FREE DINING UPDATE- RUMOR and SPECULATION / Update Page 80 !

I hope your prediction is wrong. I hope they have the same offer as last year. I can accept spending $200-$300 more than I spent last year BUT if there is no free dining the exact same trip as last year is double the cost if QS is offered for Value Resorts than the trip (upgrading to regular DP) will cost us $600 more than last year. No way DH will go for that. It would only be $200 less than our trip to Universal/Hard Rock Hotel. I will just keep and hoping for the same deal as last year.

Anyone know when they offer the Free dining if you have to complete your trip by the last day OR if you have to check in by the last day. Ex: If the last day of FD is October 1, 2010 and we check in October 1 do we get FD for our stay?

Last year when I did bounce back they told me 10/1 as a check in date wouldn't work .....You can check in 9/30 and it would be active through October for up to I think 14 days or nights?

I hope it is FD for everyone too...but I am just looking at the offers last year and UK's offers. I know that the UK is different than us...they only get QS for mods and DDP for deluxe.

I do hope for the AUG/SEPT offer is the reg plan for everyone! They need to have people in the rooms during that time.

I agree, except I think it will only be through September 30, since that is the last day of value season and regular season starts on Oct. 1.

I was going to say the 30th but then changed it 'cause I thought I read somewhere that it was until the 2nd. So...I will change my prediction to Aug15th-Sept30thHere is wishful thinking!!!

I think the new promo makes it a definite that something good will be offered! They appear to need additional bookings for even the May/June period. I guess I'm ok waiting until early May...

Yeah.. I wonder if they'll move on to fall or stick with summer? Rumor has it June is SCARY empty right now. I guess if you wanted no lines and no wait.. June might be just the ticket..

@CanadianGuy --- do your sources have any info on what the promo that spans the rest of the summer might be? I'm working on a 1st or 2nd week of August trip... and right now it looks like I will have to book the Disney Visa deal... should I wait?

I don't even know what or when the next offer may come down I'm afraid. I don't think anything for fall will come before early May - but additional summer stuff could really come any day way I figure..

I have absolutely ZERO information beyond what I've said here.. I don't even know that there will (or will not be) more for summer. But there ya go.

I'm going to throw my prediction out there too!

I don't think we will see tiered free dining this fall, maybe being offered again via PIN like last year for Oct-Dec, but not during the regular free dining season. I think it will be the standard free dining that has been offered the past few years.

Why?

1 - Disney is having trouble filling rooms right now and during the summer months when they typically don't have a problem filling the rooms. They even offered codes over the Easter week -- that seems pretty indicative to me of what is actually going on right now with the economy and people scaling back on spending.

2 - Disney can say they are going to be scaling back discounts, but at this point I don't think they are in a place where they can do that without really hurting their hotel occupancy (see #1)

3 - Universal will get a huge jump this summer with WOHP, Disney will have parts of MK shut down for the expansion......not a huge incentive to go to WDW for most people. I would think most people would be looking to go back to WDW in 2011 when some of the expansion is complete.

4 - hurricane season is looking like it will be a bad one, Disney will have to do even more to get people down there this late August/September. If bookings are super low........I think we might see something a little better than FD offered, how cool would that be?

Come on Disney, make my prediction come true!

I'm liking your predictions, I see that they are offering in MK and HS BOG1 free meal meal coupons and 20% coupons in gift shops . Hey weres our free dining!

I agree with EVERYTHING! One AWESOME fall promo would be fantastic, and would certainly get me down to WDW to spend my hard earned money!!!

I just called CR for quote....when taking info I jokingly said unless of course there is free dining....She laughed & said, "Not yet.....we're trying this first." So.....maybe there is hope in the future . We are going October and I did notice that the discount went until Oct 7th then picked back up Oct 11 (guess that's for Columbus Weekend).

Yeah.. The math on this new offer only works for short stays. 6 nights or less .. and really it's not that great at Deluxes.

A 35% off at a deluxe would save you as much in 2 nights in most cases as this whole offer probably would.

Unless you're the Walton Family or Octomom .. with all of 'em under 9. *

Didn't the Visa deal also include FREE DINING? Unless I misread it, this doesn't even include that...it's literally just free tickets. IMO that's not so great? I know for us northern states, school doesn't even get out mid June...so this doesn't help many people?
