OT: I too am waiting for a fall free dining or other special offer. We want to go in early December, which is not typically a time for specials, although last year was an exception.

Disney Visa had free dining in 2008 plus there were room only discounts 2008 and 2009. We are going the week after thanksgiving with the bounceback room only discount (we had the year long PIN as well but the bounceback was 5 % more off)

And that should mean we can chill for a few weeks..

I had been holding on to hope that we would see something this week - but I've officially given up on that.
But thats ok! The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that we won't see anything until at least the end of April. The current Disney Visa offer ends April 24 and I don't ever recall them having more than one Disney Visa offer open at a time?

And that was EXACTLY what I thought when I saw the new promo this morning! I was going to vow to not check this thread anymore, but now I think I'll have to keep looking for your updates Knox! Apparently your sources are quite reliable!

I hope your prediction is wrong. I hope they have the same offer as last year. I can accept spending $200-$300 more than I spent last year BUT if there is no free dining the exact same trip as last year is double the cost if QS is offered for Value Resorts than the trip (upgrading to regular DP) will cost us $600 more than last year. No way DH will go for that. It would only be $200 less than our trip to Universal/Hard Rock Hotel. I will just keep and hoping for the same deal as last year.

Anyone know when they offer the Free dining if you have to complete your trip by the last day OR if you have to check in by the last day. Ex: If the last day of FD is October 1, 2010 and we check in October 1 do we get FD for our stay?

So have we completely given up on anything other than the 20% moderates coming out for the summer? We just booked today at the Coronado for July 7th - 13th with no dining. DW will be celebrating her 40th while we are there.

Sometimes you get lucky. I of course would like to think that *I* am always right..

I can assure you that is DEFINITELY not the case. If I were married this would be the part where I'd say, "Just ask my wife about that.."

But I did have some reliable, reputable sources on this one and I felt pretty good what they were saying was true.

I think the new promo makes it a definite that something good will be offered! They appear to need additional bookings for even the May/June period. I guess I'm ok waiting until early May...

Anyone know when they offer the Free dining if you have to complete your trip by the last day OR if you have to check in by the last day. Ex: If the last day of FD is October 1, 2010 and we check in October 1 do we get FD for our stay?

Yes, if you check in before the promotion ends you will be able to take the promotion throughout your stay. For example I have the BB FD and will be checking in on Sept. 29 and checking out on Oct. 5 and I have it for the entire 6 nights. HOWEVER, remember, on Oct. 1 the rates go from value season to regular season so you will pay more than if you stayed within value season. See below for my room rates (rack), so remember to budget for that increase: (BTW--for the FD BB promotion it ended on Sept. 30 so I had to check in by the 30th to get the promotion, but we did decide to do it on Sept. 29.)

I agree, except I think it will only be through September 30, since that is the last day of value season and regular season starts on Oct. 1.

Im in the exact same boat as you! To bump up to the free basic dining for a moderate resort would cost us 600.00 more as well..I guess I should just see how much it would be to pay for the dining instead of bumping up to a moderate resort
