Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Just booked an 8 day stay @ CBR w/ Pirate room. 9/20-9/27. I was very surprised that there was no hold time and I was able to get my first choice w/ no problems.

BTW. I can't believe how inexpensive the airfare was. $107 R/T from BWI to MCO. Of course I'll probably have to pay like $50 a bag or something.

Now I only have to stress about getting my ADR's on 6/21 lol :)

I have a Disney visa card, but did not get an e-mail from Disney Visa re this promotion. I happened to find it today when I went on the Dis --of course!!
Also, I checked the Disney Rewards website and there is nothing about free dining promo!

Now I have to decide if I should keep my July ressie w/pay for 4 get 7 or to switch to the free dining plan!

Just got an email from my TA (Small World) that she added FD this morning for our two standard rooms at ASMo - going Sept 19th through the 27th.

I could NOT have done it so easily without the DISboards. I really appreciate all the knowledgable folks on here that take the time to answer questions that not only help the OP but other newbie's like myself.

On behalf of everyone in my party I thank you!!!:cloud9:

Congrats!! Can't wait for Aug to be at Pop. Have never stayed there and we are all looking forward to it. Especially with the FD!!! :thumbsup2

Ok anyone had a problem getting the date and resorts they want??

I am worried since I have to wait until Monday to call or should I be ok since I already have a packaged booked at CBR?

I know there will be so many people calling between now and Monday althought it looks like a lot of people are booking August dates Im toward end of September

i wonder if they release more rooms when they release to the gp?

If you are going during FD will you pay the diference and upgrade to the deluxe? I think we may:goodvibes
No. 1 Table Service per day is plenty for us. Wastes too much time and it's way too much food for us on the Deluxe plan.

Is there a list of restaurants I can look at also, what happens if you don't say use your cs on one day do you lose it, or can you use it for snacks at the end. I think what I am saying is if you don't use it all on that day do you lose it?

We just booked our trip, Sept. 5th through Sept. 13th at Pop Century with free dining!!! It took all of about ten minutes, and I was never on hold. Jo Beth was the best!!! Can't wait to get there!!!:woohoo:

we did! We'll be going with a 21 month old at the time, and having the breaks and addt'l food (since we'll be sharing with her) will be nice!

No, you don't lose it. You can use the credits however you want. You can eat three Table Service meals one day and use none the next. The dining credits are good from the time of your check-in until midnight on the day you check out.

All 200 or so Disney Restaurants are included in the Dining Plan. The only ones I can think of, off the top of my head right this minute, that are not included are Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex, Fultons Crab House (I know there are a couple of others).

Thanks for the reply about the deposit.

Can someone please tell me about what this package is costing? I am trying to get a quote for my mom and sis who might travel with us for a few days of the trip. It would be 2 adults for 5 nights with one day tickets.

Thanks
Kim

Man, I would say if you have extra $$$, then use it to upgrade your resort or something, not buy extra food. We've always done the regular DDP and thought it was plenty. But in January, we did the DxDDP for just 2 days and couldn't have taken one more day of it - we were so stuffed...didn't even eat a single snack, either. It was fun to try, but holey-moley, Just way too much food. And the time involved would really be incredible on a longer vacation -- we were staying at a monorail resort for those 2 days & just going to the monorail parks. All our ADRs were at those parks & those resorts so we had the minimum possible commute times for our meals and STILL it's a lot of time. If we had been seriously interested in doing a whole lot of park time, or getting to the other two parks, it wouldn't have happened. But we'd been several times in the last couple of years, so leisurely park time was our agenda.

Unless your whole vacation is about food...well, if it is, then go for it!:thumbsup2

If i sign up for disney visa today...would i be able to book free dining immedately after?? i've been thinking about getting a disney visa anyway.

I don't think so. You need to give them your account number and it may take a few days before you are approved.
