I'm on hold again.

"Kiss the girl . . . ."

If you already have the bounceback free dining, why would you change it? Not that its any of my business - I'm just curious!;)

alternative pirate, of course, it depends on your travel party, ticket type, resort level, length of stay, etc. but mine was $1,998 for 9 nights at POP (value resort) with 8 day Park Hoppers for 2 adults, DS13 and DS6. Awesome price!

oops...sorry...didn't see your resort preference there already...mine's a value instead of a moderate

So how much did the package cost for Port Orleans Riverside? lets say for 7 days...anyone?
Anyone book this?
How many people are in your family? How many kids? What are their ages? What level resort are you wanting to stay at? All of those variables come into play. If you want to price out a package, just go to the WDW website and put in the dates for your package WITHOUT adding the dining plan and that is the cost that your package will be with the free dining code applied to it (also remember that the website automatically adds the preferred room choice and the Waterparks and more option, so if you don't won't those you will need to adjust those for the correct pricing info).

Yay, girlpenguin! We'll be there the same time as you, and I have the same dilemma. I can't decide about MNSSHP. Have you done the Halloween party before?

I've never been there for it before. This is only the second time I've ever been to Disney, and it will be my daughter's first time. She'll be 3 1/2.

This is our first time on the DDP, and we'll be there during free dining. I've read people talk about some snacks and drinks (like smoothies) that are sometimes allowed on the DDP, and sometimes not. Is it fair to assume that during Free Dining, they are going to be very strict about what they allow on the DDP?....no smoothies for us! :snooty:

There are entire threads on this forum devoted to what is considered a "snack" and what is not. I don't think it is real strict, but some things are not allowed with the snack credit.

Does anyone know how many days you will have to stay and how many tickets you will have to buy???

When you guys are booking do you have to pay for the entire trip up front or are you doing the 200 dollar deposit?

Same here. DH, DS13 and I have been one time in 2000, but this will be DS6's first trip, and we've never been to MNSSHP either. I've seen some really cool pics and read some good things about it, though, so we may give it a try.

$200 deposit. I figure, why let Disney hang on to my $$ any longer than required? Especially if I can make .001% interest in my savings account!

:rotfl: My thoughts exactly, tbird. I might earn enough for an extra Mickey ice cream bar in there by Sept.

I'm so glad they're doing this this year!!! We're not going in Sept. this year, but we ARE next year!!! That's a good sign!

I just booked free dining about an hour ago and the CM told me this exact thing. You still have to purchase the one day park ticket, but you get to credit that amount towards your annual pass renewal. Hope this helps.

Nancy :)

I am trying to decide what to do here. My friend is at Disney right now with his family.I can not get in touch to see if he wants to do this deal.I do not want to tie up more money If he does not want to go.I did not see an answer if you can do the 10 day hold he will be back before then.Is it worth going with the park hoppers at the end of September or should I save there I will not be doing the water parks. Thanks

You are required to buy at least a 1 day ticket. But you don't have to renew while you're there for free dining. You pay for the ticket, and hold on to it. Whenever you renew your AP, you turn in the ticket and the price will be applied to your renewal. :)

Normally you can do a 7 day courtesy hold but I dont think you can do that with the DVisa offer.
