Free dining vs other deals and when to go ?

I'm trying to plan our trip for next year. Since it looks there will be free dining, we were going to go in sept 08 and stay at CSR. But.......i really prefer October (not as hot, less rain, etc.)

what kinds of deals are there normally in October?

Do i have a chance of saving almost as much money on some other promotion since i've seen on here a lot that when free dining is offered, you pay higher for the hotel.

so what do you think?

Sept 08 and get free dining?

Oct 08 with out free dining?

Check out the current Season Special deal on the Disneyworld.com website. it is for this fall but would give you an idea. I booked for Nov and the savings was almost the same price as the dining plan for the two of us, even though it is in fact a reduced rate on the room portion of the package.
