Free Dining Pin

We have booked a trip for April and I am curious how Pin's work?? I am told the are random and I have heard and read people will call and ask if a pin is associated with their name for things such as room discounts and free dining. 2 yrs ago I got a card in the mail for free dining in april and last yr my cousin got one. But I'd like to be more pro-active. Any tips or comment on how to get confirmation of a pin would be helpful. :

-Check your email and your regular mailbox.
-Make sure you are registered on Disney's website. It can help to play around with bookings, without actually booking. (They will know that you were pricing out a trip on XXX dates, and might send you a pin to lock you in.)
-Call the booking line, and ask nicely.

This may sound funny but if you have not ordered a vacation DVD in awhile, order one. I also agree with the previous posters. make sure you have your updated email or emails in the system. Good Luck!

Can anyone tell me if it's too eraly to call? Has anyone got a pin yet for 2012?

I'm still not sure I know what it is.. it sounds odd that you can call and ask? Do all the CM's have a slot machine by their desk and if you ask, they spin it and tell u what you've won

All they can tell you when you call, is whether there is a pin associated with your name. Meaning, they can tell you whether they mailed/emailed you a pin. But sometimes, people find the pin was sent to an inactive email address, or old mailing address.
